Chapter 40: Chapter 40 A-OK

As I heard those words my heart which had just stopped racing began its acceleration. When Julian saw my worried look, he sighed as he gazed at me.

Then he lifted his hand and it made its way to my face, caressing it.

"Are you worried?" He asked and I nodded truthfully.

"I am scared that she might not like me. And if she doesn't, you might also leave me." I told him. I didn't want to hide anything from him because my fear was eating me up. I was scared just thinking of it...I couldn't bear it.

His gaze intensified as he looked at me.

"I would never leave you. I am still feeling grateful as you accepted me, so please never think about it." He smiled and then he tugged my hair to the back of my ear.

"Besides no one will ever reject a beauty like you. Even the devil cannot ignore you, Jessica." He said and with those words, I felt calmer. My heartbeat stopped its acceleration and my body and mind relaxed.
