Chapter 2: Prologue(2)

Shinobi

The Next Day.

Deep within the densely packed Seolo Forest, Shisui maneuvered stealthy, a straight-bladed katana in hand.

Not something Shisui would normally use, but it was something he had trained himself in using.

Every step he took made no sound, leaving the silent forest and its inhabitants blissfully unaware of his presence.

Activating his Sharingan, Shisui searched his surroundings; looking for any sign of life. Eventually, finding what he was looking for, the magical signature of monsters who had grouped themselves closely together.

Moving towards the mindless beings while deactivating his Sharingan, Shisui finally arrived on a thick tree branch that was just above the group.

Beneath him, Six sickly-looking green skinned monsters mindlessly roamed around the forest floor, their large red-eyes searching for something to kill and feed upon, in their hands primitive weapons that resembled wooden clubs and sticks shaved into something that was akin to spears rested, some holding dried drops of crimson liquid.

Adjusting his hold on his sword, Shisui adopted a stance that would aid him in his next action.

Finding the closest Goblin, Shisui's arm reeled back and with one swift throw; his sword pierced the head of a club-wielding Goblin and the tree behind it shortly after.

Dropping from his advantage on the tree, Shisui landed and with precision, he pulled his sword out of the Goblins head, ignoring the crimson-colored liquid that permeated and dripped rapidly off of its sharp edge.

The Goblin nearest to him, screeched at the sight before it; and charged, Shisui however payed no real attention to the creature. Swiftly cleaving the small creature in two with a diagonal slash.

By now, The remaining four Goblins had noticed and semi-comprehended what was happening. And all equally angered by the attack, the four uncoordinatedly charged towards Shisui.

The farthest of the Goblins raised his wooden pike, -intent on skewering Shisui-, and threw it at. However, much to Shisui's amusement, the spear only reached a few feet forward before lodging itself into the back of another Goblin, killing it.

With three of the six Goblins down, Shisui made his way around the area; cleaning up the three swiftly eliminating the remaining Goblins with ease.

Flicking the coagulated-blood off of the tip of his sword, Shisui gazed at the disintegrating bodies of the Goblins.

Over the years and through some observation, He learned from the locals that back before the gods descended; Monsters that escaped the dungeon sometimes rallied in the forest in either big or small numbers. One thing was sure though, not every monster had been killed throughout the forest, simply due to its sheer size and lack of man-power.

The Elf's had been targeting bands of monsters that got too large for their liking, leaving some smaller groups to roam around and deter most people from entering the forest and its surroundings, 'A smart strategy' Thought Shisui.

As Shisui was collecting the Magic Stones from the Goblins, He felt a faint presence approaching him from the cluster of trees opposite of him.

Facing the direction, Shisui awaited the arrival of the newcomer, believing it to be a Elf who was alerted by the sounds of the Goblins death howl's.

However, what stepped out of the forest was the visage of a human man, who appeared to be around his own current age.

The man had two-tone colored hair -half black half white- his eyebrows matching his odd colored hair. Round, black pupil-less eyes that gazed cautiously at Shisui, and attire that was typical for Shinobi in the warring-states period.

Besides that immediate observation, two other things caught Shisui's attention.

Firstly, above the man's black Shinobi attire, he was fitted with segmented, olden era green-armor that covered his chest, shoulders, and groin area. Lastly, The emblem for the famed Senju Clan had been crudely carved onto the upper parts of his shoulder plates.

The man seemed to be going through something similar, As he gazed at the black-haired young man. More specifically, the Uchiha clan crest that was embroidered on the front of his long-sleeved shirt, that was just above Shisui's heart.

"An Uchiha?!" Shisui heard the man mutter in surprise.

The man's face -that had originally been friendly- turned sour. And sub-consciously, His hand went to the hilt of a sheathed Katana that was strapped to his waist.

While Shisui's grip tightened on his Ninjatō.

"Who are you, and why do you wear such armor?" Shisui spoke first, intent on gaining as much information as he could before any sort of conflict arose.

"Itama….Itama Senju. what's your name, Uchiha?" Itama gave his name, however by hints in his body language; Shisui was able to pick up nervousness and discomfort.

"Shisui Uchiha" Shisui plainly answered, leaving the area engulfed in a awkward silence as the two stood, staring at each-other, waiting for any sort of hostile intent to be shown.

After a few moments of silence, Itama's hand slowly moved away from the hilt of his blade, however his eyes never left Shisui.

"I don't wish to fight you Shisui, I'd rather put our clans conflict behind us." Itama said, the discomfort in his voice growing.

However, from his words Shisui was slightly thrown into confusion. " 'Our clans conflict?' That ended long ago." Shisui remarked earning a raised eyebrow from Itama.

"What? Really?!"

The two talked for a while longer, unmoving from their positions of battle readiness.

"So how long have you been in this world old- man?" Shisui jokingly asked, he'd grown calmer in the situation. Leading to him making a few jokes, However his guard never dropped.

"OLD-MAN?!…..I've only been here for 12 years!" Itama remarked with his face dropping into a sulk.

Shisui's demeanor suddenly changed, "Now, I've heard your backstory; of you claiming to be the brother of Hashirama and Tobirama Senju, do you have any proof of this?"

Thinking for a second, eventually Itama slowly brought up his left hand, -Palm facing the sky-, And from his palm, a minuscule tree sapling sprouted.

"Me and Hashirama could both do this when we were younger, I was never as good as him; but I've trained it a bit." Itama said, remembering the fond memories of his elder brother.

Shisui didn't respond, simply gazing wide-eyed at the scene in front of him.
