Chapter 4: Chapter 4 Training

Hidden Mist Village.

The whole village was quiet as the dense Mist covered every part of the village.

The faint glimmer in the dark sky foreshadowed the approaching rising sun.

----------------------

The Aokiji House.

A child could be seen in the courtyard, and his silver hair appeared to be encased in a layer of cold white Ice.

The Kid suddenly moved, and a slew of short ice needles appeared in each of his hands, which he tossed upward.

Soon, the needles thrown in the sky began to descend as the chilling needles drowned the Kid.

Just as it appeared that the Kid would be buried beneath the ice needles, he began to move.

His motions were exquisite, and he appeared to be a fish in the water, dodging every needle with his eyes closed until the last needle dropped near him and he finally stopped.

"Phew..."

Aokiji sighed in satisfaction as he sat down, finally getting the hang of it.

Since he had gained Kuzan's memory, he naturally wished to learn the most powerful abilities of the Pirate world.

He couldn't learn Armament Haki because of his age and lack of physical strength.

Even though his physique had already been converted into that of the dwellers of the Pirate world as a result of the devil fruit, but even then learning Armament Haki was difficult.

So he spent the last year honing his Observation Haki, and just a few months ago, he was finally able to use it.

He was still a rookie and could only detect auras within 10 to 20 meters of him.

He was able to avoid all of those needles for the first time today; previously, he would have been irreparably harmed, which is why his both arms are bandaged.

He could have saved himself from the needles by turning his body into ice, but he didn't.

(It should be feasible; I know Logia users can't be physically damaged unless Haki is utilized, but if he wants to injure himself, he should be able to.)

He realized that the only way he could become a powerful person was to go through hard and difficult training.

Aokiji has also spent the last two years trying to learn Navy Six Styles, and he can already perform a handful of them.

Aokiji stood up and went to take a shower after finishing his early morning training routine.

Aokiji began preparing breakfast after having a shower and dressed in his favorite Green Kimono.

The sun was already out when he completed his meal, and it was time to leave for the academy.

Aokiji walked towards the Ninja Academy while wearing the grey bag around his waist.

"Creak...

Aokiji pushed open the door and walked to his seat with the fearful eyes of every Kid.

"Wow, Aokiji, you really did pass the exam."

Takuro was taken aback when he noticed the headband coiled on his right arm.

Takuro had heard from his uncle that the graduation exam was perilous, and he was concerned for Aokiji.

But now when he saw him with the headband, he was shocked and relieved that his best friend had graduated safely.

"It was a little risky, Takuro, so don't graduate unless you're totally certain."

Aokiji advised Takuro since he didn't want his only friend to get hurt.

"Don't worry; I'll only graduate when I'm completely confident."

Takuro patted his chest, assuring Aokiji; as they spoke, the room door was forced open again, and a man in his early forties entered.

He was tall and had long black hair that reached his back, with pearl-shaped things set in a circle on his long black hair.

He wore a scarf around his neck and a sleeveless Haori over his Mist Jonin Attire.

"What!!"

Aokiji was taken aback to see his Clan's leader.

"Follow me, Aokiji Yuki."

Daikichi Yuki is the current Chief of the Yuki Clan; he was one of Byakuren's trusted men, along with Hozuki Gengetsu. (I created this on my own.)

Daikichi became the Third Mizukage in Aokiji's recollection; he didn't know much about him because even his name wasn't mentioned in the original.

Aokiji lives in the Yuki Clan's territory, thus when he first saw him, he recognized him.

He had never imagined that the Third Mizukage would one day be the Yuki Clan's Chief.

"Chief"

Aokiji quickly stood up and approached him, bowing in respect.

"Um."

Aokiji followed Daikichi outside after the latter nodded.

Following Daikichi, Aokiji soon arrived at an unoccupied classroom and was shocked to see his other two teammates.

It was that girl and boy from the Kaguya and Hozuki Clans who took the graduation exam with him.

"My name is Daikichi Yuki, Chief of the Yuki Clan, and I'll be your Jonin Instructor."

"The thing I despise the most is weakness; because of your performance in the graduation exam, Lord 2nd personally assigned me to guide you."

"However, if I even suspect you of being the weak link, you will be instantly returned to the Academy."

Daikichi was a veteran of the Hidden Mist who had been inspired by long-running warfare; he didn't want to instruct slackers.

Talent is important, but if you slack off, it won't last long.

"Un."

Aokiji and his teammates nodded as they remembered his warning.

"All right, now introduce yourself."

When Daikichi saw that the three of them were not terrified by his threat, a glimmer of appreciation flashed in his eyes as he ordered them to introduce themselves.

"My name is Ichiro Hozuki, and I enjoy sparring with my father. My ambition is to make my Clan the strongest."

Clans had a lot of influence on the village during this era, especially in Mist, and rather than the Village, children were taught not to tarnish their Clan's reputation.

Though this concept was evolving slowly, it had just been 15 years after Mist's creation.

Many people from the Warring States period were still living, and they rallied the village around the Clan.

"My name is Aokiji Yuki, and there are many things that I like, and nothing much that I dislike, so looking forward to work together as a team"

Aokiji just gave a simple introduction, not talking much about his future plans, it wasn't necessary to do so.

Hearing his introduction, Daikichi was a little surprised, every kid at this age tries to reveal his dream for praise and recognition, first tims encountering this.

Though weird, Daikichi didn't give it much thought, as long as you are not weak and don't drag the squad down, it doesn't matter what your dream is.

"My name is Mei Kaguya, and my ambition is to fight and defeat every powerful person in the world."

Mei, like every other member of the Kaguya Clan, was a fighting maniac.
