Chapter 5: Gotta Blast
In the middle of training, I suddenly get a call on my Kimoyo beads, and guessing it's Mom I stop and answer as a hologram of my Mom shows up.
"They found him."She said simply, and I could see a little bit of tears in her eyes.
"Ok, I'll head back home today."I say simply and hang up.
"They found Tony?"T'Challa asks from the side as I nod.
"I guess this is goodbye then."He says in Wakandan and I understood, I may not be too fluent in it but I can still hold a small conversation.
"No, I will return, this has become a home-away-from-home for me."I said as we then did a short hug.
"You'll always be welcome here."He says as we separate.
"I know."I said simply before leaving the training room. Going to my room and changing clothes after showering I head to Shuri's lab. Arriving I see her messing around with some schematics.
"Hey Shuri."I greeted her.
"Hey Alex."She greets back absentmindedly, too involved in her work.
"What you doing?"I ask.
"Nothing."She still responded absentmindedly.
"How are you?"
"Fine."
"How's work fine?"
"Fine."
"They found Tony."
"Cool."
"I'm leaving."
"Ok."
"Forever."
"Ok... wait what?!"She finally actually responds, stopping her work she immediately turns to me, and seeing her panicked look I laugh.
"So you finally paying attention to me?"I asked harmlessly.
"Yeah sorry, it's just, ever since you presented your ideas of suits and nanotechnology, it's been all I could focus on."She says with a sigh.
"Don't worry, I understand, but about the nanotechnology, I know a way to make it pretty easily."I say and then her eyes gleam.
"Really?! How?!"She asked excitedly.
"Well you'll have to find out when I come back to Wakanda with the necessary resource."I say, and yes I'm referring to the Pym Particles, with them nanotechnology can be easily done and I already devised a way to brake into Hank Pym's mansion and safe with the suits we've made so far.
"Tell me!"She whined while shaking me.
"No, and I need to head home anyway."I say firmly as she then pouts before sighing.
"You said they found Tony?"
"Yes, my Mom called me earlier to tell me."I explained.
"So then see ya around!"She says before turning back to her work.
"Just like that?"
"What? You wanted me to cry and say, 'Please don't go! Don't leave me' as I hold onto your arm, burying my face into your chest with tears?"She said exaggeratedly.
"It would be nice."I say though clearly joking.
"And it would be nice if you left already."She responds back as I sigh in defeat, though a smile on my face as this is how we normally talk to each other, fun talks really.
"Ok then, Friday! Make the suits go onto whatever ship T'Chaka should've prepared by now."I say while leaving.
"Certainly, sir."I hear a nice female Irish accent voice from an earpiece I have on. And yeah, Friday was in the data I downloaded, just changed some base codes and protocols and she was officially loyal to me.
Going outside to where a take off pad is, I see T'Chaka waiting beside a ship with Ramonda as various child sized Vibranium suits with Arc Reactors in the middle walk on it.
"Thank you for always being so hospitable, King T'Chaka."I say with gratitude.
"Please, you've helped us enough with those Arc reactors of yours, you've been able to supply a resource that can generate endless amounts of energy, improving everything around us."He said with gratitude.
"But if you never gave me a chance it wouldn't be possible."I said and it's true, without being allowed to use Vibranium everything would be so much more different, probably for the worse.
"Maybe that's true, but you'll always be welcome."
"And please come back regularly, if for nothing else then for Shuri."Ramonda suddenly says causing me to blush, cause even though I don't Shuri like that since I'm mentally 18, it's embarrassing.
"S-sure."I respond with an awkward smile. Seeing the last suit get on I do as well, and getting on I see on the walls lined up with my suit's where there wasn't anything important, some skin tight to others looking like a miniature hulk-buster suit. Getting in a seat, the ship closes it's ramp as it takes off, navigated by a Dora in the pilot seat.
After a few hours I feel the ship stop, and walking to a table in the middle of the ship, an almost sand like display shows the surroundings as we're landing right in front of my house, in the middle of the driveway. Getting a call on the beads I answer.
"Alex I hope that's you or-"
"Yes, it's me Mom."I say before hanging up as the ship touches down. The ramp comes down as I exit to see my Mom who hugs me.
"It's been so long."She said as if we haven't talked each day.
"Mom, please, we spoke everyday."I say and notice the suits start coming off the ship, and it seems so did Mom.
"What are those?"She asks in shock.
"The things that will help in the future."I said simply.
