Chapter 97: Chapter 97 - Asuma's Team on the Hunt
Just as Kakashi and Yamato were getting worried about Naruto, like magic the big Kyubi revert back to Naruto who now had his eyes opened and let go of Ren's sword.
Then Naruto ask to Yamato "Yamato-taicho can you make the waterfall bigger, I need more clone if I want to master this fast" and Kakashi worried asked "Naruto are you okay? And what happened?" and he replies "I'm fine Kakashi-sensei, Ren just helped me meet my dad, and now I know what I have to do"
Kakashi shocked by Naruto revelation says "...So...you know?" and Naruto just nodded, then Kakashi say to Yamato "Can you do it?", and Yamato with some difficulties enlarge the waterfall, and soon Naruto return to training after making more clones.
Then Ren seeing that everything was in order says "Kakashi-san, I'll send Karin back home...see you later" looking at Ren's back Kakashi muttered "How mysterious...well at least he is on our side"
Meanwhile, in the Fire Temple, a large ninja temple in the Land of Fire that strongly resembled the Shaolin Monastery, surrounded on three sides by mountains and a large field to the south.
There were many statues and images of both Karasu and Yamabushi Tengu, including two statues on either side of the front gates, but now signs of battle could be seen everywhere and most of the buildings are destroyed.
Six people could be seen talking surrounded by coffins, four are shinobi from Konoha, they are Asuma, Shikamaru, and the gatekeeper duo Kotetsu and Izumo, the other two are the surviving monks, Asuma then asks "So...where is Chiriku's body" and one of the monks replies "To tell you the truth, we didn't find his body anywhere"
Then Izumo remind everyone that Chiriku had a bounty on his head, and Shikamaru ask if there were any bounty station nearby, Izumo checks his notebook and says "The nearest one is about two days away from here" and so they move, but not before being warned by the older monk.
The next day, at Konoha training grounds, we can once again see the figure of Kakashi, Ren and Yamato watching over the two hundred Naruto, doing the last phase of his training, merging the Rasengan, and Wind Nature Chakra, soon an explosion was heard, and many Naruto were thrown away by the strong winds.
Then the many Naruto got up and once again started training, while Yamato muttered "Right now I feel so useless, I joined the training team to help control the Kyubi's Chakra, but with Ren here, It didn't happen even once..." and Kakashi "Isn't this a good thing?".
And Ren looking at the scene thought 'This is so boring...I could have spent this time with my family or with Karin...oh hell with it...spoiler for the win' then he looks at the hundreds of Naruto and yells "Naruto! Your Chakra control sucks, so why are you making harder for yourself, just make another clone to help you with the Nature, this way, One clone control Shape, One control Nature, and you control Output, and be done with it!".
Naruto looks at Ren in wonder, then like he received enlightment he yells "That's right -Dattebayo" and soon started again this time with two clones, meanwhile Kakashi and Yamato looked a Ren, especially Yamato with his dead eyes stare.
And Ren explains "He learned the Rasengan with a clone as a support, I think it is natural that he learn this one with two, after all this is more complex, of course only Naruto has the Chakra to learn it this way" then Kakashi said "I'm starting to like you..." and Ren "Sorry I'm taken...but I think that Yamato over there or Gai-san suit you better..." and Kakashi "I do not mean that way...and I'm straight" and while this happen the day pass with Naruto moving closer to master the new Rasengan.
Meanwhile, in a forest near a bounty station, we can see Asuma's team looking at on of their targets, a tall young man with medium-length grey hair that was slicked back and distinctive purple eyes, wearing the classical Akatsuki cloak, but his is slightly open showing his Yugakure forehead protector around his neck and Jashin amulet, also showing that he has no shirt on, with grey pants and ninja sandals, and on his back a huge Triple-Bladed Scythe, he was sitting on the steps waiting.
Taking a good look at him Shikamaru says "This is bad, from the information that the Hokage gave us he is Hidan, he is literally immortal, an expert in close and medium range combat, and he uses jujutsu, for it, he needs the blood of his victim, then he needs to stand on a symbol draw on the ground, the effect of this curse is to in some way "link" his body with his opponent, so that every damage he takes hurts his opponent too..."
