Chapter 7: False Accusation

I stood there in a daze, stunned by the man's word. I don't recall ever hurting her at all, sure I made her trip but that wasn't enough to cause her such injury.

"Your disciple just got back and is already causing chaos as usual, look what she did to my disciple."

MingXia stepped forward showing her bandaged arm to my master who gazed at it, his expression didn't change the slightest while MingXia was already faking her pain, looking as pitiful as a lonely child.

"What exactly happened?" my master finally asked.

"Master Qui, I met her outside and just like any other disciple, I decided to offer her my greetings but she did this to me instead. I thought maybe we could start afresh since we never got along before but I guess she's not having the same thoughts as I am."

She lowered her head in dismay and I finally understood her plan, she's not only trying to get me in trouble for something I didn't do but also trying to gain my master's sympathy.

A frown formed on my face and now I actually felt like breaking her arm, at least then her accusations will be right.

"Shanxia." my master finally called and I arranged myself properly before heading forward to meet them, staring like I had no idea what was going on, I stood beside my master who didn't glance at my direction making me avert my gaze.

"G...greetings." I bowed but MingXia's master was clearly in no mood for my greetings.

"I want to know your reasons for doing this to my disciple!" he demanded and I averted my gaze.

"If I remember, I don't think I ever did anything to her."

"She must be mistaken cause I never did that to her, what could I possibly gain by hurting her? she's blaming the wrong person." I sounded as polite as I could cause being falsely accused for something I have no idea about was already eating me up.

"Are you trying to tell my master I'm lying?" MingXia sure knows how to turn the tables with such an innocent face but I wasn't going to give in.

"I only said you might be mistaken about the identity of the person who did that to you because clearly it wasn't me, I never called you a liar." I retorted and didn't miss the secret glare she sent my way, of course she was faking it but how do I prove myself innocent of this.

"Are you trying to say we never crossed paths?" she questioned.

"I'm not saying we didn't, we did cross paths but...."

"Did you not get into a fight with me and clear me to the floor?" she interrupted me with another question and my hands balled into fist, she's trying to trap me.

"Yes I did but I only did that cause you pushed little Youlan to the floor." I explained with no hesitation.

"You're lying!"

"Really or should I get little Youlan here so she can also give an account of what happened."

"Did you tell your master about it after something like that happened?" MingXia's master threw the words at me with glaring eyes, enough sign for me to realize he wasn't believing a word I said.

I shook my head, suddenly starting to regret the fact I didn't report to my master about it and besides, he wasn't even around when I got back. "No, I never told my master about it but..."

"Master Qui." MingXia once again interrupted me. "I'm telling you she really did try to hurt me, I mean look at my arm."

She was showing us the bandaged arm once again and I bit my bottom lip, how do I make my master believe I didn't do anything, the fact I didn't tell him about it could add to his suspicion but when I gazed at him, his eyes still remained calm and his expression unreadable.

"Pardon me if I may ask but did you by chance see the wound to know if it's really serious or not?"

I didn't miss the slight change on MingXia's face at Lord Qui's words but her master still disclaimed his question.

"Why would I need to do that??"

"So you haven't seen the wound for yourself?" he sighed. "How will you possibly choose a punishment for my disciple if you're actually clueless about how serious the wound might be."

I gazed at my master, stunned he was talking about punishment, he doesn't believe me either?

MingXia's master seemed to ponder on his words for a while before nodding his head in approval.

"Yes you're right, MingXia unwrap the bandages let's see." he said and I watched her face turn ashen at his words. My master was actually faking concern but I had already guessed out his plans and I tried my best not to smile. MingXia shook her head as she stepped away from us.

"No master Qui, you don't have to worry about anything or getting your disciple punished, I only came here so she doesn't repeat her mistake that's all."

"If that was the complete truth then why were you so determined to prove her guilty if not to get her punished, I also do not stand for such harassment and will accept whatever punishment it is you've planned for her but first...."

With only a few strides he had caught up with MingXia which took her by surprise, grabbing hold of her hand and without waiting for a second, forced the bandages free from her arm.

She gasped and all our eyes landed on her arm wanting to see the injury but the truth was there was actually none, there wasn't even a single scratch, her arm looked perfectly fine.

Her master was left speechless seeing her arm was alright and I felt relieved my innocence was proven. My master fixated his gaze on her tossing the bandages away.

"You falsely accused my disciple for something she didn't do, what made you think I'd fall for such cheap acts." he stated, unable to hide the disappointment in his voice while MingXia remained speechless.

"I....I can explain."

"Explain?!" her master finally decided to cut in. "You lied to me and brought me here to disgrace me?!"

She shook her head in response clearly having no excuses to give, she probably didn't know she'd be caught in her own game.

Her master turned to face lord Qui and bowed. "Forgive me for the wrong accusations I placed on your disciple, due to how she was before I blindly believed this disciple of mine, do forgive me and I'll make sure to punish her myself."

My master said nothing in return, unable to bear the embarrassment any longer, MingXia was being dragged out of my masters hall with a frightening expression, guessing her master really wasn't going to spare her.

I turned to look at my master, wanting to thank him for helping me out but he raised a finger silencing me.

"You don't have to thank me, I knew you couldn't do such a thing." he assured me but still, why was everyone so suspicious of me, what could I possibly have done before I went into a coma, as much as I tried to remember, it never came and always felt out of reach.

"Lord Qui, I don't remember anything, why am I being judged so easily, what abomination did I commit for everyone to suspect me." as much as I wanted to know, I felt nervous to also know about it but my master suddenly held my hands in his.

His action left me stunned and I met his beautiful gaze with a questionable one.

"Come with me, I want to show you something." With that, he took me away with his beautiful fingers entwined with mine.

My cheeks burned up as usual at his sudden touch and the heat from his palm made my body feel electrocuted by some strange current I just couldn't place.

My eyes remained locked on our fingers and I could hear the thumping of my own heartbeat, why was I feeling this way and where is he taking me to?
