Chapter 12: Chapter 12

The wave hit me hard. I felt myself drifting away in my head. I didn't even know where I was I. Then I opened my eyes to the light that came in front of me. Blinding light.

Two-person were running in the street. This particular place in the street seemed to be a few kilometers in front of where I last remember me and the girls were. I wonder what happened to the girls and me.

The person came nearer. There was a girl at the front, dressed like a warrior. She had a large sword at her back. That sword must weigh more than her. I have no idea how she has the sword and ran simultaneously. She was beautiful beyond measure; the coolness in her eyes and face spread into my heart as soon as I had a clear vision of her. Her body was elegant to the point of perfect balance. I wonder where she got to find clothes such as those. They looked like they were from another world. Behind her ran a slightly younger-looking boy. He was also dressed weirdly. Both looked a bit similar with their weapons. But the look was all that match. The boy had a large rifle behind him. The barrel came a long way out and then a massive muzzle brake. That thing must be strong as hell. One bullet from that must be enough to kill a purple demon. Even half should suffice.

These two looked to be a strong pair. I wonder where they were running to.

"Stop, sister." The boy was panting slightly, but he didn't decrease his speed. "Stop, you are hurt!"

Hurt? I cannot see anywhere where the girl could have a wound. They soon reached me, and the girl didn't say a thing within ten or so seconds. Then suddenly, she stood right in front of me. Then sniffed a couple of times. Looking through me into the unknown behind my back.

"I can sense something." The girl said as she grabbed the hilt of her sword. She lifted that thing as if that was made of foam. I seriously thought it was before it hit the ground right in front of me and cracked the pavement. Damn! The girl was strong. That's all that I could say.

The boy caught up to the girl. "Let's go back. We can fight it another time. Dexter will worry about us leaving without any words. I wonder if they already followed our trail or not." the they which he spoke of was different from Dexter or whomever he was speaking of.

The girl didn't answer as usual. She kept her cool look in her eyes as she sniffed again. She looked super cute, sniffing like a cat. But then she did something that wasn't very cute at all. She picked up the sword and swiped at me. I nearly had an heart attack and jumped back, but the sword was massive, and it still went through me. I was waiting to feel the pain, but there was none.

"I can sense something is here." The girl sounded unsure. "I can still sense it."

I had enough. I cannot stay here. She looked heavenly and all, but I needed to move. Whatever damn ability I triggered, I will not do it again. I swear!

"System, cancel < Clairvoyance >" Then another wave of pain in my head before the world got dark again. But before I was totally into the dark, the girl said something.

"This way, I can smell something interesting." She then must have started to run again. I didn't see it, but I heard footsteps before everything faded.

I opened my eyes to have Dana's face greeting me. She was worried. I wonder why she was concerned about me or all people. Dana was not any less pretty than that girl I just saw, but I never liked her for some reason. I tried to get up from what felt like her lap. She had me in her lap. Wow!

"You are up!" Aria's voice. "Are you sick? We can rest." Linda was beside her with a curious look. She didn't have the same worry on Aria's and Dana's faces, but she did look pitiful.

I got up with a massive headache. Damn that ability. I had seen many things and understood very little, but it hurt like hell in the head. I wonder if I get stronger, it will improve. It sure will show me different visions but will the headache be reduced or removed, for goodness sake. I looked around. Yes, this street and the street that the boy and the girl seemed the same. I didn't look at the sun, but I doubt I was seeing the present time from a different place. This skill is handy. I can scout dangerous areas early on before going into it. But I was not too fond of the headache.

I looked in the direction we were walking. I can see two-person running towards us. Damn it. The girl's nose seems sensitive. I stood up.

"Stand behind me." I looked at the running pair. The girl still held the sword. She didn't put it away. I wonder if she means to hit me with it. The boy looked unsure but was running behind nonetheless. My girls got behind me, and I gestured towards a nearby car. They soon got behind that car.

As soon as the girl came into speaking range, she jumped with that sword. I am amazed at how strong she is. The ground caved in where she stood before jumping. She swung the sword at me. I almost pooped my pants but then cooled my head. Maybe the headache helped, but I was able to dodge away.

"You smell of that thing." She had hatred spewing from her eyes. I wonder what I did for her to look at me with that look. The boy had two handguns in his hand pointed at me. I wonder where he got those. The large gun was still behind his back. He was looked conflicted but still kept the gun pointed at me.

The girl swung again and this time with more ferocity. I luckily dodged again.

"What the hell is wrong with you? Are you a demon in human form?"

"Demon?" The girl snickered, "You are reeking of the smell of that thing, and you dare accuse me of being a demon?" She tried to swing again, but the boy put away one of the guns and pulled her hand.

"I think we made some mistake here." He said to her. He pointed at the girls who were behind the car. "He has innocent people with him."

"They are probably for giving to that thing." She said.

"What thing?" I asked.

Both of them looked at me. The girl was annoyed along with being angry.

"The greater demon at the city center." The boy said it.

"You mean the thing with tentacle-like stuff?"

"Yes, how did you interact with that?"

"Why do you smell like that?" The girl said. It must be that dark wave that hit me before I left that thing. That must be why she can smell that demon.

"I have an ability which lets me peer into other places. I wanted to see what we're in the center of the city. And I saw some marine soldiers fighting a black tentacle-like creature. After that, I also stood in front of you when you swung your sword at me." I said this to the girl. For some reason, this girl made my heart beat a bit faster. I wanted to please her. Odd. I DO not wish to please any girl. They should be the ones to be pleasing me.

"Ohh!" That is all that she said before her face returned to be normal. The boy also kept his gun in the holsters on both sides. As I focused more on the girl that time, I didn't notice these two Glocks on his sides.

"You trust me?" I was amazed at how quickly they believed what I said.

"We can detect if anyone lies." The boy said. "You can let them come out." He pointed at the girls who were behind the car.
