Chapter 44: Worthy!
In a great hall of a traditional Japanese house, seated 28 elderly-looking people on either side, in an organized manner. The atmosphere of the room was suffocating tense.
Every focus was directed up to two people in the hall.
One with a huge build wearing a traditional red yukata, sitting on the head position with two ladies beside him, visually shivering.
And the other was an adult boy with a lean figure, currently sitting on an ice throne, unlike the others who were on the ground. His head was resting on his fist further down on the armrest of the throne.
His gaze could be counted as deadening, and the similar was for the person who he was facing too.
"Since it was my mistake that I let Ririka get hurt, I sincerely apologize and I assure you, this was the last time I will let her be on the receiving end." Yama was grinding his teeth in frustration.
He was facing this kind of humiliation for the first time. A young boy was threatening him in the face and still, he couldn't do anything. Being hot-headed was one thing and being a complete maniac was another. He knew the demon in front of his eyes was capable of ending his life on a whim.
"I won't allow you as her partner". After cooling himself for quite a lot, the lord of the house spoke for the first time.
" Oh, I don't need your permission neither she does. ". As Subaru said, he nonchalantly swayed his index finger.
Everyone in the meeting room got tensed on his sudden action, but much to their surprise nothing happened, or so they thought.
Suddenly, a crashing sound came from a distance, and soon enough a huge crack formed on the left wall followed by a crashing blast at the same spot.
What flew toward the center of the two focal points was a busty red-haired woman. Her eyes were closed in fear with her body curled in a ball, which eventually showcased her attractive figure even more.
Subaru broke the line of sight and looked toward the image floating in mid-air. A thin blue hazy line of mana was visible to Subaru which showed that she was the one connected to Ririka. This was his primary reason to come all the way here. Subaru was still unsure about mind-mending formations and he knew, tampering with it without complete knowledge might lead to a bad result from Ririka's end.
The busty woman finally opened her eyes and glanced at her surrounding meekly.
When her golden eyes landed on the blue ones, her body froze down.
" H-how ca-can I help you, sir?" She said in a broken accent as it seemed she was a foreigner or sort.
"Break your spell and don't try reconnecting it". He used, a drop of his killing intent while speaking making her gulp in fear.
Without taking the consent of her contractor, she retreated her spell, and soon the blue line disappeared.
Neither Lord nor the elders raised their voice on this exchange, more like they couldn't.
Subaru closed his eyes for a long second and when he opened there was a droplet floating on his left palm. The shine of it was illuminating the dull lighted room to some extent, making everyone astonished and alerted at the same time.
Slowly the droplet flew toward the busty woman and before she could process much, the droplet got absorbed in her belly.
She gasped before stuttering.....
" A-am I pr-pregnant now?" She blushed slightly completely defeating the previous nervous look.
"..." Subaru sighed inwardly before he started speaking.
"If you try to contact Ririka again then that droplet will explode and I don't think I have to tell what will happen to you, do I?" She gulped heavily before shaking her head.
"Good...ok then see you guys around" Subaru snapped and disappeared.
*Thud*

The ice throne got melted in an instant after the mage fell on the ground, with a thud.
Lord Yama had a grim expression. The room went into chaos. Ririka's safety, the broken contact, and various things were the main topic as their concern.
"Lord Yama, what should we do? We can't contact the young lady, and leaving her alone on that island is far than dangerous. You already saw what happened to her. We should probably bring her back". Lord Yama looked toward the audience furiously, making the buzzing sound die in an instant.
" Kurosawa san, how was he?" On his question, every focus shifted toward the oldest person in the room seated on the left in the primary position after the lord.
Kurokawa Manzo was one of the oldest members of the clan, serving this clan before the gate eruption. He awakened his mana unlike the lord but never raised rebellion toward the clan.
His prominent skill was mana measurement and the source of it. His mystic eyes were one of a kind skill, a person could have.
Right now his countenance was dark and conflicted. Lord Yama never have seen his prime subordinate like this before. Even he faced various high ranks and once a World-Class Hero too, he never showed this kind of expression.
After a brief moment of silence, Manzo looked toward his lord.
"We shouldn't provoke him". The already quiet room went dead silent. After some moments Yama asked in a heavy tone.
" Can you elaborate on what you saw?" The tension of Yama's face was visible, but being the clan head he couldn't lose his composure especially, in times like these.
"Three peculiar points I noted about that boy which I have never seen in the same person before.." No one interrupted the old man before he continued.
"First, his mana is immeasurable. I couldn't identify whether it was limitless, but the far I dived the more it flowed so as far I have seen, only one conclusion could be extracted.." He inhaled heavily.
"His mana could rival all our clan assets single-handedly, in simple words, even we put all our hunters in front of him, there is a slim chance of taking him out". Lots of gasps resounded in the hall.
This information could have been shrugged out as rubbish if it wasn't from the person who was speaking them out.
" Second, he doesn't need to chant any spell. As you all saw and from what I observed, he merely thought about the spell and it was formulated. The spells he used were a destructive type, water type and from the footage of the hunters we saw, it's clear that he can use fire element too, and more to it, on the level which we have never seen". This was particularly targetted on the blue flames which they barely saw before the camera along with aircraft ceased from existence.

