Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Development During Combat
The next day after the field trip, everyone had met in the park. Orchid was wearing a beautiful blue dress that complimented her long blue hair, white antlers, and her satyr legs which seemed to be made of white wood. She wasn't born a satyr, but she likes them so she mimics their legs with her powers to run faster and jump higher.Her brother Raymond had black hair that he dyed himself, and an outfit that made him look like a game avatar. A specialized outfit and baggy pants similar to Isobu's, but he was wearing black shoes and had on head gear that seemed like headphones. Anji was wearing long white kimono sleeves, and pants that stop halfway down his foreleg and wore Taoist shoes. All of them discussed their powers, and what they wanted to do with them. "You know." Eve started "Maybe we can show our parents that we can be responsible with them. We should be vigilantes!! The Meta Squad!" she yelled out. All of them were surprised that it was actually a perfect idea. Their own super club where they can help the police their own way. "We're already in our super outfits really. Minus Suzaku, he rushed. I'm helping so brace yourself for kickass epicness later. Also, where's Kurama? Sly fox is always late." he said looking around. He then saw a tuff of pink fur attempting to hide in a bush. Anji levitated it and it was a boy with pink hair, orange fox like eyes, five long fox tails, and was wearing a blue shirt with white shorts. He always had a sneaky smile on his face, and seemingly had sneaky plans all the time. "Sorry, I was just having a little fun. I heard what you said, and I agree with it. Let's make a headquarters." he said in a flirtatious and excited tone. But then they all came to the realization that they had no where to actually build it.
After they went to Harris's house, they discussed the fine details of the plan. "I think that we should all have code names so no one identifies us." Suzaku said thinking of some names. "I got it. Isobu can be Shocker, Eve can be Sanctus, Anji can be Theotita-" he was interrupted by Anji. "Hold it bro, I'm not using a Greek name. And Shocker sounds completely forced." he said in a bit of frustration. Isobu wrote down his own name, which was Shinrai. Ray went with Techno, and Orchid went with Sage. Anji went with Starlight. That just left Kurama and Suzaku. Kurama picked Tamamo, and Suzaku picked Vermilion, which is what Suzaku translates to, Vermilion Bird. After that, they all helped Suzaku and Kurama with hero outfits. For Suzaku, they thought about having wear armor, but that would be too bulky. So they went with just thin armor but it was incredibly sturdy, and shorts that would allow him to funnel his power through them. And to finish, a cape cloak that had spell tags on them that he could use, and it would allow him to fly. He agreed to it, and started to draw it out. As for Kurama, they thought a sort of Miko outfit would be appropriate. Mostly the sleevs, and a Hakama bottom with samurai armor that wasn't too bulky, but provided plenty of protection. Kurama added that he would wear a read longcoat with the face of an Oni on the back of it. Everyone had agreed to it, but wondered who was going to make it. None of them knew any crafting, and they definitely had no money to actually buy the parts for it. The could ask their parents, but then that would ruin the whole plan, so they decided to try a different approach, and ask their teacher for help. He was their best bet to actually getting the last two outfits made, and the only one who was good at keeping secrets. They all ran to the school and looked for their teacher, who seemed to be wearing just armor shoulder plating and what seemed to be summer gym clothes, and he also had his massive sword. He looked at them from the corner of his eye, seemingly already knowing of their plan. "Kids, there's two things you need to know about Teacher Zentak. First, I can read minds. Second...I'm not a snitch. I'll help make your outfits if you can promise me if you get injured, you tell me and I'll heal you. Are we understood? Don't need your parents worrying about anything. Deal?" he asked, and all of them agreed.
