Chapter 53: Like Father Like Son
Just as the Chunin fell down and was about to reach the ground, he was caught by someone.
Rayzen adjusted himself and stood on top of the branch, from his previous upside down position. He looked down to see, a middle aged man that seemed close to a decade older than Takeshi wearing the standard Uchiha clan outfit which consisted of a full sleeved high collared purple shirt with the clan crest on the back along with black pant and a white coloured obi with a dark line running in between.
" How dare you try to kill my son, brat? I'll let you experience the same! "
' Genjutsu: Sharingan '
Rayzen saw the blood-orange three tomoe Sharingan of the man and fell prey to his genjutsu.
He suddenly felt the world change. It was like he was in a world full of blood and slaughter. Just as he processed this and was about to try breaking the genjutsu, a spike was driven through his right leg's kneecap.

Even though he knew this was genjutsu, he felt extreme physical pain. It didn't stop as a second one drove through his other kneecap. Under the immense pain, he couldn't help but want to scream out. But his screams didn't come out, as he was paralysed and forced to silently endure the pain.
Rayzen didn't lose completely to the pain and he tried to hold his rationality and concentrated on breaking out of the genjutsu.
His recent foray into genjutsus, particularly those performed by Sharingan, was helpful in analysing, breaking and reflecting genjutsus using his Sharingan. He activated his Sharingan and analysed the genjutsu.
The two tomoe of the Sharingan started to rotate slowly.
' This illusion is really good. So that's how it worked! ' He thought to himself.
Instead of breaking the genjutsu, he was experimenting with it. He knew that with his current experience he can't hope to reflect a Genjutsu performed using a three tomoe Sharingan with his two tomoe Sharingan. So the only things, he could was analyse the genjutsu and learn from it and also experiment with it.
Just as the third spike penetrated his right hand, he subtly changed the property of the genjutsu, he had analysed thus far, using his Sharingan. The rotation speed of the two tomoe of the Sharingan increased suddenly and died down to the previous speed, just as he was done with his editing. At the same instant he lost the sensation of pain.
He managed to edit out the pain factor of the genjutsu. The rotation speed of the tomoe sharply rose and died down to its previous speed again. And this time, all the three spikes penetrating his body disappeared.
As the fourth spike was about to penetrate him, it stopped in mid-air and vanished. This happened in tandem with the rotation speed of the tomoe of his Sharingan, like the previous times.
At this point, Rayzen was sure that with his recently received experience, he could reflect the genjutsu, just with his two tomoe Sharingan. But he didn't do that, in order to not give the extremists an accurate idea of his prowess.
Before, when he analysed and edited for the first time, he also managed to connect to his real world senses while in the genjutsu. So he knew, he was still standing on the branch and hadn't fell down. Afterall this was a paralysis genjutsu, and he didn't want to take the risk of falling down when a strong air blows at him.
Since he had done this earlier, when he was done with experimenting on the genjutsu and was a out to break out of it, he felt a vague sense of danger approaching him.
He didn't play around anymore and with the sudden rotation of the tomoe of his Sharingan, he broke out of the genjutsu. Just as he came back to his senses, the first thing he saw was a kunai coming straight at his Sharingan. Even though it seemed to be coming slow due to his Sharingan, it was still an arm's distance away from him.
No one would be foolish enough to hold back under such circumstances and Rayzen was definitely not a fool. He was about to tap into his actual physical capabilities and use his agility to block and counter-attack. But on seeing another kunai coming from the side aimed at the previous one coming at him, he stopped and relaxed like he was watching a movie.
Just as the kunai was a foot away from his Sharingan, the other one crashed onto it and changed its trajectory, with both losing momentum and falling behind both sides of Rayzen. Whereas Rayzen didn't even blink during the whole ordeal.
The shout that followed was the reason behind his confidence:
" How dare you, Yachi?! Do you think the rest of the clansmen are blind to your actions? You must answer why you tried to destroy his Sharingan and kill him! Otherwise you won't be able to bear the consequences. "
It was Takeshi who had arrived. Rayzen also saw Mikoto peeking at the scene here from behind a tree and guessed what must have happened.
" The kid was rebelling against the Police Force! And look what he did to my son, Juichi! If I haven't arrived in time, he would have died! " Yachi shouted while feigning his indignation.
Rayzen interjected as he said coldly : " Don't be dramatic old man! He would have atmost broke a few bones if he had fallen. And if he couldn't handle that, how dare he walk with pride as an Uchiha! "
Takeshi was proud seeing that Rayzen didn't keep quiet and chose to suffer.
" Disrespectful brat! How- " Yachi's angry rebuttal was interrupted again as Rayzen said :
" Of course, this was what your son taught me earlier as he ruthlessly attacked his own teammate, a member of the police force, for a chance at killing me! "
As he said this he looked around using his Sharingan and as expected a group of people materialised in the area, they were the Uchiha members of the police force.
Getting a signal from Takeshi to speak out, he spoke coldly again: " Even though the only unbiased witness won't testify, for my innocence. It is pretty clear that you idiot of a father and son and those behind you were plotting against me and using the police force as your personal force. This is in itself is a violation to the rules of police force. If you don't want to be further implicated and the police force cleared of trash, I suggest you stop this farce. "
The police force approached Rayzen and went to subdue again. Rayzen looked coldly at them. He saw that Ryobu was the one leading them this time. So he warned them :
" If you want to arrest me you can, but I request the patriarch to be the judge! It's pretty clear that you guys are involved and hence won't deliver an unbiased judgement. If you are going to do this the hard way... "
Rayzen snickered as he looked at all of them with his Sharingan that made them feel as if they are staring into the eyes of a ruthless demon.
He looked at Juichi who barely had a mocking expression on his distorted face from getting injured by a flick of Rayzen's finger. The tomoe of his Sharingan rotated and it was visible to everyone the immense pain experienced by silent and paralysed Juichi, from his shivering body and tearing eyes.

Yachi instantly dispelled the genjutsu on his son just as he realised what happened. He snarled at Rayzen : " You - "
While a cold smile formed underneath his mask, Rayzen made a snarky remark : " Just returning your gift! No need to thank me! "
Ryobu who was watching all this sighed and approached Rayzen as he said : " Don't resist ! Come with us to the patriarch! We will see to it that you get justice! "
Rayzen didn't resist and he followed them to the patriarch as did Takeshi, Yachi and the rest.
Mikoto too left, possibly back to her home. Just as she left, Renzo materialised from a nearby tree. He had an amused smile on his face as he followed behind Mikoto. His thoughts were on the masked single eyed Uchiha kid:
' Rayzen... How interesting! '
