Chapter 66: Chapter 66: Sudden Attack?

~Tatsumi POV~

After returning to Alchemist Quarry again and taking my time to get some much-needed rest as well as some food it was time I get ready to meet the Elite Seven as well as take Murasame. The only issue was I lacked information.

Sadly enough this village isn't a town so I can't perchance any data about it.

So I went with the next best thing buying info from the shop feature of the chat group about any information leading towards the Elite Seven locations or not.

With that, I already went ahead and paid for the damn thing as I began to read the contents of their latest goals and attacks so far…

Hmm…

According to the reports, it seems to me that they already took care of the Sabatini Show that means few of the chapters have already passed. Looks like they are now being active on the assassin mission taking care inside the Castle of Rakurou.

If I remember right they pretty much kill some kind of political official there.

Ragiri was the Viceroy of the Rakurou Castle. He was conspiring with the Northern Tribes and was targeted by the Elite Seven. He was assassinated by Tsukushi.

From what I remembered of the manga The Viceroy betrayed the Empire and conspired with the Northern Tribes. For this reason, he was selected as a target of the Elite Seven.

He was lured deep into the forest during a hunting expedition by Guy and shot through the forehead by Tsukushi. His bodyguards pursued the Elite Seven to avenge his death, but they were all killed with little difficulty.

That means the confrontation between the Elite Seven and the Oarburgh is at hand very soon if that is indeed the case… then the seven will be the six soon enough. But this does present a good opportunity as it presented itself.

That being the case of me learning how the Oarburgh managed to use their secret family technique of the [Limiter Removal].

Oarburgh is an assassination group for hire. According to Najasho, they are a group that is named after the mythological Shinigami Oarburgh. They have been involved in many assassinations throughout history and were hired by the Revolutionary Army to eliminate the Elite Seven.

Their services are noted to be extremely expensive, as Gozuki was surprised that the Revolutionary Army could afford to hire them. They are also tenacious, as Gozuki correctly assumed after the death of Babara and Taeko that the group will send more assassins to complete their mission and protect their reputation.

This was later proven true, as seen where their Leader herself and a majority of their members immediately made their way to the Empire to finish off the remaining Elite Seven. However, in the end, this only ended with their doom.

Due to the combined efforts of the Elite Seven and the Four Rakshasa Demons, the assassination war of the Oarburgh clan ended with the Clan's destruction and a majority of its members, including their Leader's, demise.

And despite having a few members successfully flee and survive the confrontation thanks to the sacrifice of Gilberda, the clan's name and reputation with society were as good as gone due to the colossal failure of the operation and the severe casualties to the clan.

The survivors of the group mainly join other groups after the clan falls, as seen where Chelsea joins the Revolutionary Army sometime before she was reassigned to Night Raid by Najenda, and Loris and Meela ended up joining the Retribution Group to avenge their fallen comrades and leader.

At least from what I last read about the manga, but this does present again a golden opportunity to learn their family clan technique of the [Limiter Removal] and add that with what I have in mind it might as well be my power up to bullshit levels.

Being one of the world's most infamous assassin groups in existence, The Oarburgh clan is known for training and developing some of the deadliest assassins alive and as such have developed several unique and deadly techniques passed down and taught from members to member.

[Limiter Removal] The Oarburgh clan seems to have developed a technique or training method that allows its members to remove the human brains natural limiters on their bodies, allowing them to drastically increase their assassin's overall strength, speed, reflexes, and endurance to immense superhuman levels, as seen with Taeko, Gilberta and Loris.

Hmm…

Now that I think about wasn't the Oarburgh clan also just as old as the Empire is actually? Maybe they can help me shed some light about the ones who created the Teigu [Shambhala] to learn and possibly use space magic or hell just space manipulation honestly. Because learning that would certainly help me get closer to becoming Gojo techniques.

During their first confrontation against the Elite Seven, Merraid Oarburgh stated that the [Wrigglers] possessed the same roots as the Teigu and was created by the same alchemists that traveled to the Empire to create the Imperial Weapons. This in turn hints that the Oarburgh clan itself is over a thousand years old or perhaps even older than The Empire.

