Chapter 24: Lust has no cure
"This is far enough. Let's set up a camp here." Chen spoke and others agreed. They immediately set up tents and a defensive strategy underneath to protect them.
The night sky was without a moon. The group did not burn any campfire for light either. They didn't want to give away their location. They were all warriors at Master realm so their sights were strong enough to see things close to them despite the darkness.
Currently Uriel, Ganza, Chen & Ming Sheng were sitting around Xiao who was lying on the grass. She was apparently drugged.
"Sigh. Many thanks to Trinity for saving us." Ming Sheng cupped his hands. Trinity exchanged glances. They felt slight pity for this old man but also approved of his humble nature.
"Since Xiao is a wingwoman and you are her ally, it is only natural that we'd save you. Consulate members look out for each other." Chen spoke hypocritically. He had no issues when he abandoned Kyle, another wingman when the knights were attacking him; but now he boasted to be righteous.
"It's a pity that your group decided to fight us earlier. If not for that, you'd all be alive and we'd not even have gotten ambushed by Gen forces." Uriel chided.
Ming Sheng smiled bitterly and said nothing. He understood their hypocrisy and bullshit perfectly. But he & Xiao were at Trinity's mercy so he held back the retorts.
"Alright I will feed her the truth-divulger potion now." Ganza said summoning a potion bottle and unloading his contents in Xiao's mouth. She gulped it all down and her eyes became more unfocused.
While they were at it, Ming Sheng sighed wondering about the near-death experience from several hours ago. They fought against the superior Trinity. Then they were all ambushed by Gen forces. In the aftermath of it, Deodomus had died and so did Kyle.
The enemy spy leader had exchanged the deathly blow with Deodomus resulting in his death. Deodomus' corpse could not be retrieved as it had fallen down a mountain and Trinity had to escape quickly from the enemy.
Kyle on the other hand was slain by the knights. His Yeti Power technique had gotten the best of him and resulted in his death since he could not see the odds against him and didn't retreat when surrounded.
Chen could have saved Kyle but he didn't. Trinity had no intention of helping them. If not for Ganza having favoured Ming Sheng and Xiao begin a crucial suspect, Trinity might have abandoned them too.
As for the Gen forces learning about Xiao's group's location, it was all thanks to Joseph. He was apparently part of Gen intelligence. He was a Master realm assassin! His technique was profound and enabled him to hide his cultivation base. And Xiao's group was truly unlucky to have arrived at Joseph's house out of all the houses in the entire village. This was simply bad luck!
Needless to say, after giving them some information, and gaining some from them, Joseph contacted Gen palace and hurriedly 4 special teams were dispatched by lord Zen to kill the remnant invaders and to retrieve princess Yana who had turned out to be alive and was in Xiao's group.
Out of the 4 teams, 2 were obliterated and 2 were injured before the Trinity decided to escape and not drag the battle out since Gen military could also be on its way onto them. It would really become a precarious situation for them then.

"Tell us. Who killed Han Mo?" Ganza asked Xiao. Everyone was staring at her.

"…" There was a momentary silence.
"What were you doing there when it happened? How could mere goblins kill a Master realm warrior?" Ganza enquired.
"….Sex." Xiao replied. That one word answered many questions.

"Hmph." Uriel snorted. "All these losses just because someone was careless enough to be having sex in a goblin infested mountain cave."
"I think this is just unfortunate." Ganza uttered.
Ming Sheng heaved a sigh of relief. At least now Xiao was free of suspicion. Xiao had truly gotten lucky. She was under the effect of truth-divulger potion. Whatever was asked of her, she'd reply truthfully. Had Ganza asked 'did you kill Han?', Xiao would have replied: 'yes'. And that would have been the end of her. But she got really lucky and evaded death narrowly.
"We have endured heavy losses on this mission." Ming Sheng sighed and spoke. "Bishop Han Mo died. His wingwoman went through several ordeal and turned into a nymphomaniac. Bishop Lyra lost her limbs and mind. Wyre battalion was entirely wiped out. Wingman Kyle died in the ambush and Deodomus who was sought as wingman material has also perished. Our losses are too severe." Ming Sheng continued. "I wonder how the Consulate will compensate its members?"
Trinity exchanged glances again. This was no longer an easy matter. Xiao's group was on a mission given by the Consulate. Not only there were only 3 people remaining now; part of their misery was brought about by Trinity themselves. Once Consulate learns of the details, Trinity might have to face the elders' anger and bear some fines. Ming Sheng was demanding compensations too. Now if Trinity helped this remainder force, they might be able to walk out of this mess and even gain appreciation in the Consulate.
"We'll report this matter to the Consulate of course and they will certainly hand out compensation. But since we ourselves are representatives of the Consulate here at this point of time, let us help you." Chen said tacitly.
"I'm delighted to hear this. What help do you intend to give us?" Ming Sheng asked.

"…! Then I'll be in your care." Ming Sheng smiled and cupped his hands. Even though he was much older than Ganza, in the world of cultivation, only power was the standard of seniority. Since Ganza was both a doctor and a warrior, he naturally was above Ming Sheng.
"Haha, then let's drink together!" Ganza offered and brought out a wine bottle and cups.

"All those drugs were created by me and were either forced upon her by lord Han Mo or fed sneakily by others. One drug in particular turns pain into pleasure for her. Its effect is rather permanent. Chen was a specialist in observation and information gathering. He deduced in just a day that they were in a safe place and could stay there for a long while.
Then Ganza and Ming Sheng exchanged their knowledge for a few days. They were both Empyrean doctors professing in potions and pills. While Ming Sheng leaned towards healing and inventing biochemical potions which could be used in combat; Ganza had leaned towards alcohol and their numerous usages. He invented his own liquors. Some could heal diseases, some boosted immunity and strength while most of them had battle usage. At the same time, both men were well versed in all sorts of orthodox potions and pills used for numerous illnesses.
Afterwards they brainstormed on the regeneration pill recipe and tried to improvise it. Meanwhile Yana had fallen in love with Uriel smoothly. They both had fire element constitution. This was a match made in heaven. Uriel promised to marry Yana and at the same time declared her his wingwoman. Yana easily forgot about Deodomus and spread her legs for Uriel.

"…I see." Xiao frowned while smiling. It was quite a rapid summary.
"We'll tell you the details soon." Ming Sheng said.
