"H-how… is this training going to help us…?" One of the students managed to squeeze out his question as his knees buckled under the extreme pressure.
Caedis was visibly satisfied, seeing a lot of students still holding their ground. One of them even managed to speak without his teeth breaking, when his mouth was forced shut under the pressure.
"Hmm, a reasonable question," He started speaking. "What you are facing right now is just a pure manifestation of nature energy particles, but shaped so that it applies pressure to everything around me. In other words, you could also call it my magic pressure, since I'm way stronger than you. Now, to your question, what I'm doing right now is applying pressure on your bodies, making them feel the nature magic particles. As the time goes and we repeat this training every day, your body would eventually get used to the nature magic particles, enabling you to strengthen it with those same particles, as you saw just in my demonstration earlier."
"Also," Caedis continued. "This training will help you in feeling the nature magic particles. It can boost your control of those same particles as well. You could say that we are killing three flies with one blow. This is why this training is so effective. Just imagine your grandparents, even going further down your family line, all the way down to the first people on this planet; they didn't have these kinds of opportunities to train as easily as this."
As he finished saying that, the pressure eased a little bit before powering up and throwing all of the students to the ground, making them fall face down.
"You don't have to stand up during this training, it will only hurt you and we don't really want to do that right? Just sit, lie down on the ground, do whatever you want to. All I ask is that you try to concentrate on this feeling to help you control these particles in the future, a lot of other beneficial effects will come along with it as well."
Everyone listened as their faces were stuck to the ground. Our group of boys was no exception to this; only, they were doing slightly better thanks to their prior training.
"Don't worry about being like this next time, it will get better as time goes, by the time you graduate, you should be able to withstand this kind of pressure without your knees buckling. Obviously, all of that depends on your talent. You may even do better, or even worse, though, that doesn't matter, as you don't need to worry about anything dangerous happening here."
No sighs of relief were heard though, only the rough breathing of the students.
Caedis didn't continue to talk anymore and just let the students focus. So, he closed his eyes and waited until the class ended…
"Haah…"
One of the boys released a loud sigh. Right now, they were on their way back to the academy.
"That was way too exhausting for my untrained body…" Timothy complained.
"You can't really as that, as Albert already said that our bodies have somehow been strengthened with the magic fruit we ate." Patrick reminded Tim.
Magic fruit are, as it is quite obvious, a kind of fruit that was affected by magic particles. They usually appear only in areas with a high concentration magic particles. Some may appear in an area with weaker magic particles concentration, though, their effects would be considerably weaker.
The fruits are divided into categories by the elemental particles they were affected by. There is also a rarer kind of magic fruit that grows in an area where there are magic particles with an attribute.
The effects of eating them can either be positive, or negative. For example, if a person with a fire element eats a water element fruit, it would cause a repulsion of elements inside of the person's body, making it explode.
The positive effects are something to kill for, however. It usually depends on the type of the fruit, but it can have different effects, which are affected by the eater's need most of the time. The fruit could increase their control of the element all the way to increasing their magic articles capacity inside their body.
When Albert told them about this, they asked him as to what kind of fruits they had eaten when they were still in the forest. He answered that it was only a nature magic fruit. They were really interested when Albert said 'only'.
Apparently, magic fruits are a very rare find, not to mention element magic fruit. The percentage of finding them in the wilderness would be 3%, 1% and 0, 1% for nature, elemental and elemental magic fruits with attributes respectively.
It was at that moment that they realized that they really were lucky. They couldn't help but imagine different scenarios of them eating an elemental fruit and then just exploding. But when they thought about this, another doubt was created.
They then asked, what would happen if a person without a magic element ate an element magic fruit.
The answer was not what they had expected at all. Apparently, a person has an inborn affinity with only one element. The elements can be considered as brothers. And what would one of the brothers do if one of his brothers suddenly took his lover? He would probably hate him and try to destroy their relationship, to get revenge. That's where the explosion comes in. Since the element particles cannot destroy each other, they destroy the thing closest to one of their brother, and also to them.
Nobody really understood this theory as of now, nor do people know why the elements seem to despise each other.
But that's beside the point.
This basically means that people can't control more than one type of magic elemental particles, being stuck with them for life. That's why some people consider magic as their lifelong partner.
"…My body isn't used to this kind of strain, this is like the first ever workout I've ever done." Tim was quiet for a while before he retorted.
"Understandable, have a good day." Phillip replied.
They continued to joke all the way back to the academy…
