Chapter 5: Large Cryo Slime
"Look at those damn Hilichurls that roam a bit close to my house. I hope we can take care of this before we do our commissions." Jack pointed to Hilichurls that occupied the abandoned stall. Jack smiled a bit to find out that he could get his revenge this fast.
"Just four of them… I think we can handle it." Bennett clenched his fist with a confident look.
"Good, you will go upfront while I shoot them from your back. Also, are there any skills you have?"
"You mean my passion overload?"
"Passion overload?"
"Yeah, it's a swift flame strike that I made. I can hold it for a bit and make a stronger attack, but sometimes it fails because monsters attack me first."
Bennett told Jack the skill that he got.
"That's good, how long can you hold on?"
"Not long… 3 or 4 seconds I guess."
"Is that so… Good, use that first. I will cover you."
Jack told his plan after Bennett agreed with the plan. They were moving just like they were planning.
Jack sneakily moved toward a high ground and aimed his bow toward one of Hilichurls. He shot the arrow simultaneously.
His damage was small, but honestly, it's quick and fast to shoot them simultaneously as a wooden shield Hilichurl guarding themself for my shot. At the same time, Bennett used his press skill. He held out for a moment before his pyro became bigger and bigger and, doing a swift flame strike, jumped and gave a final strike with some small explosion that made three Hilichurls blowouts, but he blew out too.
The damage was quite big since his flame strike was a circle strike that hit all of the Hilichurl several times, taking 30 - 40 per cent of their HP. While they fell because of the effect of the explosion, I shot them without any mercy.
Wooden shield Hilichurl had a strong defence skill. Like they raise their shield to block incoming attacks with ease, but they couldn't block someone from behind.
So Jack shot them, so they were guarding. Bennett focused on attacking Hilichurl who was guarding from behind and ignored another Hilichurl.
In the end, it was an easy fight with the party, especially since Bennett had a higher level than Jack.
As their HP was lost, our attack easily destroyed their bodies. Jack always had been fighting slimes, and their death was just like a pop-out balloon. Hilichurl was quite bad…
It was like seeing a gruesome animal corpse.
Even so, Jack needed to take their damaged mask that could become material for ascending.
"That's much easier than doing it alone…" Bennett became quite happy after he finished those Hilichurl.
"Yeah, please take their mask since maybe we need it… hm…" Jack said and heard some noise from above.
Above them, there was a big cliff, and Jack could see some rock falling down at them. No, the falling toward Bennett, who crouched down to take the mask.
"Watch out... "Jack tried to warn Bennet, but the rock struck him.
"Ouch… where is that coming…" Bennett patted his head where the rock struck him.
"Aw… that awful…" Jack couldn't help but comment.
Honestly, how bad luck Bennett had. As far as Jack remembered, he never experienced a rockfall from a cliff like that, but to think Bennett experienced those kinds of accidents with just only passing once.
"Oh well, just eat this and replenish some HP." Jack gave Bennett Teyvat Fried Egg, and Bennett immediately ate the fried egg.
"Um.. thanks. That's awful."
"Yeah, how about we continue our task."
Jack didn't know how to cheer up Bennett. His luck was just a distratous level like in the game—what a poor kid.
They continued walking. Honestly, Jack found a party really convenient since they could explore more efficiently. Jack needed to move around back and forth in the game, but since they have two people. The time to gather material became much easier.
That makes Jack feel happier but too bad for him there was no ore around the road from Mondstadt to Dawn Winery.
At least, he got many berries, mushrooms, sunsettia, and sweet flowers.
Dawn Winery was a chief winery in Mondstadt and specialized in Dandelion Wine, owned by Diluc. There were several vineyards with such delicious-looking grapes.
Jack and Bennett were walking toward the big mansion in the centre of a small hill that was full of vineyards. There was an old man that made their commission.
"Ah… are you adventures? I just want to tend to the grape vines, but there are some slime problems around the winery area. I'm worried that they will demolish my grape vines. So can you chase them off?"
"Ah! Of course, old man. Leave it to us." Bennett answered the old man with a smile, and in response, a look of satisfaction could be seen growing on the old man's face.
