Unlike other arts, archery is one of the martial arts his eyes is less effective. Not only there is lack of fighting/sparring that would stimulate his eyes to turn scarlet but the minute change in distance, wind direction, bow in hand and weight of the arrow cause deviation on the outcome even if it does activate. So to learn archery he started from scratch.
He has gone far in his archery in 2 weeks from unable to hit the arrows at all to hitting a bulls eye every 4 arrows. His master Rei Hino has been impressed of him since she saw how dedicated Silver was from learning. She even offered to teach him nen but after knowing about the red band on Silver's finger, she stopped herself and admired the Kid's decision. She learned that his Shingen Ryu Master disallowed him to learn about nen until he himself learned how to control his scarlet eyes. Yes, in the two weeks he was under Rei Hino's care, Silver shared the secret behind his shari- scarlet eyes making her the 2nd person to learn about it.
Rei Hino is a slender woman in his early 30's with long black hair and blue eyes. She is 160 cm in height and wears white and red shrine maiden attire. Every now and then Silver would see her wear what seemed to be a grey and black school uniform.
"Take a rest for now, you've been pushing yourselves without progress for quite a while. You have taken advantage of your eyes that you've become dependent on it. Now that it doesn't work like you expect it to be you appeared to be lost. You have forgotten that you are not defined by your eyes alone, but your whole being. Go and meditate, and when you have found yourself then you may pickup the bow again." Rei left him after saying her piece.
Silver went to a room assigned to him in the shrine when he apprenticed under Maiden Rei. He sat in the mat and started meditating.
He never meditated before so he just sat there and thought of his experience so far. He was an ordinary 25 years old truck driver from earth but due to an accident in the truck soul delivery he died and got transmigrated here. Not that he is complaining. Although it has only been 2 years since he got here, he could easily say that he has enjoyed his life here over the 25 years he had from the previous world. He got reincarnated in a Clan who has potential to be a rare double type Nen user and on top of that, a sharingan of all else. A cheat in naruto dojutso. He has taken advantage of it consciously and unconsciously since he got it. Starting from the training he had with Killuah and Gotoh, to his training with Charanko where he accidentally learned nen, to his 1 week mastery of shingen-ryu, to his 6 months gym hoping and here in archery apprenticeship. Although not as effective, having to copy correct standing posture and drawing technique did help him understand archery better than most upcoming students.
He once thought during his 6 months gym hopping that with his eyes alone he will conquer this world. At the time he felt invincible, that one day he'll eventually be at the top of this world. Yet a simple archery lesson put a dent on that belief. Knowing that his eyes is not the answer to everything has shaken his confidence.
'Master Rei Hino is indeed right, I have been to dependent on the activation of my eyes and now that it can't help me it has casted a small shadow on me. But what if I can no longer use my eyes, I am still a human being and I can still improve on my own. I may not have a luxurious job and life in my old world, but I am proud to be able to graduate on my own. And I did that without powers at all but pure dedication and effort. What makes this time any different?' Silver had found a new way forward. If he can't use his ability to learn archery then he will do it the old fashion way. Through blood, sweat and tears. And no longer shall he doubt himself again. He is his own person and his scarlet eyes are just a tool for him to achieve his goal but it shall not define who he is. Then he opened his eyes confidently showing a bright scarlet eyes in contrast to the dark shadow of the night.
When he awakened from his meditation he saw that there is a food tray filled to the brim with food. Next to it is a calendar. Showing April 24, 1995. 'More than two weeks has passed? It felt like only 30 minutes since I started meditating!'

Rei Hino is a Manipulation and Emission Nen master, her ability is to use her bow or conjure a flaming bow that is then loaded with a Nen arrow called Mars Arrow which she can control to hit her enemies.