Using double elements was already terrifying and here someone has shown something which they always thought impossible to possess.
"Third is his mana source..." The look on Manzo's face took a darker shade. The mana source of a person shows from where they receive their mana reserve. Some receive it from the slow and steady mana that the earth has started to regulate and some use the spiked and inconsistent mana from other worlds, through dungeon gates.
"He doesn't receive mana from any source, more like he is a source in himself. Even the dungeons stop appearing all of a sudden or mana from earth disappears, it won't affect him". He ended his explanation, leaving everyone utter speechless. The way he described Subaru, could only mean that he wasn't someone to meddle with, either carefully or carelessly, as in both cases the result would be obvious.
There were varieties of ideas and questions, that started formulating among the people inside the hall, but before anyone could have voiced out, the Patriarch, opened his mouth and this time his voice was dominating like ever.
" Let Ririka handle this matter. We will follow whatever she decides".

[Half an hour ago]
Some minutes after Subaru left Sasha and Ririka in his cottage, Ririka started regaining her consciousness.
Due to continuous weeping and the aftermath of the battle, her current appearance and condition were far from proper.
She slowly opened her eyes while remembering what happened before she fainted. It didn't take her long to regain and process all the things before she tilted her head to the left only to get shocked.
"Hey". Ririka yelped before widening her eyes.
" You...you were Subaru's mom all along?". Ririka had a look of disbelief as she saw Natasha's true face and it didn't take her long to identify that the face belongs to Sasha.
"Yeah. I psyched you right?" Sasha asked in a triumph look as she felt her art of deception worked majestically.
"Wait..then why..you were trying..wait...are you in relationship with h- oh my God...are you seriously in a romantic relationship with him?". Ririka's mind was a mess as she sat on the bed while looking at the grinning Sasha.
" Forbidden fruits are the tastiest sweety~". Sasha said while hugging her own body with a happy smile on her face.
"So you are one of the women he told me about".
" Yeah, and another one is my friend. My God how many plans we have made after I and baby do it for the first time...I am getting hot already.." Sasha was fidgeting in her own world while giggling and muttering words which the author probably censored here.

Ririka assumed who could be her friend and Subaru's another woman as per the reports she got from Rinka.
"Does he have something for older woman?" Ririka cupped her modest breasts which were yet to bloom completely.
"Fufu...shouldn't you feel inferior for something else, sweety~?" Sasha abruptly sat on the chair beside the bed while facing Ririka.
Ririka's eyes got shot open on her remark as she turned her face toward Sasha with a frown.
"You certainly are weakest among all three of us. You think you are worthy to stand beside him?" Sasha was questioning her but her voice was more of a cheery type.
After not getting an answer Sasha rose from her seat with a sigh.
"You should give up sweety~ Being in a relationship doesn't bring only sweet moments. So forget about him, from what I have seen you are not prepared-"
"SHUT UP". A heavy voice reverberated with the temperature of the room decreasing slowly.
With a smirk, Sasha turned toward the bed and saw the grim expression of Ririka.
Her face was dark with visible anger covering her whole demeanor.
'Interesting ~'.