And Asuma continues "What is even worse is that his partner is Kakuzu, the man you need to kill 5 times, and he is strong at close, medium and long distance combat, and able to use all five Chakra natures with proficiency and has a hell lot of experience as from what the info says he is just some years younger than the first Hokage...we need reinforcement...Izumo contact the nearest team, tell them to meet near here, meanwhile we keep following them from a safe distance".
After a few minutes another tall man with tan skin with unusual eyes color, green irides, no pupils and red sclera, he don a black mask over his lower face, and a grey hood which covered his hair, and wear the classic Akatsuki cloak, the Takigakure forehead protector with a scratch in the middle which symbolized that he was no longer loyal to it, and grey pants with matching shinobi sandals, he is of course Kakuzu.
After talking for some seconds they move on their journey, as the Asuma's Team follow them in the distance, after a few minutes they are joined by another team, all wearing the classic Konoha ninja attire, the one leading them has short brown hair, dark-coloured eyes, his face is full of vigor, he is Gekko Hayate, now back in full health thanks to Ren, the other one slightly behind him is a young woman with long brown hair which she wears in a ponytail with two locks of hair framing her face over her large, black eyes.
She also wears a light shade of lipstick and has the traditional fang-like tattoos of the Inuzuka clan on both of her cheeks, in addition to a tattoo on her upper right arm that resembles a flower, she wears a form-fitting variation of the Konoha flak jacket which doesn't have any chest pockets and she keeps the front of her jacket unzipped, exposing her cleavage, she also wears a pair of form-fitting shorts cut just above the knee, bandages just below her tattoo and wrist-warmers, and is followed by 3 Ninken, all three have grey fur with white undersides and short pointed ears and mostly resemble Huskies, she is Hana Inuzuka with the Hanimaru Brothers
The other two have almost the same appearance both have brown hair, but Taro's hair is smooth on one side but spiky on the other, and contrary to his gentle and timid appearance he has a rather harsh personality, while Jiro's hair curves over to the right side of his head and ends in a few spikes of hair, he too has a contrasting character and appearance, while he looks kind of rash and impulsive, he is the more calm and calculative brother.
And so Asuma and Hayate's team join together and keep following after the Akatsuki due till they reached a mountain near the border of the Land of Fire, once there, the duo, went in a cave and sealed the entrance.
While keeping an eye on them Asuma asked "What do we do now we attack or wait for them to come out? I'm leaning more on attacking now, because if we keep procrastinating we will lose momentum" but before Shikamaru could say anything and Asuma was starting to make his plans know to the others, Hayate holds Asuma shoulder and with a worried and absolutely serious face he says "Wait a moment Asuma-san, before you start, I have to ask a really important question to you, it is a matter of life and death ...I have noticed something strange from your behavior, is Kurenai-san pregnant?"
And Asuma stood there in shock while the others looked in silence, then after a few second he asks "How do you know? I just learned of this shortly before the mission we didn't have the time to tell this to anyone yet..." then Hayate let out a sigh and then says "So the curse is true after all...in what terrible world we live..." then he started explains his own experience with the curse, and how he made a beginner mistake after another that almost cost him his life, and how he was helped by his student pass through that hard period.
Listening to Hayate story and his experience with the curse, everybody was shocked, Asuma's cigarette fell onto the ground and his mouth was wide open then he realized the mistake he was making 'My God what is wrong with me... I was about to rush to attack an enemy clearly stronger than us in his home ground with little preparation... I'm a fucking jonin, I have the info on the enemies abilities, and one of the smartest strategical mind near me, and I plan a fucking assault instead of an ambush to divide the enemy force and deal with them with as little loss as possible?... Thank God, Hayate was here to warn me'
Then he says to everyone "With this new situation, I feel that I'm in no condition to plan and lead the attack, Hayate-san if for you is okay I want to give the command to you, but I think that the planning of the attack should be done by Shikamaru" and Hayate "I have no problem with that, Shikamaru-kun what do you think".
