Chapter 10: Show Stopper

After three excruciatingly painful months of dieting and exercising Katherine was finally able to lose all those extra pounds that she didn't need. She was the epitome of beauty and weight loss added to her beauty, where ever she goes heads will turn to look at her beautiful face and body.

In Mr Smith's modeling company Katherine has already made a name as the best new comer model even though Kiara has been competing with her behind her back she was still able to shine through, yes she was that good.

Katherine was sitting on the edge of her bed watching fashion shows attentively and taking notes, she was preparing herself because two weeks from now she would fly to Hong Kong for her very first fashion show as a model and she absolutely did not want to ruin it in any way. She was busy when she heard a knock on her door so she paused the video she was watching and stood up to open the door.

As soon as she opened the door, the smiling faces of her three best friends greeted her, they sauntered towards her bed and the curious Kiara asked "what are watching Kath? The door was locked from the inside and we have been knocking for a while before you finally opened it."

Hannah jumped in and said "don't tell me you were doing something naughty all alone locked in a room Kath."

Stephanie who's dirty thoughts were quickly spiraling out of control gasped and said "OMG! Were you watching porn and masturbating before we came? This is why i told you to get a boyfriend, girl you need to get laid, it's not a good thing to always be rejecting your suitors. Oh I know, my boyfriend has some really hot friends, why don't i hook you up with one of them."

"Okay Okay girls enough with all the teasing! You know me better than anyone else, I wasn't watching porn or doing something naughty I was simply studying" said Katherine.

"Studying huh? Then why did you lock the door?? And what were you studying???" the curious Kiara probed further.

"I locked the door because I didn't want any disturbance or distraction from my family, I was watching these fashion shows and taking notes. Here, take a look at this" Katherine innocently handed her laptop and the notes to Kiara thinking since they were friends there was nothing to hide from each other.

Kiara on the other hand was cursing Katherine inwardly accusing her of trying to get ahead of others because she wanted to be the show stopper. She clenched her jaw and forced a smile and said "oh you are already perfect at this you don't need any more lessons Kath, we have been training for the past three months remember?"

"Mm I know we have been rehearsing and learning but I can't help but feel anxious, what if I mess it up?" Katherine worriedly asked her friend.

"No Kath you will do just fine, have some faith in yourself" Kiara said with an encouraging fake smile but the others did not notice it.

As the girls were busy chatting about different things and about the fashion show that will be held next week, Katherine's phone suddenly started ringing and when she saw who was on the phone she quickly signaled her friends to keep quiet and then she cleared her throat and answered the call.

"Hello Mr Smith how are you today?"

Hearing it was Jacob Smith Kiara's ears instantly perked up, she turned her attention to Katherine and tried to listen to what he was going to say to her.

"Hello my beautiful muse, do I have to remind you everytime to call me Jake?" Mr Smith said with disappointment in his voice.

"I'm sorry Jake it won't happen again I promise, so what's up?" Katherine apologized and quickly changed the topic, she was still hesitant to address Jacob Smith informally as he was her employer so she didn't want the other models to think that she seduced him in to hiring her or something, even though everyone knows that he was gay people are good at creating baseless rumors and she didn't want that, and that is why she wanted to keep their relationship as professional as possible."

Jacob Smith seemed to understand her concerns so he didn't push her any further, he cleared his throat and said "anyway the reason why I called you is to inform you that you my beautiful muse will be the Show Stopper of our fashion show, I designed and made a special dress just for you because you truly are my inspiration for this entire collection and you are the best new model we got so it's only right for you to be the show stopper."

Katherine was beyond happy to hear what Jacob said, she was so happy and grateful that tears of joy began to roll down her cheeks. She sniffed and said" Jake I don't know how to thank you for all the things you have done for me."

Jacob just chuckled and said "Don't be such a cry baby Kath, this is just the beginning. I told you before that you remind me of my beloved younger sister who passed away too early and I really love you as a person so i will take care of you, since I have decided to take you under my wing I will not stop working hard until you become one of best models to ever exist in history.

So get ready because I will make you work even harder until we achieve that. I will see you soon dear" Jacob said and hung up the phone.

After she dropped the phone she informed her friends that she was chosen to be the show stopper and all the girls including Kiara screamed in joy and jumped and hugged her while congratulating her, after shedding a few more tears of joy Katherine decided to treat her friends for always being there to support her so she decided take them out for shopping, unbeknownst to her, one of her "friends" has made a perfect plan to ruin and destroy her life and career.
