Chapter 19: Chapter 19
"You know it is kind of awkward to forcefully experiment on your nephews and niece," I said as I worked as Daedalus' assistant on the project.
While it was a bit grating on my pride to admit, Daedalus was far smarter than me and his knowledge was on another level. Still not smart enough not to be mind-controlled though. I chose to work as an assistant to get more experience and make sure Daedalus isn't too zealous with the brats.
"You get used to it after a while. Let's get back to the project. We can't directly manipulate the ichor in our blood but we can use science to boost the human parts which will cause the ichor to mutate as well. I doubt the project would increase the abilities of your parent but it will make you a peak human and as I said it will cause your demigod side as well" He said as he worked, taking notes on his computer on the chemicals he injected into the demigods.
For this time period, his equipment was surprisingly modern. He was an inventor after all and would obviously create things that would help him invent. After ordering he even created gym equipment that was on the level of my previous worlds. I usually would go to the gym at least an hour every other day which just seems lacking compared to my few hours every day. But I had a human physique back then and not one of a demigod.
Because of the time dilation, he has been working on the project for a while and we were already at the stage where we could test. The female demigod I got, wouldn't be too helpful since we needed it to work on me and I have the biology of a male.
"Do we even need females? Should I get rid of her or will we use her to get more data?" I asked.
"I thought we were going to test it on a female so you could use it on your partner," He said.
I thought about it for a minute and shook my head. While I trusted Iliana, I didn't want her on my level, my physical strength, combat skills and intelligence are one of the few things that I have an advantage over her, and this serum would void two of those maybe all three depending on the side-effects.
"No, we won't go that route, though maybe we could develop a bootleg version that I might gift her in the future," I thought. We continued working while I cast spells to give me a great deal of detail on what is happening to their bodies.
"Noted, so I should keep this project secret from her," He asks, causing me to shake my head.
"She already knows I kidnapped these kids, she will understand that it won't work on a female without more development if she ever desires it. Plus my little witch isn't that ambitious and is loyal enough," I replied, if I couldn't trust her with a few things, I couldn't trust anyone in the world and that would be maddening.
"Interesting. Back in my day, my loved ones weren't so accepting. My own mother cursed me because I killed my nephew, can you believe that. Choosing my nephew above her own son," He said with vitriol and self-hate, and I just shook my head. This was a can of worms I certainly didn't want to open.
"People have more familial loyalties these days than those of the past, maybe your mother wouldn't even have cursed you," I said ignoring my own lack of familial loyalties. I may have hesitated to perform such heinous crimes on my siblings, but the children of my siblings are free game.
Speaking of family, it was time to reinforce my control of my wayward relative. "Daedalus, you enjoy serving me and see no problem doing so. If you notice anything weird about it, report to me for more conditioning. You wish to die and wish to impart your knowledge onto your apprentice me, before finally kicking the bucket."
I gave him other commands as well but that was the gist of it. I made him suicidal to rationalize the commands, but I didn't have plans for his death just yet.
"Good, now it is time to get back to work,"

One of the boys had been given the beta serum, so now we were just studying its effects. I meanwhile, went on to do some business of my own and that was hunting down more demigods. The first batch of human test subjects usually doesn't last too well.
After my business though, I made my way back to my hometown by plane. My purposes were simple enough and that was to finish off someone I had a grudge on, the cyclops to be specific. He was the cause of plenty of nightmares and while he caused a lot of motivation, I still wanted him dead or at the very least miserable.
It took some time to find him, but fortunately, with the use of my monsters and divination, I finally found him. He was just relaxing, feasting on some unlucky bloke.
"Time to initiate classic villain speech before engaging my opponent," I said aloud as I walked into the cyclops' grove. "Yo, long time no see, my old friend."
"Who are you," It growled at me for interrupting his meal.
"You don't remember me, that is quite hurtful, but it is fine, I have a funny idea that you would make it up for me in the future," I said before dodging his attack and channelling power into my bracelet causing my weapon to change into its proper form.
It tried to grab me but with a swipe, I got rid of his hand. It was satisfying, seeing the beast that made me fear for my life whimpering at the pain. "I thought of killing you, but I may have a better idea."
This was t the first monster I interacted with and legitimately feared, so he would be a perfect ingredient for my immortality ritual since rituals are better when your sacrifices have a connection to you.
"I'll kill you," It growled, but I was done playing around, so I extended my arms and with a quick chant lightning began sprouting out of my hands. I controlled the voltage so that it would only knock him out rather than kill him.
'Time to pay Iliana's dad a visit as well, since I need a sacrifice for Iliana too. From what I know about the man he had a massive hate boner towards the supernatural and may have been abusive towards my friend. Will that be enough for her to sacrifice him though,' I thought before shaking my head, I will cross that bridge when I get there.
