Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Devil's Whisper
"What kind of devil's offer is it..?"
"It's something really simple, something we both of us will benefits~ A once in a lifetime offer~"
Once in a lifetime offer? What could she possibly be talking about? Kendrick drank the dried saliva stuck on his throat before glaring his bladders on her.
"Be serious and tell me what you came for."
Silvia Frost shrugged her shoulders and sighed. She seems to have lost the happy go lucky looks in her face. Her beautiful pale face looks so dead serious now in turn.
"You're a boring man. You know, boring men are the most unattractive ones, just reminding you. You keep being like this, and I promise you, you won't be able to live in a few years."
Silvia Frost paused for a moment, and coughed a few before resuming her business.
"I'll get straight to the point. Dan Alastair, I like you, I want you to be mine!"
HUH?
'DID I MISHEARD HER??'
Did she just say she wants me to be her man? What? Kendrick's thoughts couldn't process enough to take input of what just unfold. He seemed to be rather dumbfounded by what he just heard.
Kendrick couldn't find words to say…
Silvia Frost broke the silence and stood up before massaging his pale, all muddy cheeks. Her eyes were filled with interest, as if she was looking at what she claims to her's. Kendrick couldn't stop shivering in fear. It feels even more weird and creepy knowing what kind of person she was
"Dan~ What about it~? Are you interested in becoming mine~?"
Silvia's pretty snow blue eyes gleamed in the dark, it looked so pretty, like staring right into light in pure darkness. Her silver hair looks so devilish upon contact.
It was a tempting offer. If he accepted it, he could be safe from being in conflict with the main story. Since he was part of it now, he knew if he survived today, it wouldn't be long before he dies or be killed but…
'There's no way I'll accept such an offer… Especially when it's coming from her.'
Silvia waited for his response in all excitement. It's a win-win situation for him in truth. If he becomes her man, she'll be safe from events and all but. Although it's a very tempting offer, Kendrick knew it'll be so much worse if he were to partner with her. Considering soon enough, she will also meet her downfall according to the original story, if the same story follows as the game.
The underground prison was followed up by an extremely long silence. There were only two weak sounds around, and those were, Kendrick rough breathing and the very calm, confident demeanor from Silvia.
"I'm sorry but I'll have to say 'no'."
Silvia sighed once more before extracting her hand from his cheeks. Her eyes were gleaming with bloodlust but she remained calm amidst and never lost her cool.
"I thought so. That's a shame."
She never expected she would be rejected. Her out of all people. Such a thing lingers in her mind and she just couldn't accept it.
Silvia clenched fist before turning her back on him. Her silver hair glows so bright in this pure darkness prison. She looks like a knight and shining armor in the middle of the night.
"It's a shame, I really liked you, you would have been a fine husband or servant, and I really would be upset if you die."
Silvia's sweet and very intimidating voice took a sudden turn and turned very cold. She almost sounded like a very tyrant king.
"Well, that doesn't matter now, don't expect you'll be alive in years after this. After rejecting me. No one has ever rejected me ever in my life. I swear, I'll make you pay."
And once more, footsteps rang all over the place. It's like music in the ears, so calming yet fascinating. Silvia started walking away from Kendrick.
And before she had left, she left him something useful.
"If you're worried whether you'll die today, don't worry, I've already got you proven innocent. I thought you wouldn't reject such an offer from a beautiful young lady… What a shame. Goodbye."
And with her farewell, her back disappeared into the distance and soon became pure darkness.
Now all that's left is him, and the pure darkness prison. It was lonely that she was now gone but Kendrick felt more at ease.
"Pheeww… Just when all this irritating things will leave me alone?"
Kendrick swore to himself that he'll never do such a foolish thing ever again. At the last second, he wasn't actually considering helping her out but due to his guilt, he ended up saving Princess Ruri. Now, he won't know what will happen to the original story. Supposedly, the Princess will die and it would follow the original story. Whereas the main character would live a very rough life, full of sufferings, in which she would grow stronger through pain and trials but, now that she was saved, Kendrick was dead sure. All the information he knows won't be pretty much helpful in months.
At least, if he survived today like Silvia had said, he's sure he'll be able to survive a few months of changes, but as Silvia also said, since he ruined a big plan and got in the way of the original story, he's pretty much sure he won't survive for long.
That's how cruel this world is. The otome game he loathed so much.
In this world, he can't trust anyone, even the most kind person could be two faced like Silvia. Everyone is a menace. Which means, he can't assure his safety.
"For now, I gotta find a way to survive out of this…"
Not that his future matters at the moment, he's probably going to be executed today. There's no way he would believe the words of a villain, so he's pretty sure, he wouldn't be able to get out today in the prison in one piece.
Kendrick slowly falls into slumber while deep in thoughts. He was so worried to death, he even fell asleep. It was a miracle he could even sleep in such a situation.
The darkness loomed over as he fell deeper into hibernation.