Better to hope that they have some info regarding that subject.

But in any case, the fact of the matter remains is that I need to head towards North as my next stop to meet up with the Akame ga Kill Zero plotline. Also, the fact taking Murasame from Gozuki will be difficult or perhaps not if I assist the old lady.

Or I could just take her student hostage but then I have to deal with the bugs they keep as pets known as [Wrigglers] ugh…

[Wrigglers] are what the Leaders of the Oarburgh clan use for generations, have passed down the unique danger beast insects, Wrigglers from generation to generation, with the insects having the same roots and origins as the Teigu of the Empire as its creators were also the alchemists that assisted in the 48 weapons construction and creation.

At least I know it will be an actual challenge against these old folks.

Opening up my map of the Empire from the looks of things here according to the map to get to my next destination which is Toushi Town. The only safe way to the North from where I'm going, I still need to head to the west of here to Tensui Village the trading area of foreign regions.

At that point, I can either go by foot or by sea to the Northern Region of the Empire.

The way there is blocked off by the mountainside while I would like the idea that I would need to be there the report says there still spying on that Castle of Rakurou even by then they would still need to be ready to ambush their attackers as well.

Leaving me some time to get there ahead of plots timing if that were the case. Plus, people would start to ask questions about how I made it there from where I'm at best to not cause a scene if that were the case.

The less they know the better.

Putting away my belongings inside my [Pocket] using my [Shambhala] I began to go ahead to leave Alchemist Quarry. I already have more than enough food to last me a while and some money saved up I left the place as I went along my path to Tensui Village the sooner the better I get that sword.

Walking further down the path of the West there were a few Danger Beast that pop up from the snow in the shape of Horn Bun. One horn rabbits by themselves make for a quick meal but a whole army of them then run away.

Those little shits are annoying as hell but I managed to capture one and fuse it with a belt like I did to Apeman but I made sure to keep my identity safe. Fortunately, I had enough time to recreate a new mask with support gear that was 'generously' given to me by the uncle endeavor.

May God help his stupid hero career… piece of shit…

Anyway, this new mask was based on Hei from Darker Than Black's mask is pretty similar to Kagetane's. The small variation is what gives this anime mask the edge. One, its smile is much more subtle which ties into the emotionless contractor that and the lightning bolt helps to differentiate this mask from others.

The best part is with this mask has a voice changer making my voice unrecognizable to them thinking that I'm a different person.

That and I needed a new identity to act freely within the Empire and who else but Hei with his mask and my powers of [Overhaul] it was practically made for this. Maybe I should go with the title of The Black Reaper.

As I was walking towards the path, I was on I made sure to hurry my way as so far, no people have been bothering me as much when I finally went with this disguise. But as the more I go ahead to Tensui Village I couldn't help but frown at the scene from the far distance.

Black smoke and smell of something burning…?

What the literal hell is going on here?

*Rustle*

Hearing the rustling sounds from the bush I can see that multiple Imperial Soldiers were coming out from their place as they pointed their guns at me as they spoke coldly to me, "Sorry kid but by orders of Uncle Bill with his Group of Terror first mission and by orders of General Nouken are supposed to be no witnesses of the massacre of Tensui Village. Sorry kid but today ain't your lucky day."

*Bang**Bang*Bang*

*Swoosh*

Shame neither is yours.

With that, I used my [Observation Haki] to easily predict where the bullet will land as I easily dodge all of them as the soldiers kept on shooting at me but to me, the bullets seems slow in comparison.

But what he said did catch my full undivided attention now that Group of Terror's first mission was here…?

However, it looks like my knowledge of how events would go is off again but this time it looks like instead of meeting Elite Seven first won't be as I planned but instead with Group of Terror first.

Well, it certainly helps with things but that raises an important question actually what the hell is the Empire doing attacking this place?

I can only guess for rare goods but even then isn't this a bit too soon for an attack to be launched at this place? I need answers and those goons certainly know a lot of what's going on around here than I do.

Why would they even risk destroying their relationships with other countries at this point in the game?

Hmm…

Something is off here, and I don't like it one bit not knowing what the hell is going here. Time to assist the situation from here and see what I can do from here.