"Really, thank you… Just don't tell my son. Okay, I don't want to make him worry."
They walked down toward the lake nearby. From afar, Jack could see several cyro slimes wandering around the coast of the lake.
"Doesn't that… look like dust?" Jack said to Bennett.
The cryo slimes were circling around those dust just like they were waiting for something.
"Um… I think that could be the birth of Large slimes… this is dangerous. The large slimes were quite strong after all. We better stop before that happens."
Hearing that, Jack and Bennett immediately ran toward the slimes. There were four cyro slimes. They were easy to defeat.
Jack didn't really like fighting slimes with a bow, so he took out his new sword and slashed cryo slimes. Bennett used his pyro to burn this cyro slime until nothing was left.
"Huh… that's easy." Bennett said after we defeated all of the cyro slimes.
But Jack could see the dust that felt so cold, and he felt something bad would happen.
"Wait.. why did you say something like that…" Jack refuted Bennett. "That sounds like a flag…"
Not long after, Jack said that… The dust came together and came out from nowhere.
The slimes.
One large cryo slime was a big slime with a cryo armour on top of them. It was like a helmet with a lot of thorns.
There were three cryo slimes too.
Jack slowly held out from his position. As soon as he saw that, the blue slime was as big as a human in terms of height, and its size was just about half of a car.
"What…" Jack whispered, face dripping with cold sweat. There was a bit of fear since Jack knew himself how the large slimes were out of his level.
"Jack, I will fight those large slimes and take care of the small one." Bennett jumped at the large slimes while Jack was stunned for a moment before he followed Bennett and slashed the small slime around the large slimes.
Bennett's pyro attack immediately cut-half slimes armour HP… It was convenient to fight cyro monsters by an elemental pyro attack. But there was one big problem for us.
We fought these cyro slimes in their advantages area. We were fighting in the water.
The large cryo slimes were at a different level than the small ones. They had an elemental attack that launched three ice shards.
"What…" Jack defeated two slimes but was surprised to be attacked by a ranged attack. As once again, Bennett attacked and destroyed the armour. Once the armour is destroyed, the slimes emit some cold mist.
In the game, players could freeze immediately. What actually happened, a bit the same… it just became the bodies colder, hard to breathe and hard to move without becoming an ice-block like the game.
"Ugh… damn."
The large slimes retreated and ran away while emitting those mist.
It was really difficult, especially the large slimes successfully regenerating the armour and jumping high into the air.
"What!' Bennett gave a surprised scream.
"Watch out…" Jack, after he defeated all of the small slimes, ran toward Bennett. Jack could see the red circle around Bennett that showed the landing of the large slimes.
Jack jumped and pushed Bennett and made him get out from the red circle. But even so, the wave that came from the landing of such big slimes made the two of them blow out.
Jack rolled, feeling he was in dangerous situations. He saw with just one or two attacks from slime that made his HP nearly become zero. He needed to thank his system, his bag that became inventory really convenient. The trigger was as long as he touched the bag that inventory could be used.
Jack only needed to think about what he wanted to take out… and in his hand, the Teyvat fried egg came out. Jack ate it at such speed.
"Bennett, this..." Jack called out to his friend, but what he saw was quite something.
Bennett jumped and swung his fist to the large cyro slimes, not only damaging the armour, creating some red field with some symbols. That heals Bennett HP, but also Jack could feel something different as his sword feels hot.
"This… vision? A pyro…" Jack swung his sword, even though not as big as Bennett did. He could see fire around his sword and his sword breaking the slime's armour.
Bennett, not letting go at this moment, attacks the large slime with such swift flame strikes. Jack followed him to attack the slime. They didn't want another chance for this slime to regenerate armour again.
Large slimes that they attacked in every direction couldn't do anything. After it, HP was gone. The slimes vanished in an instant.

"That's really difficult." Jack couldn't help himself to say it as he sat down on the ground. He felt really tired. In his memories, he never fought a large slime in his commission to take out slimes. But, to think he immediately met one when partying with Bennett.
"Really, what awful luck. I really need more preparation if this thing will regularly happen." Jack whispered as his first commission with his new memories had been a success.
