Gil woke and reminisced about the night before knowing he would be getting even more stares due to the several hours of training.
"I need to stop storing my sword in my inventory" Gil thought pulling it out not being able to use it at all yesterday.
AS Gil fastened it to his back he opened his door and saw a small box on at the foot of it with a note attached. Picking both up and closing it again Gil went to his desk to read the note.
"Gil,
We are sorry for Sarah making you the challenge of the school and hope this wont impact the rest of time training. We have decided to reward you by allowing you to get an early gift from the school. Before the school breaks for 2 weeks each member of the winning team will be given a beast egg, to raise and keep if they would like.
We are offering you one in advance and will offer you one again if you win. Inside the box if an egg of unknow origin, of if 160 the school imported for this year. If you would like something else then please leave this at the door when you go and Leon will return it to the storage room.

Gil put the note to one side and opened the box, in the middle of a straw nest was a small egg. The egg was cobalt blue with swirls of white and purple in it. Lifting the egg up it wasn't warm or cold, to heave or to light, to Gil it looked like a normal chicken egg painted.

Gil looked at the message and thought to give the egg to Tash as she had the power of ice, but stopped as she probably wouldnt need it.
"Guess ill keep you in the inventory" Gil thought placing the egg in to open slot.
[Egg had been placed in inventory, this slot will follow the flow of time. When egg is nearly hatched a message will appear]
Gil closed all the messages and left the library to find some books about the egg and people having monster pets. The first one he found was the difference between tamed and pets.
"A tamed monster is on that has been influenced by a Hunter with the control power. These beasts can be new born to fully grown, the tamed beast will obey the Hunters will and always has the chance to break the power keeping it in bay. A monster Pet are either low grade monsters that pose no threat to humans and become pets, or they are raised from young. Some beasts have imprints, we are not sure how they work yet but, when they are born they become connected the being they first see, some hunters have stated they can feel the health of high grade pets." Gil looked at some other books adding points or saying how pets where very common.
Putting the books back Gil went to the second floor, surprisingly there where a lot of students here and they all stared at Gil, whispering to the people around them.
"Ice Birds....Ice Birds....Ice Birds" Gil said looking down the section if Ice Beasts, finding the only book about it Gil went back to the first floor to see of there was any about them there. After not finding any Gil went back to the desk to find out more about the creature.
"The Ice Birds is the overall species, but there are different breeds of the Ice Birds. The species range from simple Ice Robin to Ice Hawk, the most powerful is the Glacial Hawk. The Glacial Hawk is the counter of the phoenix even though both birds are not from the same world" Gil flicked through the book and saw small drawings of all the different types of birds, however there was nothing about the eggs they come from.
"Leon, would the book i need be on the 3rd floor" Gil asked
"Yes it would" Lon answered appearing in the chair opposite Gil.
"How would i get access to it" Gil asked again
"Well, you would have to perform exceptional to get permission, like reach grade 7" Leon said
"Do you know what species of egg it was" Gil now asked
"What makes you think its an Ice Bird" Loan proposed to Gil
Gil suddenly realised it was strange that he know the creature before looking in the books.
"Im hoping, Ice Birds look nice and i think having one will be useful" Gil added
"I'll check with Ava but im sure that if you win the game and perform well in front of the parents then we can get you a special privilege for one book a month" Leon said
"What do you mean in front of the parents" Gil asked putting the book down he had been reading
"Well, as the game is going to be held in a large open field the parents of the students have been invited down to come watch. We are going to build a large stand and use Sarah's powers to open gates to view the battles" Leon said
"Whats the difference between yours and Sarahs power" Gil was now curious
"Sarah opens gates, door ways between places, this can be anywhere in this world or other worlds that shes visited. When its other worlds, its only places that shes been to. With my power i can go any place in the worlds and if i go through into another world then i can go anywhere in there. When i enter my void i can see anything and hear anything i wont, that may sound nice but it isnt. Ive built a sort of house in my void where i can only see and hear the things i want, another difference between our powers is that i can open a rift to huge sizes, enough to cover this school and village where Sarah can only open it enough for a small house and thats with optimal conditions" Leon explained "I think its time you get ready for your morning training"
With that Leon vanished leaving Gil sat there alone, putting his books away and checking the egg he left to find Tash and complete there training. Gil fell back into his normal routine of training and going to the library until the Friday before the games where the students where called for a meeting.
"Alright, today where are deciding the teams for the game of Royalties" Harry called out "Out if the 162 first years we are going to have 70 members on one team and 71 members on the other team, 21 students have opted out hence the uneven team balance. We will get a member of each team of 4 to come up and grab ticket the ticket will either be red or blue and that will dictate the colour your on" Harry paused as a box appeared before him.
"Alright please decide which member of your team would like to select the team your on, i will go first" Harry put his hand in the box and pulled out a blue ticket "Im on the blue team"
