Chapter 1: The opposite side to Everything.
One thing that all human beings craved is attention. I never knew anyone who doesn't, whether they realize it or not.
I, for once am being honest with myself. I like to have the attention. Don't get me wrong this isn't the attention with where everyone praises you and showers you with love. It's the attention in which you'll know, even just for a little, that you were heard, that you matter.
For the longest time, I have learned to adjust myself to the people I am around. There are times when I just feel stuck.
That I am in a void where I can't go anywhere.
"You always keep your thoughts to yourself."
"There's no point in saying" Cali just decided to ignore the thought that maybe she can cling to him, like a lifeline that she knows for herself, and seeks desperately.
"I know that you want to try" She just looked at him and said "I don't talk to strangers, I don't even know your name" then continued walking home, but she just look like wandering in the streets. Even her feet don't want to go home.
"That's easy to fix" Then he stood in front of her with the biggest smile that another entity have shown her, that was intended for her. "I have several names, but the like to be called as En" She just looked at him and continued walking.
"Hey, that's rude!"
"Nice to meet you En, you can take me anytime," Calypso said as they reached the bridge.
Silence covered the two as Calypso's daze was lost in the water, she doesn't mind ending her life. She knows a lot of people that will feel happy and relieved the moment that she's gone.
En just kept looking at her trying to understand as well Calypso's emotion as if he knows exactly where she is.
She's in the middle. Right in the exact middle where a few grains of sand could make her lean towards the other option.
"You're waiting for something" It caught Calypso's attention away from the water and looked at En and smiled.
"You're really here to take me" then Calypso let out a sigh of relief and just let out a soft chuckle then continued looking at the water, En also looked at the darkness of the river, where you can't see the bottom.
"I know I asked you the first time, but why are you here Calypso?" then Calypso just decided to entertain En, she won't lose anything anyway. She won't lose anything anymore.
"It started the same as everyone, I just want to be loved. I just want people to understand and won't judge me. But apparently, that simple thing that I wanted is the hardest thing to achieve." Then she decided to keep on walking in which En decided to follow her.
Calypso remembered the days in which she tries to do everything she can for all of the people around her, always available to help, always ready to listen.
She thought that maybe if she do it for others eventually she'll be able to feel and receive the same thing from the people she thought she matters and cared for her.
But human beings aren't built equally and human beings are born selfish. People will take what they can take and are very hesitant to give back. No one can't fight it. It's Human nature and instinct.
"Will I matter if I achieved this? It started with that thought that made me competitive and tried to be an achiever, then I started to be in the mouse race in which you are validated by your achievements and scrutinized by mistakes."
Then she just kept on walking and walking until she was in front of their family house. She just looked at the house and the lights indicating that there are people inside.
She still can't forgive the people who are currently inside. But she's trying to find hatred but can't find any emotions to feel.
'This woman is sick to the core' En have never encountered a person who has succeeded in killing their emotion, not completely, but she's almost there.
It is one of the things that made her curious about her and made him stay beside her, He offered something that most people will jump on but she didn't even take it, considered but she completely killed the idea as quickly as she thought of it.
En was completely enticed by the idea that Calypso is special, so special that no one in the living realm would understand her, which she's not even supposed to be here, but he knows that she's a human.
"I can help you"
"Your help won't do anything"
"I can give you what your heart truly desires" most of the time, this is more than enough for mortals to take his offer but En isn't even sure if Calypso would even consider this.
"You can take what you want, you can even kill me if you want"
Rage.
En felt a sudden surge of rage fill him that finally revealed his true form, his fallen wings are still divine despite their broken structure, Calypso felt the immense pressure but decided to ignore it and continued walking, if she was going to die tonight, it will be better to be outside, at the very least, people won't find her in the apartment and she won't be giving her landlady a hard time.
"I am not done talking to you Lady"
Then En enveloped her with his fallen wings, and hold her shoulders to lock eyes with her.
There was a lot of emotion showing in En's eyes that caught the attention of Calypso.
'Pain, Irritation, longing, sadness and frustration' she understood right there and then what she needed to do.
"Are you sure that you'll give me what I want?"
Calypso looked intently into En's eyes.
She'll sacrifice herself once more to him who felt something for her.
It might be a pity but it was more than enough to tilt the scale to the other side.
