Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Embarking on a journey
While Flora was dealing with the preparations. Ray just sat in his room chatting with his companion that been with him for the last two years.
" Now that I mastered ' Blood Manipulation' when are you going to give me the other ones?" Ray said with a boring look. He was not the type to like sitting in one place for a long time and now that he had nothing to do, the only thing he had was Sanguis.
"Mastered? I don't want to even laugh! Very naïve, Ray. Let me tell you something, you moron. Forget about mastering Blood manipulation, you didn't even reach 60% of its potential. You still have a long way to go kid." A deep voice responded briefly mocking Ray.
'He never changes, sigh.' Thought the young man. For the past two years, Ray would sneak daily to train his Blood manipulation and it's not an exaggeration to say that it became a lethal weapon that if not for the presence of Flora and Galdof, Ray would've used it as his main attacking style.
" You're really not helping me that much with the way you treat me you know?" Said Ray with an exasperated sigh.
"Is it not helping enough that I have to bear with loving inside your stupid body? Think about the suffering I have to go through so your stupid ass doesn't get caught." Ever imagined hearing a very deep and profound voice whining like a little girl...Yeah, it's not exactly the most pleasant thing to hear.
With this Ray could only ignore his partner and just lay down on his bed. Slowly, his eyes closed and he fell asleep quietly.

A few days passed and finally, the day of the departure came. Flora and Ray stood in front of the house with mixed emotions and they can't be blamed. For Ray, this house was his start from scratch after his life became a clusterfuck and he was nearly killed, it was also his home for years where he shared happy moments with the two people standing beside him right now.
Not only that but it also was a place he knew he could return to whenever he wanted. As for Flora, she was also sad to leave. This was her house since she was a toddler. She lived here all her life and also here she met the young man beside her. He was her first friend and her most important person along with her grandpa.
As if they agreed before, both of them looked back at Galdof who was behind them.
" You really don't want to go with us?" Asked Ray with a slightly sad smile.
Two days ago, Galdof gave them a map and told them the way for the Academy. When they asked him why is he not going with them he just laughed and then he said " This house is where my wife died. I can't just leave. You two will be okay without me. I know that for sure."
How could they retort to that? So even though Flora was very sad to the point where she hugged her grandpa and cried, there was nothing she could do.
Back to the present, The old man nodded his head " Hahaha, As I said I can't leave." Then he patted Ray on his shoulder and said " I trust you. Keep Flora safe. You know, she always gets in trouble anywhere she goes."
"Heyy!! I'm can hear you!" Protested Flora with a very cute pout that made Ray and Galdof laugh.
"Take care of yourself too. And I want to thank you again for all the things you did for me for the past few years. Thank you so much." Ray hugged him and then waited for Flora outside the house.
This Grandfather-granddaughter duo needed some time alone and he understood that very well.
" Really, what a good boy...Now, where is my hug?" Joked Galdof but he was surprised to see his granddaughter already in his embrace, she tried to stop her tears but ultimately failed.
"Now, now. You're a grown-up so stop crying. Ou can always come back here. This is your home after all. I will really miss my only granddaughter." Even the old man felt a tear trickle down his cheek.
"I will miss you too!" She said between her muffled cries.
Then after hugging for a few minutes, she left her Grandpa's embrace. She looked at him one last time and then turned around and left.
" May fate be with you. Ray, Flora."

" Are you ready?" Asked Ray when he saw Flora going out.
She wiped her tears and then smiled warmly "Mm. Let's go."