"Ok, but anyways your Father is supposed to be arriving now, so those will do, whatever but we gotta go, so get this out the drive way."She said while I nodded in response.
"Friday you heard her, doesn't need to be pretty but get them out the ship quickly."I say as then I suddenly hear jet-like engines as the suits fly out the ship as all of them then go in the house and then the Dora fly's away.
"Let's go."Pepper says as we then see Happy on the other side of where the ship was.
"We'll explain later, drive, now."Pepper ordered as we got in the back of the car, which he followed, smart man. Eventually we arrive at a military base and see a military plane in the distance, and after a few minutes it lands as we walk over. The ramp comes down as we see Rhodey standing beside Tony who's in a wheel chair with a hand in a cast who stands up and comes down the ramp, and he surprisingly comes over to me before crouching down and hugging me with his good hand.
"I'm sorry of how I've treated you. A long time ago, I promised myself I wouldn't be like my Father, but I even turned out worse, I know you probably hate me, and I would understand, but if you can please, give me a chance to make it all up."He says, and I could hear him slightly crying, showing how bad he really felt, cause I don't think ever once he was shown crying, scared yes, on death's door yes, but even then he would never cry.
"To-, Dad, god that feels weird to say, I can't forgive you now, after all those years you've been cold to me, I don't think anyone would be able to, but we can make up with time, maybe in the future calling you Dad won't be so weird."And at the end of my words I could see the happiness in his face despite the few tears on it.
"That's all I ask."He responded with a smile. Standing up he wipes his tears before turning to Mom.
"So I heard you took my job?"
"Yes, and now I'll gladly give it back."She responds with a smile.
"Why thank you, but Pepper organize a press conference please."Tony suddenly ordered.
"You mean like right now?!"She asked in surprise as he starts walking to the car.
"Yes."He responded simply getting in the front passenger seat as we then also get in the back.
"No you need to go to the hospital, the doctor has to take a look at you."She argues with Tony.
"I don't need to do anything. I've been in captivity for three months. There are three things I want to do. I want an American cheeseburger, I want this press conference, and I want to make up with my son I neglected for so long. Third is already underway, so Hogan drive, cheeseburger first."And Mom could no longer fight Tony so after getting some Burger King we drive to where the press conference Mom arranged is supposed to happen.
Getting there Obadiah opens the door for Tony as they start talking until we reach inside where all the reporters are. They then walk through the crowd of reporters up to the podium while I stay back as Coulson then approaches Mom, but it wasn't important so I ignored it except for any key words Coulson may say related to me, but hearing the infamous long S.H.I.E.L.D. name I speak up.
"How about S.H.I.E.L.D.?"I simply suggest.
"That's actually good, thanks kid."He thanked me as I nod before filtering them again. Then as Obadiah is gonna speak he notices Tony on the ground as everything proceeded as seen in the movie and I eat my own burger watching it all go down with a smile at Obadiah's face of despair as he tries to salvage and change the subject of the whole thing. Happy then drops all of us off at home, and I really wish I gave more specific orders to Friday, cause all the little suits were just in Tony's lab/basement.
"So, what's all this?"He asks looking between me and Mom.
"Don't look at me, look at him."Mom says pointing at me, traitor.
"Well, you remember when I asked you if I could go to Wakanda, right?"I asked while he nodded.
"Well, dear old Grandad didn't seem to use up all the Vibranium."I said telling the truth, cause after all at one point he would find out so it's better if I tell him now myself. Walking over to one of the suits that wasn't really necessary,I pull out the Arc Reactor in it before handing it to Tony.
"Use this instead of that Palladium one, that one will eventually start poisoning, also if you ever want to get rid of the shrapnel in your chest, tell me and I can know people who can safely get it out."I say causing his brain to clearly stop from the information.
"Wait, wait, wait, so you're telling me this is all Vibranium?"He asked and I nod in confirmation.
"But you can't tell anyone, Wakanda trusted me with this information and I'm trusting you, and who knows if they find out you didn't tell anyone, they may let you play around with Vibranium."And at the end of my sentence he immediately started nodding in agreement, the inner scientist wanting to be able to mess with the Vibranium.
"Good, I'm going to do something, don't stop me it's to achieve nanotech and you'll be first to experiment with it Dad I promise."I say walking over to one of the tighter suit's focused on stealth and infiltration as it opens up from the back before stepping in.
"Alex, wai-"Mom starts to say but I cut her off.
"Gotta blast!"I say flying out the garage exit.
'Now to commit some crimes.'I thought, plotting a course to Hank Pym's mansion.
