Chapter 11: Siege of hell school (part 9)

"Riley!" Tank screams as he sees his younger brother amid the dead. "Did he do all of this?" Jessica asks. Rat just scans the bodies. "There are so many." Alex breathes. "The fuck do you want?" Riley groans, tossing his corpse blanket aside. With curses and groans he rises. "Why did you go without us why didn't you fucking wait!?" Tank roars. "Because clearly I can do it myself besides I didn't want to share the zombies." Riley says. Tank raises his fist. "Do you want to try Tank?" Riley asks, tapping his thigh with his knife. "I could invoke rule 7." Tank says defiantly. "And I will do what I will." Riley says sheathing the blade. "Your leg." Rat says pointing at Riley's bloody pant leg. "Bombs are utter shit." Riley says. The group stares at one another for a while. "For fucks sake lets just go save the dip shits already." Riley barks dropping down onto the pile of bodies below. The closer to the school they get the more the group glances at Riley. The odd zombie relieved of its legs but still moving pops up and each person takes turns dispatching them. Riley limps watching as each of the others dart forward as if trying to get to the zombies before him. When they finally reach the school Riley is brimming with rage. "I am really about to hurt someone." Riley grumbles under his breath. The school is easy for the crafty delinquents to breach. Inside the lobby to a place that held no love from the boys the 4 look around at the bloody halls. "I'll go this way the rest of you fuck off somewhere else." Riley says moving up the stairs with a heavy limp. Jessica quickly catches up to Riley who sighs heavily. "Sorry its just I know where they will be." She says.

Tank walks by a large trophy case. Bloody hand prints smeared across the front. "Will we find any zombies here?" Tank asks. "Not that I know of but I'd still be careful." Jessica responds over the radio. Tank finds himself wandering down the blood stained halls looking for anything zombie. In the gym Tank sees several empty cots lined up in 9 rows 3 feet apart. Next to each cot is a iv bag. "We didn't have anything like this when we woke up." Tank mumbles to himself as he looks around the area. Lifting a chart Tank groans. The pages are too blood soaked to be read. "Well I guess finding out what happened is not as important as what we are doing now, still would have been nice to know a little more." Tank says. Rubbing his chin the large boy wonders if he should grab some of these cots for crystal lake. "How would you carry them all there dumb ass?" Tank says imitating Riley. With a shrug, Tank continues looking around. In a closet Tank finds the sport supplies and helps himself to a baseball bat. "I know Riley prefers hacking and slashing but come on we gotta try the old baseball bat to the skull approach at least once right?" Tank asks himself, twirling the bat around. "I think the reason is how much energy it takes out of you to beat a zombie to death." Rat says from behind Tank making the oldest boy jump. "But i totally agree i wanna get my Negan on too." Rat says chuckling. "Bring a couple might as well." Rat says leaving the storage area. Tank drops the bat. "No way in hell am i going to do what Riley says is useless he would be pissed." Tank says shaking his head

"With how easy this place is to defend why did you assholes need saving?" Riley asks. "We only ate the food in the cafeteria and the teachers wanted us to stay put until help comes." Jessica looks down. Having lived with the thriving boys and learned the Book of Jason as they called it she knew that the teachers were wrong. To survive is to thrive and they were surviving well whereas the school was dying and cowering. Jessica had also come to learn through Riley that the military and police forces had been destroyed. Jessica knows the adults, if given the reins, will try to find out how and why this happened, which is fine and dandy but wont help right now. And Jessica knows damned well the boys are going to just continue scavenging building defenses and cutting down the infected numbers. In her opinion no zombies and strong walls beat understanding the zombie virus and still not being able to do anything. "What are you going to do when we see the others?" Jessica asks. "Depends on them but I have a suggestion." Riley says as they stand outside a classroom people cower in the corner. "What is that?" Jessica asks. "Make damn sure they don't insult or argue with me." Riley says. "What will you do if they don't?" Jessica asks. "I'll kill them." Riley says, opening the door.
