Chapter 2: Chapter 1 : The Emblem Of Vulcan
Ayden, a cheerful 10 years old kid just like an ordinary child who love to fool around and play with his friend. Ayden live in a small village in the Kingdom of Agnishika.
Ayden usually play with his friends in the forest and near a cave. There's an abandoned mine in the cave. Usually whenever they play over there they will get chased away by an old man who live in a hut nearby the cave. He lost one of his arm. I'm curious how did he lost his arm. He used to be one of the miner before it got shut down because of the "Big Burning Arm" incident. The old man also told them
"Don't play near the cave. And don't even think that you can ever enter the cave and into the mine. "
Well, who's gonna do it anyway since there's a lot big lizard that have fire in their nostrils called Pern.
A week ago, the old man passed away. Because of that kids started playing inside the forest and near the cave because who's gonna stop them now. The old man also already gone and remain mystery. Some people say it was a curse some people he got eaten by Pern maybe because he lived near the cave. People also mention that he had trauma because he was the one of victim of the incident. I guess he is the victim of the incident. They said his arm suddenly burn along with 2 other victim. But it was remained mystery how did he even burnt his arm and lost it. Well who cares now. Nothing in the past will remain forever.
Anyway, it was exciting that we can finally play at our usual spot again. We also used the old man hut as our base we also make a treehouse near our playing spot. We always meet up there every evening.
"CRAAASH—"
One day when we were hanging out in the treehouse. One of our window break. When we look outside villagers were raging.
"EVEN IF THE OWNER OF THIS LAND ARE GONE YOU BRATS ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO CLAIM IT AND BUILD WHATEVER YOU WANT. WE ALREADY TOLD YOUR PARENTS. NOW GO HOME BRATS!!!"
Ah~
I guess it's going to be ass beating session at home.
That night, my father slapped me and I got into fight with my parents. I was very angry, I ran off to the forest and went to the treehouse while crying.
Well well, I thought I was the only one who's going to be here. Turns out I'm not the only one who got into a fight with my parents. So did my friends but not all of them. Some of them were grounded. So they got no chance running away from home or their parent are the type of parent that gave their children a slow talk.
In the treehouse there are 3 people. Me, Ivo and Ember. 2 boys 1 girl. The treehouse are similar to a small hut where there are trapdoor and some box and barrels that were use by them as seat. We talked about ass beating session at home.
Suddenly, we heard growling noises down the treehouse. We decide to ignore it at the beginning we thought it was an animal that can't climb a tree. Even if they can they couldn't open the trapdoor. We also have wooden hammer in the treehouse for protection. But we suddenly heard the trapdoor were getting banged and scratch. Ivo, the strongest among us all who his father is a royal army at the Agnishika country picked up the wooden hammer and go near the trapdoor and preparing to knock down whatever creature that trying to get in our treehouse.
SLAM! SLAM! SLAM!
"THAT'S IT YOUR STUPID KNOCKING NOISE IS GETTING ON MY NERVE. WHATEVER YOU ARE IM GOING TO—"
BOOM!
A pern break the trapdoor of our treehouse and something we did not expected happens.
CHOMP!
The pern just bite off Ivo's left arm.
Ivo dropped on his back and groan loudly.
"UWAAAAARRGGHHH!!!!!"
I flinched.
I want to run away but I can't. Ember holding my hand and shout.
"AYDEN, WE CAN'T WAIT HERE AND WATCH IVO GETTING DEVOUR BY THAT SCALY MONSTER!! "
I couldn't move a limb. Ember try to approach the pern and beat it with the wooden hammer. But she failed. The pern ripped Ivo to half and gobbled him down.
Ember scream and smash the pern's head.
CRACK
The sound came from the pern's skull. The pern dropped then Ember started to beat it to pulp. While she was beating the pern started to make somehow a weird noises. Like it was crying and asking for help.
Suddenly we heard the same noise coming from below us. When we look down we saw something unwanted started to climb up.
"Oh my goodness.."
I sat down. Tears coming out.
"Ember... If I died and you survive tell that I love everyone. I want to meet my parent for the last time"
Ember punched me
"IDIOT, WE NEED TO GET AWAY FROM THIS! "
"I-I can't *sniff* I don't we will make it." I replied.
Ember lifting me up and carried me using her arm like a baby. It was embarrassing.
Ember look at the window.
"Ember don't tell me that you—"
I couldn't even finish my sentence and she jump out of the window.
"UUWWAAAAHHH!!" I screamed.
As she land down she dropped me down and start to hold her legs.
"Ember you.. "
Ember smiled at me
"Hey Ayden, I'm glad that I met yo— AARRGHH!! "
A pern bite her leg
"EMBER!!"
"RUN AWAY AYDEN PLEASE SURVIVE FOR MY SAKE."
I stood up and started to run into the cave. Stupid me. Why did I plan to run away from home in the first place. But it was late now. I decide to hide in the cave since perns leave their nest at night and went hunting. I can hide myself in there and wait until morning comes because perns sleep in the morning and I'm also good at sneaking I am the best hider and seek player among my friends.
As I start running deeper I straight went into the mine because I think it's pointless for me to hide because the perns going to found me anyway because of their bloodlust. I was hoping that the mine will lead me somewhere to the outside of the cave.
But it didn't I met the dead end. The pern's noises started to get closer and closer. I was praying to god to forgive my sins for sacrifice my friends in order to survive. I know I won't last long. But I must try my best to survive. So I decide to pick up stone and started to toss them at the perns as it's approaching me.
I saw a weird stone it has a fire symbol on it and it's lighting up. I pick up the stone because I want to tossed it
The stone was extremely fragile. It breaks as soon as I picked it up. Fire sparks out of it and it started to burn my right arm. I was groaning in pain. But the weird part is my arm sync with the fire and it didn't hurt anymore and what's weirder is my right arm automatically control itself facing those scaly monsters. Fire coming out from my arm and started to burn them.
Those perns were burnt to death.
Ayden fainted.
A mysterious figure approach Ayden pick him up and fade away.
