Chapter 4: A Happy New Friend
"Hello, my name is Sasha Mirian, I am pleases to make your acquaintance. Could I now have your name?" Said in sync with the bending and raising of her head.
"Mine is Amber, and this is Peace Beast Meadow. We very rarely have any kind of guest or disturbances, that is how we came into the name of Peace Beast Meadow. I mean, the meadow is quite pretty as well."
"Yes I have seen it on my way into town I would have to agree, soo beautiful."
After some moments of silence and just staring at each other, one opens her mouth and let out words that can't be taken back.
"What clan are you from?"
Sasha flinched at the idea of Amber's question and what that all would imply if she said the wrong things. Thinking for what felt like a century, Sasha frozen by that question. 'What was it that mommy said, Mother.. Mother said her mother was a tiger girl maybe should I say I'm a tiger like grandmother…"
"Hmm…" Thinking well and hard, "O you must not know which to choice from , is that it?" Looking helpful and kind.
"Well yes that is the case, my mom was a tiger and my dad was an ape. So which would I picks? Would it be tiger and ape?"
"Hmmm an interracial child well I believe the fathers is the clan the kid would take. So that makes you a member of the ape clan."
"O thank you soo much for helping me figure that. It has been a question weighting heavy on me for a while."
"Well of course you don't need to be thanking me."
"So since we have figured that I'm from the ape clan, what clan are you from? I have wonder that since I saw you out in the street."
"I'm from the bear clan. No one important sadly, but it is quite comfortable that way."
"Why would you say it like that Amber? Is there something with the bear clan I should know?" Eyes lingering on Amber, looking for answers.
"Well when it comes to the bear clan, they are quite the unruly and pushy group. They tend to fight for everything and their girls aren't quite the nicest and get weird looks. I mean they call us the closest to real beastmen and spoiled brats, they don't normally call females spoiled brats but the bear clan's reputation is just that low."
"Well I see why you wouldn't be the happiest to talk about the clan you are from when everyone thinks so bad of your clan like that."
"That be the reason, well the reason I moved to the Peace Beast Meadow, well that and trying to get away from my brother and father. I mean my mom was arrogant sure, but she was far from the worst in the clan."
" I can attest to that statement, guys can be quite arrogant and cocky. From what I have seen here it is not much different. I mean what was up with that Luke fellow anyway? So quick to think I would chose him?"
"You must be from far away to have no idea about Luke and Tyme. Where did you say you were from?"
"I'm from a place far pass the mountains in the distance. I came a long way and before that I only had my mom. So I am not much in the way of a normal female."
"Well my mother did say I had the best manners of all the bear clan females, so why don't you learn the more normalcy's from me. We could use tonight to get you more well custom to these customs."
"O that would be lovely. O and maybe telling me more about the ape clan, as you could tell I know only the basis things about the culture."
"Hmm, where to start then? Maybe the recent events and the two fine males already pining for your attention."
"Must we really speak of two bold buffoonish male I had unluckily encountered as I reached here. I mean I found them middle of a fight, reason I question the peace in the Peaceful Meadows."
"Well we all aren't like them, they are special and extremely different cases than us."
"Are they really that special to warrant such foolish actions and arrogance? I mean even the bird, well the falcon too. It wasn't like it was just the tiger's thing." Her voice raised in annoyance just below a shout.
Surprised and yet refreshed by Sasha's outlook on those two, she smiled. "Well now I know I'm not mad for thinking the same thing if those two. I have long thought they kept their arrogance as both the best and worst of them. Sure useful in a fight and show of power, but not for courting a female. I mean how would that look, especially after facing a willful and spirited individual like yourself. Not like the relatives of the kings and well marked fighters could just snatch the female they want."
Completely shocked by what Amber had said, "Related to the kings, you mean the Current King of Tiger and the King of Birds or however you would put it? I could have never thought that be the case, for them to be so close to power." Still thinking about how foolish they both seemed to her
"Well what can we do? They are quite the foolish lot, kinda why they ended up out here. Sad don't you think, their fathers said they needed to grow into men and sent them off."
"Sounds bout right to me, but seems that elder fox has yet to see to them maturing much once getting here? At least that's what I'm thinking in my head."
"O stop that would be the case, what are you a good of character? You know quite the lot for knowing so little haha but thats ok I can tell you even more."
Amber and Sasha continue to chat happily through the night til they were sleeping. They covered the names of the major points of the land and water they called home, the clans and all the public business they had. They even chatted more about the reputation and relation between the clans.
"So to make sure you had this right, some time ago the old Tiger king had his daughter and some extraordinary ape men become mates. Is that what I'm hearing here Amber?" Looking shocked and excited in old gossip.
"Yes and everyone had their own ideas of what became of the couple. I mean some say it was for the gain of power and others say it was true love, I very much couldn't say much myself."
"What, really? Well it was some time ago wasn't it? Well is there more you could tell me about the couple, I mean so I could come to my own conclusion and what could have happened or why they got together."
"Well they were a pretty well matched couple and never seemed to have troubles, they had several kids. Now with that they had less than most other ape clan couples but they raised their children correctly."
"O my this is quite the little tell isn't it? Something you would tell the children as they slept and could gossip about it all night with another. So what of their kids? Could more be said about their children?"
"That was the most interesting part of the story, so they had five kids. Four of the five were male and the other one was female. They said the males grown into amazing members within both clans as their blood had told them to. It was beautiful the families they in turn made."
"Well isn't that lovely for the sons, they were all decent if not extraordinary as people and lovers. I mean the Tiger princess must have been so proud of her sons, but wait why say nothing about the daughter? Did something happen to her? Why isn't there a gallant knight for the little princess?"
Amber's face twisted with the rumors and the theories of what happened to the princess. "As a young one, she was quite special. She seemed to have been gifted in the ape clans mental attacks, so she was revered as a goddess like being within her family and both clans. It was even hinted that she had the roar like her grandfather that could shake the lands, seven times over. She was to have started to meet possible mates. They had very little hope as most weren't quite worthy of their daughter's first time."
"That was what I needed to hear, such a powerful female. What happened to her? Does she live her life out somewhere quiet? I mean she is just incredible in fact." 'Just like mother, this lady must be the woman mother looked up to. My mother's role model's story is so cool, if only I could meet her.'
"Well it's said one day she just vanished into thin air.."
