Isabel Smith hadn't reacted to what he was planning to do when a taxi slowly stopped beside them.

The next second, Isabel was hoisted in the air by Percy Stanton, who carried her to the car door in a few strides. He held her body with one hand and opened the taxi door with the other.

Fearing that Percy might not be able to hold her steady with one hand, Isabel instinctively spread her arms and tightly wrapped them around Percy's neck.

Percy's cold face softened due to this small gesture, and a faint smile appeared at the corner of his lips. He bent down and gently placed Isabel inside the car, then followed in after her.

Isabel reported the address to the taxi driver, and the car fell silent.
