Chapter 7: You Don't Even Know What We Do

Deacon stood in front of a large transparent wall, looking out at the world. Clouds passed by in slow motion, and as he watched them, he found himself calming down slowly.

"Deacon," a voice said.

Deacon turned to the side and saw the cane-carrying man there, "Principal Arie, you're finished with him?"

"Yes, I am." Principal Arie came to stand beside Deacon, and together they watched the clouds passing by, "You want to say something to me" he said.

Deacon sighed, "You just don't know how to read the atmosphere, do you?"

Principal Arie smiled, "I do when I need to. I don't think subtlety is needed right now"

Deacon straightened, "I only agreed to this because Ana asked me to. I still don't think it's the right thing to do"

"We don't have much of a choice in the matter, Deacon. The seat already called for his execution. What would you have me do?"

Deacon closed his eyes, "I don't know. But I also don't like this. It's confusing. Playing a game with you is always confusing"

Principal Arie hummed, "How long till the children arrive?"

"They'll be here by tomorrow"

"Oh. That's way too soon. He is going to have to learn as he goes forward then. For his sake, let's hope he's a fast learner"

Olympus academy. The most prestigious schools in the world, and also the most well hidden. Unlike other regular schools that aimed at bringing forth regular people who handle regular jobs, Olympus academy was aimed at producing Hunters.

Hunters were the best of the best at the art of war. The only ones standing between the real world and the darkness. They belonged to the invisible world.

The twilight walkers.

'And I'm going to be the best,' Adrian thought as he stared out the side of the helicopter he was currently in. He was a slim boy with black hair and eyes. He had a headset on his head and wore safety glasses.

The pilot in the copter with him swerved them to the right and spoke up, "We're almost there, sir. Strap in"

Adrian put on his seat belt and then the pilot pulled the steering backward. The helicopter tilted upwards and began to climb in altitude. It climbed for close to five hundred meters before the pilot tilted the copter downwards and put them into a dive. Adrian held onto the side of the helicopter and tried his best to hold in his lunch as he felt the winds smashing into the helicopter and rattling the helicopter window.

They fell for about eight hundred meters before the pilot finally levelled them out, "Alright sir," the pilot said as he broke through a cluster of clouds and came upon a floating citadel, "Welcome to Olympus"

Adrian leaned forward and looked in awe at the large floating city in front of him. The bottom part of it was a large rock almost as big as a mountain which had many waterfalls all around it. There were multiple buildings on the rock, but five large buildings on one side stood out more than all the others, and in the center of it all was the largest building of them all; It looked like it had been carved from a mountain. But at the top of it, rather than a point, was a large glass dome.

The building had a large golden symbol of a mountain on it, and Adrian knew that symbol would soon be on his chest as well.

The symbol of Olympus.

'The very best of them'

Inside the large dome, Principal Arie stood behind his desk, looking out the window at the entire school. He was a tall man with white hair and hetero-chromatic eyes, one black, and the other white. He wore a white suit and held his cane in front of him. The door to his office opened up and someone came in.

"You have something for me, Ophelia?" he said

Ophelia - the vice principal - was a tall woman with blonde hair and green eyes. She wore glasses with a transparent frame and had her hair tied in a tight bun. She rose the book in her hand up to her chest and cleared her throat.

"You have a visitor."

"Helios?"

"Yes"

"Please, let him in"

Ophelia nodded. The door opened and Helios walked in. He wore a tracksuit this time. A yellow top and white trousers.

He rose his hand in a wave, "Yo, Arie."

Ophelia used her forefinger to push her glasses up, "Please show the proper respect when you're in here, Helios. He is the principal"

"Oh, Ophelia. Still have that stick up your ass, eh?"

Ophelia blushed in anger, "Y-You brute!"

He waved her away, "Yeah, yeah. Can we get this thing started?" Helios said as he walked up to the table and sat down at one of the chairs. Principal Arie simply smiled through it all, he turned around and moved to his seat. Ophelia moved away from the door and stood behind Principal Arie's chair.

"You took longer than I thought you would, Helios," Principal Arie said, "Run into trouble?"

"Not really," Helios said while putting his hands behind his head and looking up, "But you really know how to make a strong impression, Arie. You didn't have to send the kid out there"

"I don't know what you're talking about, Helios. I only sent Adrian out to look into a complaint from a small family in Kyoto. I had no idea he would run into Daemons like that"

Helios looked Principal Arie in the eye, "Don't play your games with me, Arie. I always get a headache when I play with you." Principal Arie smiled. Helios leaned forward, "And the little devil?"

Principal Arie's smile turned mysterious, "He's safe. For now. At least he is no longer a prisoner"

Helios nodded before his face took on a more serious expression, "But there's something weird, Arie. Did you see any injuries on him?"

"None"

"Yeah, me neither. It's just a theory right now, but I think they might have gotten to him before we did. There's only one thing that can simply heal injuries like that, and only one group of people have any on them right now"

Ophelia gasped, "Ambrosia? Do you think he ingested ambrosia? That should've killed him!"

