Chapter 2: CHAPTER 2: Strength of a vampire
Doctor Lee won found his way into the room where the girl was kept and checked her. His eyes became a radiation, his sight passes through her body and x rayed her organs.
He wore the girl an oxygen and prepared both the girl and himself for the surgery.
" Entrance hole in the abdomen and it's highly likely that it pierced the liver. The bullet is lodged under the diaphragm, probably where the inferior vena cava meets the right hepatic vein. Excessive bleeding is likely to occur due to possible damage to the IVC and the hepatic veins. First, I will have to detach the liver from the peritoneum to mobilize the right lobe of the liver" He thought and stretched his hand "scapel" he demanded for scapel as he already forgot the fact that he was there alone.
" Ha! It's just me" he sighed
He picked the scapel, traced the appropriate part and cut in open and started cleaning it. As he was doing this, a car drove into the hospital compound. Armed men alighted from the car and raced in with guns in hand while Dr Lee won was still operating.
" Traces of the bullet found in the IVC and the hepatic vein. That means..." he was talking while working when blood gushed out. Thank goodness his mouth was covered with nose mask his mouth would have been stained by blood. Maybe he would be glad then ( Vampire). Hehehe
" Excessive bleeding as predicted. Infusion can't be done without anesthesia... This means, I have to perform the Pringle maneuver. I will try to control the bleeding with a clamp" He continued talking while working again
"Bleeding is now under control. Back to removing the bullet" he continued the surgery and after a while, he picked out the bullet and dropped it inside the surgery tray. " Now, the bullet is out. I need to suture the wound now"
The armed men were almost in the surgery room and they would be there in few minutes. Meanwhile, Dr Lee won was still talking and working leisurely inside.
" We will get out of here soon. Just hang in there a little longer, ok?. Your name is... I will just call you Noona. Hang in there Noona. You will be fine soon"
" It's empty boss. Seems like they all left before we get here..." one of the armed men informed his boss over the phone. He was about to hang the call when Dr Lee won pushed a hospital bed out of the room and walked in calmly right in front of the armed men and continued pushing the bed without paying any attention to the armed men. This made the armed men furious " Stop there!" he shouted.
Dr Lee won heard him and stopped without turning back. He talked indifferently " I'm a volunteer doctor from Muna hospital. As a humanitarian gesture, let the child and me go"
" Shut up! On your knees!"
" You should let me go"
" Knee down now or you die!"
" If you let us go. I will let you guys walk out in one piece" He warned the armed men with a cool voice.
" and if we don't?'
" Be ready to die then" He warned again
The armed men was so furious. Sounds of guns resonated in the tiny hall as the armed them fired repeatedly at Dr Lee won and the sick kid. Dr Lee won pushed the kid inside the surgery room for safety and used his body as shield to receive a the bullets.
The armed men didn't stop firing even when Dr park screamed and winced in pain. They fired crazily creating bullet holes on the old walls and Dr Lee won tiny back.
After receiving numerous bullets, Dr Lee won fell down weakly and groaned in pain.
