After a good full night's rest, August and his team were ready to leave the next day and report back to Dragon. He was happy he had finally managed to use Shatter fist as he began calling it for the first time, in a live combat scenario no less.
However before he left he had one last thing to do. Recruit Law.
It was in situations like this where August could use his knowledge of the anime to his advantage. He knew what Law wanted, revenge against Doflamingo, and he could use that knowledge to his advantage to get Law to join the Revolutionary Army.
He had already planted a seed a few days back, one telling him he will never get stronger enough to defeat Dofminalgo if he stayed here. However, luckily the Revolutionary Army was here, a strong organisation with the power to help him grow and achieve his goals.
He entered Law's shack, finding the man in question sitting by the fire with an unreadable expression.
"You were right." Law started, not even bothering to turn his gaze.
"In what exactly?"
"In everything. My goals, my burning revenge, and the final statement you made, you were right on all accounts."
August remained silent.
"You still didn't answer my question from the other day. Is it your devil fruit?" Law started, finally turning to look at August in the eye.
August shook his head, deciding to be honest, "It's a power anyone can learn"
His eyes widened, "Can you teach me?"
"Let me ask you a question. If you learn this power, do you think you will be able to get revenge?"
"Maybe not entirely, but it will help me."
"It certainly will, but the problem lies in one thing…combat experience. If your opponent is as strong as he is, then even with this power you will lose. Some things can only be learnt through real combat situations, something which you won't have."
Law was silent for a moment before sighing, "As much as I like to regret it, you're somehow always right. I'm thinking too rashly. Since you seem to always have the answers for everything, let me ask you this, what should I do?"
'Bingo.' August thought.
"Have you heard of the Revolutionary Army?" At Law's nod, he continued:
"Well that's what I'm a part of. I'd like to extend an invitation for you to join."
"Wait, your apart of the army, but I thought you said–"
"I may have lied to you, it seemed like the best choice at that moment, otherwise I would have to spend more time explaining to you that we're the good guys." He sighed, thinking back to the misunderstanding with Yaaj he had.
Law closed his mouth at that, and began to think. August's offer presented him with a choice.
Stay here and continue training or join the Revolutionary army.
He wasn't confident enough in himself to start sailing the seas as a pirate, so those were his only two choices right now, and although he was reluctant, the best choice was obvious. August seemed like a good person from what he had observed and he had a good head on his shoulders.
"Fine…" He grumbled, "But once I'm strong enough and feel the need to leave, I will do so. Ok?"
August just laughed and said, "Do as you will."
In any case, even if Law's presence was temporary, he would be a great benefit to the Revolutionary Army, so it was a win-win situation.

After August finished his goodbyes with the residents of Swallow Island, he departed from the Island in a good mood.
He spent the first couple of hours on the ship sorting everything out before going to his room, promptly bringing out his snail and calling Dragon.
"Moshi Moshi?" [A/N: I had to do it]
"Hello, Dragon it's me, everything has been sorted."
"August! Well done, I trust everything went well?" The deep voice from the other side asked.
"Yes sir, zero casualties on our end." August replied, and Dragon let out a pleased hum.
"That's impressive. I would ask you to come back to base, but another situation has arised."
"You mean Germa 66 again?"
"No, this time it's to do with a Kingdom in the south blue. The Eldian Kingdom is what they call it. A pirate by the name of Darius is trying to overthrow the Kingdom and kill the King."
"Ok…?" August sounded confused, "Won't the World Government just sort it out then? If there's anything they hate equally to us, it's pirates, so they can't have one ruling the Kingdom."
"That's the thing, I believe this is a ploy by the World Government." Dragon's voice sounded tired.
"You think? Why would they do that though?"
"The King of Eldia, Erwin is a very just man, and expresses strong views against slavery and needless violence. The World Government is most likely afraid that Erwin will soon join our cause, so they plan to take care of him using Darius. It's the perfect way to take care of him without any suspicions."
"So the World Government is finally taking caution against us?" August asked with a hint of joy. If the World Government was taking countermeasures against them, then they were doing things right.
"Yes, I'm happy too, but that's not the point. If we allow this to happen then we will lose a crucial ally, something we can't afford at this stage in the game. The time before we declare war is fastly approaching, so we need king Erwin on our side."
"So you want me to go? You would trust me that much?"
"I said I would trust you more before I took you to Survival Island right? You proved yourself against Germa 66, now replicate that performance against Darius and his crew. I'm sending details of the mission through the snail right now, good luck."
His snail printed out a piece of paper detailing the location of the Island, the details of the pirate crew, and various other things.
At that moment Law walked in the door and August looked at him with a bright smile.
"You up for another adventure?"
Law sighed. He was beginning to regret his decision already.