Helios nodded, "As I said, it's just a theory right now. But I'll tell you one thing for sure," he looked outside the window with a frown, "For a little devil, he's pretty damn strong"

Damian woke up with a gasp. He looked to the side and saw a blurry image of a cabinet beside his bed. He grabbed his glasses from it before getting off the bed. The tiles were cold against his feet. He stood up and looked around the small room with nothing more than a bed and wardrobe in it. There was a window to one side and a door to the opposite side.

Damian walked towards the window and looked outside. He blinked. And blinked again. He took off his glasses and cleaned them on his shirt before putting them back on and looking outside again. His eyebrow twitched.

"Where the fuck am I!!?"

All he could see on the horizon was miles and miles of white clouds. Below him, he could make out the shape of people walking about in some sort of white uniform. But the biggest shock to him was the building that broke through the sky and stood higher than all the other ones. It was a massive mountain with a glass dome on its top.

Damian stumbled backward in shock. He was dreaming. This had to be a dream.

He heard a crinkle under his feet and he rose a brow as he bent to pick the paper he stepped on. In a clean, neat font, four simple words were written.

…. it's not a dream ….

Damian's eye twitched again. He knew that cane carrying man was a part of this somehow. Damian stood up and sighed. This was going to be troublesome. He needed a way to get back home now that he remembered what had happened. He couldn't just let Jang get away with what he had done to Hugo.

"But first…" Damian said as he walked up to his door and grabbed the handle. He slowly opened it and took a peek through the small gap.

"Good morning"

"AH!" Damian screamed and fell backward. The door widened and Damian saw a girl standing there. She wore the white uniform he had seen the people on the ground wearing. But now that he was closer he could see that it was actually a white shirt with a white jacket on top of it. The jacket had a gold trim along the collar and wrist. The lower part of the uniform was a white skirt.

The shirt had a symbol on its breast pocket. Damian noticed that it was the same as the one on the large mountain outside. A golden mountain.

"Are you okay?" the girl asked Damian. She was a slim girl with green eyes and black hair. She looked down on Damian with a completely stoic expression on her face.

"Uhm.. Y-Yeah, I'm okay. I don't think I hit my head," Damian said and laughed a little. The girl's expression didn't change one bit and Damian suddenly became nervous.

"That's good," she said, "I'm Helena. I'm going to be your guide this morning," Helena blinked and looked Damian over, "You aren't dressed yet?"

Damian got to his feet, "What?"

The girl walked into the room and Damian watched as she simply passed him by. She moved towards his wardrobe and opened it to reveal a male version of the clothes she currently had on. White trousers and a jacket with gold trims along its wrists and collar. Damian stood from the ground and moved to take it from the wardrobe. There was a note attached to it and he took it off and read it.

…. Don't be late for class …

His eye twitched again. This man was really getting on his nerves.

"You can change now. I'll wait for you" Helena said.

Damian nodded and then waited. He looked at her. She looked back at him. He cleared his throat, "Aren't you going to leave?"

"Why?" Helena said, "There's nothing remotely appealing about you to look at. There is no need to be shy"

"That's not the point!" Damian said.

"Hmm. Okay then. I suppose you are embarrassed about something. Don't worry, I won't judge any deformities you may possess"

"Get out!"

Damian pushed her out of the room and slammed the door in her face. Helena blinked in surprise, "Did I say something wrong?"

Damian sighed as he took his uniform and laid it out on the bed. He looked at it for a while, still trying to come to terms with all this.

'And I was just on a field trip yesterday. Grandpa's going to kill me,'

Helena pushed off the wall as the door to the room opened and Damian came out wearing the uniform. He pulled at the sleeves and wondered how they had been able to get his sizes down perfectly.

"Much better," Helena said, "Let's go"

Damian followed behind her as they made their way through a long hallway and into an elevator. The elevator went down and opened up to a large receiving hall. A few students were moving about the area, some stopped for a second to stare at them while others simply ignored them completely.

A boy with black eyes and blue hair watched Damian from a distance till he and Helena disappeared out the main doors. Once they were gone, he looked back down at the card in his hand, "Room B3. Where the hell is that?"

Outside, Damian and Helena passed the main doors and Damian felt his mouth fall open. The place was even bigger from the ground. There was a long bridge connecting the building they were to another building. A tall white, cylindrical one. The building had a large sign that said C1 at the very top of it, engraved in gold. Helena began walking along the bridge and Damian followed after her.

He looked over the side of the bridge and saw a large river flowing under it. He didn't even want o know what would happen if he fell in there.

"There are three dorms in the school and three main class buildings. The one we just left now is dorm one. The dorms for the first years," Helena began, "The building in front of you is class building one. And just like the name suggests, you'll be having all your classes in there."

Damian nodded dumbly. He was still in awe of it all.

"I was told by the principal to show you around your classes, so we better hurry. My class building is on the other side of the school and I don't want to be late either."

She led Damian through the door of the tall cylindrical building. The inside was a large room with an elevator at the end of it, just like the ground floor of the dorms. Helena entered the elevator, and Damian followed.

Inside the elevator, Damian finally found his voice and asked a question, "What is this place?"

Helena turned to him, "What?"

"All this," he waved his hand around, motioning to everything, "What is it for. What do they do here?"

Helena's brows knitted together and she pinned Damian with the most intense stare he had ever seen, "You," she began in disbelief, "You don't even know what we do, do you?"

Damian didn't answer, but his silence was more than enough.
