Chapter 97: Make the decision

Ren's steps toward the designated court was heavier than the last. He tried to hold himself with confidence and defiance, but the decision he was about to make was weighing him down.

"What's with the faces?" Niel asked, gaze darting between Ren and Misha. "You two look worse than the dead."

Anthon was helping Misha strap on his fingerless gloves, saying, "It's only a matter of time. We've done this playing pretend thing for years now. After this, we'll beat our next opponent to the pulp."

Ren was touched by Anthon's attempt at comfort, even though he was usually not inclined to expressing his emotions. But he had gotten it wrong. "That's not it."

Misha kept silent, proceeding to the front. He was the first to arrive at the court.

"Seriously, what's gotten into you guys?" Niel exhaled, scratching his head.