After about a day, he had made the last two outfits, which fit them perfectly. They loved how the outfits made them feel powerful, and when night fell, they snuck outside and patrolled the city. After running (and flying) on rooftops, they all waited by the late night sandwich store, a little disappointed that they didn't find any crimes in progress. "Well, no one said our first patrol was going to be fruitful. We'll go for one more hour and then just go home." Kurama said as he finished his sandwich. After they all finished (at the same time), they went back on patrolling in different directions. Then Eve ran into a biker gang committing a robbery. She ran up to them trying a superhero pose. "Halt villains! Don't you dare-" she got cut off with a bike chain almost hitting her in the face. She froze a bit and stood up straight, realizing that she doesn't have a weapon to use. The bikers just laughed at her and the leader grabbed her by the wrists and looked at her in a perverted way. "Oh I had enough of this bullshit." she said as she swiftly kicked him in the chin, forcing him to let go of her. She then took a sturdy Praying Mantis stance and started to fight all of them off one by one with little effort. Then Isobu came in to help, using moves similar to breakdancing and had very strong kicks. All that was left was the leader, who was giving off a sinister aura and had a possessed look in his eyes. "Damn. This doesn't look good. You wouldn't happen to know any exorcism spells would you? Cause if not, we're supremely screwed here. Also, nice take down of the goons." Isobu said clearly nervous. Using their powers would just be a beckon to signal their parents. Eve tried an exorcism rite, but it didn't work on the biker leader. He just laughed and charged at them both. Eve and Isobu both dodged his swift attacks, but he started to get faster with his chain. Isobu was about to use his lightning when Kurama dive bombed the leader while wearing a black fox mask around the bottom half of his face, and knocked him out with a sleep spell. "We better get out of here, our parents are coming and they're gonna be pissed. Scatter and we'll meet at school." he said before speeding off like the wind. Eve and Isobu did the same, making sure to stay out of sight and not be detected.
After about 30 minutes, Harris and the others met up to see the biker gang all on the floor unconscious. "Well, I can honestly say these foot prints in the leader's face is Eve's, I can tell from the shape. I dunno if we should encourage this behavior, or shut it down. Thoughts?" Harris said, but everyone had a disappointed look on their faces. "Oh come on, not everyone has to be a policeman to stop a robbery." he stated, but Kamai whacked him over the head with his sword. "Idiot, don't make it obvious. We're letting them do this, but we just need...to lay down clues." he said. Harris rubbed his head then punched Kamai into the ground clearly angry. "You could've told me without hitting me jackass. Sheesh, always hit first and ask second with you." he said still rubbing his head. Quason picked Kamai up. "You guys don't have to pretend anymore. We know about the marriage. Honestly it was about time you cemented this thing, it's been almost a good 4 years." he said. Kamai blushed a bit. "Look, it's not that easy. I'm not..comfortable with everyone looking at me saying I love someone. Now help get these bodies out of the street." he said as he started to move the bikers out of the street and tied up next to the police station door.
The next day everyone got up and went to the park again to talk about what had happened. "So..." Isobu started. "Wanna talk about how we barely even made it that time and pulled rookie mistakes? No weapons, no communication, no plan of action. That was a major fail." he said rubbing the back of his neck from the heat. Everyone agreed on that notion. "I think we need to actually practice and not be so reckless and ready to fight. Cause fighting strong people just because it's cool makes you the biggest form of idiot. And what's worse is...we left all our weapons at home." Anji sulked as he went to get an ice cream. Then Quason walked by and dropped Isobu"s kunai next to him. "Forgot something son?" he said smiling. Isobu showed a lot of guilt on his face and everyone else was scared for punishment. But Quason pointed over to a tree house that was made near Harris's house, and teleported them inside of it. The space was larger inside than outside and had a room to learn more magic, a room for combat, and plenty more. It was beautiful, and Tasha was waiting inside while she was adding a few plants inside, like a Venus fly trap plant. "M-mommy? You and daddy made this?" Orchid asked. Tasha nodded. "We already knew you wanted to do this, so why not do it right. And no sneaking out too late on school days understood? Also, don't go easy on some of these crooks." she said. Orchid hugged her while giggling.
