Chapter 4: Did she say motive?

Aurora could not accept the fact that she went out with a guy even though she had her motives. She liked what she did. She wondered if this is what it feels like to be cared for and liked.

For the first time she bought something somebody suggested for her, that was the first time she went shopping with someone in her lonely life. Nobody had ever accompanied her before. She felt happy that night as she drifted off to sleep. She had a good dream after a long time, a break from her series of nightmares. She had not visited her therapist for a while since joining college. She felt glass about it, to slowly heal.

Aurora woke up late the next morning. No roommates woke her up since none were close with her. Aurora brushed, took a shower and ran out of the hostel.

"Where are you?" Arora received a text from Chris first thing in the morning.

"Practice! You?" Aurora asked him back

"Dad's office. Drawing a model. Boring!" 😴😑

"Lol! 😄 Have fun!" she sent a lot of laughing emojis.

"Not funny at all. And I'm hungry😤😭" Chris whined.

"Your bad 😛😉 Carry on, I have class. Bye." 👋

She stopped texting him and continued her practice. She was composing a new piece this time. Aurora was preparing for a show. She wanted to make a good reputation and fame out of it to earn some money since she did not have much. She finished her work soon and dolled up to meet him. She packed her bag since it's weekend to go over to her Kate's. On her way, Arora bought some hamburgers for him and his favorite Starbucks coffee. She knew where he would be. He usually sits for drawing in his father's room. She got on the lift and went straight up to the 16th floor to the office. His father runs the biggest construction chain in the country. She got into the office unnoticed and got into the room he was working. The room looked luxurious with couch, and glass tables. She noticed a model of a building. 'must be his model' she thought. He seemed to not have noticed her in the room at all. The rays of light were clearly entering the room through the glass walls, a breathtaking view of the city to be seen. She placed the food from behind and scared him. "Oh god," Chris said.

"Still not over?" Aurora asked him.

"No," Chris seemed a bit mad.

"Okay, have the food. You said you were hungry."

"Not now," he said not looking at her. But she was in a playful mood. After a few minutes of silence collecting all the papers he has crumbled around she turned the whole dustbin on top of his head making him lose his patience.

"I said not now" he got irritated and got up. She ran. He began to chase her around the room.

"What are you doing. Gonna hit me" she kept running around the couches.

"And break your legs. Won't even let me work will you" he kept chasing. And he got the end of her dress.

"That is abuse, I will sue you," she said. "No, no, leave it, you will tear the dress, " she shouted. He left it and caught her arms. "Leave me." she howled. "No," he said and dragged her closer to him. He lifted her and made her sit on the top of the table. The room was a mess with papers around. He tied her hands behind and made her sit. His face was only an inch away from hers. She got tense. But she smartly kicked him and jumped off the table. Soon it turned out to be fun for them to play around with.

"Come here" Chris ordered. She was laughing aloud.

"Why would I be a snack for the stupid animal?" Aurora replied and stood away from his reach. He kept chasing until he got her near the couch. He pushed her and climbed on top of her locking her from getting up. She couldn't escape this time. They locked their eyes for the first time while they were out of breath from chasing. "Told you I would catch you," he said panting.

"Damn it!" She muttered. But it wasn't funny anymore. It turned serious. Something stirred up inside them. Both their hearts pounding louder. For the first time, he noticed how pretty she looked with her bangs and the peach dress she has worn. For a moment he forgot he was in his dad's office. He didn't take his eyes off her. And she forgot too. Aurora's heart danced inside her chest. Something she never felt before. She could feel her cheeks burning and turning red. She wanted to hide her face yet couldn't take her eyes off his. She wasn't even struggling to escape his grip. They just stayed staring at each other for a long moment. He moved closer, looking at her and then to her lip. He swallowed hard and moved closer and closer almost brushing her lips with his.

"What's going on?" a voice of a girl came up from the doors.
