Chapter 29: Calm on the Deck
The next day
Thirteen was sitting on the Merry, leaning against the railing with his hands behind his head and the Devil Fruit book Zeff had given him. He also had a backpack next to him, Nami said he could take it as it was her sister's anyway.
As the crew waited for Nami and talked amongst each other, Nojiko walked up to the ship and whistled "Tiger boy!" Thirteen turned his head to her and she waved him over. He blinked at her and leaned over the railing of the ship, she smiled and handed him a bag of tangerines, saying "Thanks for saving my life yesterday."
Thirteen took the bag of tangerines and nodded before Nojiko said "Oh yeah! Take this too." as she pulled on her hair ribbon, un-knotting it before laying it in Thirteen's palm. He looked at her and she smiled "Thanks again!" before walking away.
He watched her leave and held the hair ribbon tightly before going back onto the ship and sitting back down. Sanji was suddenly next to him, crouching down as he said "So you got something from Nojiko-chwan, eh?" Thirteen looked at him and nodded, showing him the ribbon.
Sanji grinded his teeth before sniffing the perfume from the ribbon and stumbling back, holding his nose, muttering "Nojiko… Chwan…" as he passed out, falling to the ground. Zoro looked at him and shook his head, saying "Pervert Cook…" Sanji jumped up and shouted "You wanna go, Moss Head?!"
Thirteen ignored them and looked at the book Zeff gave him before turning his attention to Nojiko's ribbon. He put the book in his backpack and tied the red ribbon on the strap before setting it aside and eating a Tangerine, sharing one with Luffy.
Finally, the villagers started making a ruckus and the crew turned to them, seeing Nami running through them quickly as they yelled at her to stop. She continued before jumping as the ship was sailing, landing on the deck.
The villagers complained and Nami lifted her shirt slightly, making Sanji red in the face, while wallets rained down from her shirt. She winked at the villagers and said "See you guys~!"
The villagers all clammored and yelled at her while she laughed and the ship sailed away.
Nami stared at the island as it got further and further away, getting smaller and smaller before eventually disappearing. She turned around and wiped her eyes, before freezing as Thirteen looked at her. He blinked and waved his tail before closing his eyes.
Nami looked at him and nibbled on her nail, she looked around at the rest of the crew fooling around. Luffy was singing on the Merry's head, Usopp was working on something and glancing at Thirteen occasionally, Zoro was snoring with his mouth wide open, and Sanji was going over a cookbook and scratching his head.
She slapped her cheeks and smiled before marching to Thirteen and kicking his foot, saying "You smell." Thirteen opened his eyes and looked at her, she gave him a stern look and pointed to the cabin without a word.
He looked at her and his tail flicked as he got up, leaving to the cabin to shower. Nami lost her stern look and smiled before humming, walking to the wheel, kicking Zoro on her way and saying "Shower." as she started steering.
Zoro groaned and Sanji passed by, adding "You smell like shit, but you look like shit too… So I guess it's fine." Zoro got up and said "You say something, Dartbrow?" Sanji stopped and said "Yeah, you got a problem with that!?"
Zoro said "Yeah! I got a problem with that! Who died and put you in charge, eh?!" Sanji blew his top and shouted "You want to see who's in charge, Moss head?!" Luffy's head interjected and grinned "I'm in charge!" prompting Zoro and Sanji to punch him in the face as the trio got into a dust brawl.
Nami looked at the deck and smiled, everything was back to normal.
A few days passed just like that as the ship closed in on it's next destination.
Loguetown.
However, before they got there…
Nami was sunbathing on the deck when a Newsgull landed on the table next to her. She paid for the Newsgull and commented "These are getting more pricey…" The Newsgull squawked and shrugged in a very human-like manner before picking out a newspaper and handing it to her with its beak.
She took the paper and the Newsgull flew off as she opened it to read. A few papers slipped out and fell onto her lap while she was reading. She took a glance at them before dropping her newspaper and picking them up, shouting in shock.
The rest looked at her and Sanji said "Nami-chan?!" Thirteen opened an eye, looking at her as she said "Bounties!" Zoro walked over and asked "Do they have mine?" while Luffy ran over saying "Did I get one?!" while Sanji looked interested, and Usopp shivered at the thought.
Thirteen just closed his eye and went back to resting.
Sanji clicked his tongue and said "None for the Mosshead either…" Zoro grunted and went back to sleep, Luffy shouted "Cool! 30 million!" Nami said "Idiot! That's not the issue! Look!" as he held up another one.
Luffy gawked and shouted "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!" Sanji opened his eyes wide and looked at Thirteen. Zoro grunted and rolled over, catching a glimpse of the paper and coughing. Usopp snuck over and looked before swaying and muttering "We're dead… We're all dead…"
Luffy grabbed the paper and ran over happily "Thirteen, look!" Thirteen opened his eyes and looked in front of him to the new bounty poster.

There was even a picture of him, looking blankly at the camera covered in blood.
He continued reading and noticed that there was something new in the description, it was his usual crimes along with boosted numbers and a new portion 'Slaughtered an entire Navy Base, use extreme caution when approaching. Likely to kill anyone it sees.'
He tilted his head at that last part. It wasn't entirely true…
He nodded at Luffy and went back to resting. Nami got up and shouted "YOU CAN STILL SLEEP AFTER THAT?!" Luffy just snickered while Sanji lit a cigarette and smirked.
Zoro rolled over and chuckled as Usopp ran around frantically "They forgot cannibal! WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!" Nami smacked him into the ground and said "Shut up!" before turning to Thirteen and saying seriously "We need to dress you up in a disguise at the next island. There will probably be a ton of Marines and bounty hunters there…"
She sighed and added "Considering it's the last stop before the Grandline…" Luffy pointed at the sea and said "There it is." Nami froze and looked before dragging Thirteen by his foot but failing as she said "We need to hurry!"
Sanji walked over and said "Nami-Swan, let me carry that for you." as he grabbed Thirteen's foot and pulled. He paused and grunted, using all his strength before slowly dragging him a bit.
Nami said "Sanji… Um… Do you need help?" Zoro chuckled and Sanji smiled at her, replying "Of course not, just a little heavier than I thought. It's easy!" Nami smiled and said "Perfect! Then bring him quick, we have to hurry."
Sanji smiled and nodded as beads of sweat started forming on his head. She walked away and Sanji grunted, dragging Thirteen along, who was just staring at Sanji, as Zoro laughed, quipping "Too heavy for a thin cook?"
Sanji snapped "Shut up, Moss head! This guy's fucking heavy!" Zoro just laughed and said "Can't be that bad." as he walked over and pulled on Thirteen's leg before grunting.
Usopp snuck over and stared at them, muttering "Is he really that heavy?" Thirteen turned his head to him and Usopp jumped while screeching. Zoro roared "Shut up, Longnose!"
Usopp shut up but fainted while standing up as Luffy waved his hand in front of his face.
Thirteen got up and looked at the two sweaty guys, who looked at him and said in unison "Why are you so heavy?!" Thirteen pointed at his chains before walking past them into the cabin without making a sound, leaving them with twitching eyes.
Luffy chuckled and sat back on Merry's head, humming to himself.
