Chapter 101: Psijic intervention
"I don't mind waiting , after all i have all the time in the world." eve said with a wide smile. alastair could only shake his head "it's your life , do as you wish." he said calmly. before either of them could say anything else the space near them rippled and a purple portal opened up before the same psijic monk as previously appeared. eve took a defensive position while alastair looked at the breton with an irritated expression. "what do you want?" alastair asked with visible snark. the monk looked at eve seriously before turning to look at alastair.
"You act as if i also want to be here but you keep poking your nose in places that makes the order uncomfortable." the monk snarked back obviously just as irritated by the situation as alastair. "the only thing i was told to leave alone was the eye , which i did and now you lot seem unhappy about the rest of my choices." alastair complained. the breton sighed "look i understand that having me show up all the time because of our own mistakes can quickly get irritating , but we are truly trying to do the best we can for the world." he said seriously.
Alastair calmed himself down "look i get that , seriously i do but you have also got to understand that without a literal list of things not to do this situation is just going to keep happening." he said calmly. eve poked her nose i at this point "uhm not to seem rude but are you from the psijic order?" she asked the monk curiously. "i am weaver lorean of the psijic order." the monk said while looking at eve with a conflicted expression. "i see but why is the psijic order interfering with alastair i don't understand." she voiced her confusion.
Lorean looked at alastair when he was posed that question "it would be best if he explains since even the order only knows of his actions on nirn but none before." he said seriously. alastair looked serious "are you sure i should explain such a thing to her , the knowledge may break her." he questioned seriously. lorean nodded "you have already changed her fate to the point we needed to interfere so you may as well tell her how." he said calmly. alastair looked at eve seriously "what do you know about the form of your world?" he asked.
"Well there's nirn and the rest of the heavenly bodies , then there's oblivion and aetherius and the void right?" she asked confused at the question. alastair nodded "you are missing some parts but mostly right. now what most people are unaware of is that beyond this there are an uncountable number of other worlds both similar and different than nirn and i along with my group travel between them. this means that we exist outside the pattern of fate of the worlds we visit and as a result we do things that should have never happened according to fate."
Eve was shocked at this knowledge as it defied everything she knew about the world but she saw that even the psijic monk wasn't denying it. "so my release?" she voiced her concern. alastair sighed "if you followed fates plan you would be sealed until such time as that box fully decayed or you killed yourself." he said sadly. "but why what did i do to deserve such a thing?" eve asked angrily. alastair shook his head " fate doesn't care about whether someone deserves their fate only that the pattern moves forward your situation is not unique in this regard." alastair explained sadly.
"In my original world i myself was not capable of leaving my apportioned fate until my important role was done after which i left that world and shrugged off all of fates chains." he said with a bit of sadness. "so you rescuing me?" eve asked with a hopeful expression. "in theory you are now outside of fates weave but i believe it is only a matter of time before you get shuffled back in somehow." alastair said honestly. "so for now i'm truly free ,like you?" she asked eagerly. alastair nodded "in theory yes but beware the more you interact with others the faster fate drags you back under control and not even the gods are excluded in this." alastair warned solemnly.
