Chapter 6: Unreasonable demand
I had to go back to my office to put on some decent cloths and ready to make negotiations with the assailants. I got into the elevator and soon I was face to face with the four people on the down floor.
" Don't shoot, am the president of this company. I am the one you want, and I also demand that you let my employees go," I had to say.
"Oh no young lady, you completely have no room for negotiation," the one with the most round eyes had to say.
"Come on, I have the money and let the people go. Look am not trying to deceive you, in five minutes, my man will walk in here with a duffel bag," I had to say.
"Plans have changed Boss lady, you are to comply to our demands, and not the other way round." had to say round eyes.
Right at the door stood Jimmy with the duffel bag in his hands. He was let in and one of the men snatched the bag. I was held with a gun pointing at my back and I hated the smell of the sweat coming from the guy. Unfortunately they all wore a Bomb and there was no easy way out of this.
The men had brought their own counting machine and soon it was over. Ofcourse half of the money was not in there.
"Lady, give us the money or I will start shooting the people. ,"
" Come on, we agreed half and all the people have to leave this building."
" Boss, what should we do?"
"Release the elderly and leave the rest. Let me talk to her..." had to say the voice on the other end of the phone.
I got the phone and the video came on.
" Rodriguez, we meet again," I had to say.
"Miss Lay, I apologize, Queens should not be treated like this. I want that money or else am going to kill everyone of these little puppies,"
He had in custody Grandma Penny and 3 more Little warewolves, Sara, Lilly and Jones.
No wonder I hadn't heard from Grandma Penny since the party.
" Don't you dare hurt them Rodriguez," I had to say.
" Or else what, you can't bite me you know. Here is the deal, You give me the rest of the money and all the people go and you Young lady, marry me. Let me be your King and we will run a great empire together," he had to say.
That was one unreasonable demand I was not ready to make.
"Oh young lady don't even think that you are so clever on this one, I have your Grandmother with me here. You call her Gran Gran right?"
My heart skipped at the mention of Granny being held hostage. The footage indeed showed Granny tied to a chair and Rodriguez hit her with the back of the gun. I knew I was really played this time around. I had to make one deal work.
"Gran Gran are you alright?" I had to ask well knowing everything was not alright. Right then the call was cut. My mind went into a hazy and I was just finished I guess.
" Ma'am am in position I can take out the two other men," had to say Leo.
" Oh, don't," I had to say. "Let me make a phone call," I had to tell the men.
I called Felicia even though I knew she was already listening. I told her to go ahead with the transaction and afterwards, all the people were released.
Rodriguez had to call again saying I had to hand him my shares and sent me a location where I was going to meet him in order to save Gran Gran.
Jimmy drove me to the site.
"Tiana, I think you don't have to go there in person, Gran Gran is safe," had to say Felicia.
"How did that come to be,?" I had to ask shocked at what I was hearing.
My, phone beeped and a video came through.
What I saw, left my mouth agape. I was surprised to see the most white fur I missed to touch and tease. The blue eyes shined even brighter from what I could remember. Then I saw Gran Gran and the others bowing to the white wolf as they left the scene.
"What would I have ever done without you White wolfie. Today you have served the day," I had to say.
Jimmy coughed bringing me back to the present reality.
"Ma'am, what are you waiting for? You know he is waiting for you. Dry up your tears and am not looking at your nakedness?" had to say Jimmy.
" Whose crying?" I had to say as I dried my tears.
"Well, go catch your Alpha," said Jimmy.
I didn't know about what Jimmy said, but I knew from the bottom of my heart that I needed to see him. To see the man who had disappeared on me for five good years without communication and a single trace. Sean was just unbelievable.
I turned to wolf and thanks to the years I spent in training, I easily turned without any pain now. I rushed through the woods and when I reached the cabin, there was no wolf. I got into the house and searched every other room but I couldn't find him. My eyes got teary blinding me from seeing anything else in the room.
"Why are you doing this to me Sean, why!" I had to scream.
I knew screaming wasn't going to help. I huddled myself on the sofa and tried to put away the tears which were so adamant from stopping. My heart was hurting and that moment I didn't want to reason nor try to understand why I had to feel such hurt when I spent Five years without seeing him.
There was an envelope on the table and I took it. The first thing I saw was a smiley emoji and the words "You have to smile often sweetheart, because you look dashing like the goddess you are when smiling." That was unlike Sean.
I checked the rest of the documents and I couldn't believe what I saw. I almost sold the company to unknown people. All the other members of the board had sold there shares and lucky enough, the man who happened to buy them was Sean under different alias names. There was a recording which I dismissed to look at later that evening. and the last thing I saw was a note with the words "See you soon Love. I will see you soon," that's what everything said. He called me love.
"What's so lovely that you were crying a minute ago and now your smiling," had to say Jimmy.
"Just shut up Jimmy. I don't need your nagging," I had to say.
"Oh come on, let me see that," said Jimmy and tried to take the note from me. I quickly darted his hand and moved away from the Sofa screaming for him to catch me and I run.
Something fell from the trees and when I looked back, I saw Rodriguez body.
"Seems like Sean really saved the day today," had to say Jimmy.
I sniffed trying to push back the tears which were about to fall.
"Hey, you know he is going to come back right, he is watching over you," had to say Jimmy and gave me a hug.
"Yeah I know. Even if I fail to find him, he will always find me," this much I knew he was not only doing his staff, but he was also looking out for me while in the shadows.
" Hey guys, we still have some work to do. I reversed that transmission and you still have your money," had to say Felicia.
" We blasted Rodriguez's Head Quarters and now the Vice president's family is safe and with him. Should we proceed to send the dead body to his house?" had to say Leo.
"Dispose of the body, my secretary just informed me that he has resigned. Thank you everyone for the good work today. Thank you for having my back always. See you soon," I had to say.
"You promised to go shopping with me Tiana. I will be waiting for your call and you promised to buy me a new set of equipments," had to say Felicia.
" Girl breath. I promise I will." I had to say.
"You also promised me to hang out with you and Lindiwe!," Felicia exclaimed.
"Soon girl. Soon."
I had to rush home and attend Luna business. Everyone was shaken and I had to ask Gran Gran how she managed to escape the security wall and go after Penny and the little ones.
" I know what you are thinking and I know how Gran Gran was able to escape the walls. She used the helicopter on the roof of your house and am sorry I didn't tell you sooner because by then you were in the building and there was no way of getting your ears to hear about it," explained Felicia.
" Don't worry girl. I kind of forgot that she knows how to fly a plane," I had to say.