All the students started talking and claiming they should be the one to get a ticket causing the volume to increase.
"Who wasnts to get the ticket" Tim asked
"Si should" Tash said
"Yeah Gil, hes the strongerst" Jem added
"Fine, Gil you can" Tim said sounded a bit disappointed
"Okay" Gil stood up and made his way forward. As he past other students they started to stop talking until it was quite. All the students where watching Gil walk up the front to get his ticket, as he put his hand in and pulled one out keeping it in his hands.
"What colour" Harry said with a hint of anger in his voice only Gil could hear
"I would like to show my team first before the school" Gil said walking back to his team before Harry could say anything.
"Red" Jem called out after seeing the red in Gils hand, soon other students made there way to get a ticket. The people that got a red ticket moved closer to Gil and as a result the people with a blue one made there way to Harry.
"Thank god where on your team" Ruby said walking up to Gil and Tash
"Least we have Ari so we can ne healed" Gil said
"Whos Ari" Tim asked looking past Jade
"I am, just a nickname" Jade said turning a bit red.
After all the students had got there team Harry walked back up to the front.
"Alright we have been allowed to take today to decide what roles each member of the team will be" Harry started "When we have decided we need to list them down and hand them to a teacher so there is a record of it, when it comes to Monday we will come back here and we will go to an opened area to build a castle. We will have a small shell build already but it will be up to us to add to it" he finished
Sarah stepped forward and opened to gates to the left and right of her leading to different areas of the school.
"Red team to the right and blue team to the left" Sarah called
As Gil walked through he came to a small green opening in a field with some benches. Soon all the red teams students.
"Alright whats the plan" Ruby asked to everyone
"We need to select the roles for game" Tash said "There are several roles we need to pick. Who wants to ne the King or Queen"
Several people started to raise there hands and claim it should be them, like when they where picking to be the one to select the colour of the card the volume increased.
"We need to pick based of the power they will have" Gil spoke up and all the noise stopped "For me there is only one option"
"Let me guess you" Someone called out to Gil
"No, Hope" Gil corrected them "With her power it allows the knights to prevent sneak attacks and identify where the enemy are coming from"
Hope when very red when Gil mentioned her name.
"Can anyone suggest a different person" Gil said, to which no one could say otherwise. "Okay Hope please take the seat over there as out Queen"
"Now onto the knights" Tash said "For this we need people with multiple powers"
"No we dont" Gil added "Even though we have to have 2-8 knights there nothing preventing us from having more. If you want to be a soldier please stand over there" Gil said
Out of the 70 members of the team, 37 went to where Gil pointed.
"Alright Ari, i think you shouldnt be a knight nor a soldier, but stay somewhere in the middle and can heal people where needed. Anyone else with similar powers should also join her" Gil didn't know why but everyone was listening to his instructions and moving to where he pointed.
"Out of the 30 ish people left here, we can work out who wants to be a knight, i personal want to be a soldier but will go where people wish" Gil added before sitting down.
After some time there where 8 dedicated knights and 3 people who where going to perform the same role. Gil was allowed to be a soldier like he waned.
"What type of speed and travel are there" Gil asked once nearly all the roles where assigned
"Me with speed as you know" Ruby said
"I can open small gates" Someone stepped forward "Enough for one person to fit through"
"What your name" Gil asked
"Alex" Alex responded
"Anyone else" Gil asked
"No, i think blue team got 3 types of speed and transport" Jade said
"Alright Ruby, your in charge of making sure the healing group and the soldiers know what going on, you will then let Alex know where to open gates so people can get healed and brought back into battle" Gil called. "For the people that havent chosen a role, float in the middle"
"Whats the overall plan" Will asked.
"On Monday when we get transported to the area, anyone that can add anything to the castle will spend the whole day and night doing so. When the time comes, the long ranged soldiers will stay behind the close up fighters." Gil started before stopping "Other then that i dont know what the best option will be, for now im going to train building walls and other structures. If anyone would like to going me please feel free"
Gil walked away to to practice and Tash jogged up to join him, looking back there where 5 other people who where joining him. When he and Tash got to a suitable point Gil raised the larges wall he could. When he felt like his mana was nearly drained he stopped and looked, it was around 25 meters long, 7 meters tall and 2 meters thick, in front of the wall there was a large part of the earth hallowed out.
"Nice" Tash said walking down to one end to observe the whole thing.
"Are you able to build anything with ice" Gil asked absorbing the mana in the air
"Ive never tried, i can do simple objects like a wall but nothing like this" Tash said.
"We could make several of them and leave them at the front of the entrance making the ground uneven" Gil proposed. Tash done just that and dozens of ice blocks littering the front of the wall.

Gil built some mare walls and found that it was easier and quicker to build, spending the next hour making and destroying walls Gil went to train with a sword for the rest of the day.

Artaxs Ive wanted a story where the MC has a pet and its just that, not some overpowered so that is all the ice bird will be.
Also with the earth power it is stone not mud/dirt, just wanted to put that down as i dont think i have before
