Chapter 59: Saturday

I woke up in the middle of the night with cramps and an urgent need to urinate. I turned on the light and peeked inside my undergarments, and found that they were freshly stained red. Calculating backwards, it seemed to have come a little early. Perhaps the strain of running for my life had something to do with that. It was yet one more tiny negative effect that the prejudice of humans had on my life, and a tiny reminder of why it was important to keep my true identity hidden.

Every night I made sure to empty my bladder before being locked into my prison cell of a room. Even if I had to relieve myself during the night, the need wasn't so great that I couldn't go back to sleep and wait for the morning. I tried to hold it in, but this time I couldn't. I hesitated only for a moment before knocking loudly on my door.

"Jacob!" I called out loudly.
