Chapter 1: Prologue
Somewhere in Primal Chaos:
"…Hahh~, I'm soo tired of this all…."
A voice was heard reverberating throughout the hall, coming from the single person who's currently sitting on the throne. There were no other people inside the dilapidated hall apart from the said person. The male, having a characteristic of a black-haired and red eyes middle aged man wears black outfits throughout all his body, was having a weary face, making him looked like a person who are tired of living.
After uttering the words earlier, he kept on being silent while his eyes were staring on something far away, appearing to be lost in thoughts. This continued on for a while until the hall's door was suddenly blasted away before tons of people entered inside the hall abruptly.
*BOOM!*
"DEVIL GOD EM-, NO, DEATH GOD! YOUR MENACE ENDS TODAY!"
Some righteous words were shouted by the ones leading their pack towards the one sitting on the throne, which identified as the Death God. They are currently armed to the teeth, all poised for the inevitable conflict that might start at any moment.
"Hohou, it appears that I have a lot of big shots coming to visit my humble abode today. I'm sorry if I can't provide you guys with some hospitality, I'm alone after all." The Death God said while making an apologetic face.
"Spare us from your sophistry! Surrender now and we'll at least make your death painless!" The leader, the Eternal Heaven God Emperor Zhou Xuzi wasn't interested in having a normal conversation with him, urging him to surrender.
"…Is that so? Well…" The Death God began to talk while observing his intruders, as the tension in the air increases.
Hey guys, it's your boy here, Death God. Now, you might be wondering what on earth happened between us that leads towards this current volatile situation. Allow me to narrate the whole story first.
You see, about 2000 years ago, I was reborn in this world, the Primal Chaos after I died in my previous world. Yep, it's the so-called isekai trope cliché. Got me the whole package of being run over by truck-sama and then woke up and getting me cheats and the new world imma reborn into. There's slight difference however, as I didn't meet with ROB or even get to choose which kind cheat or world that I'm going into. It's all generated randomly by some artificial system, kinda like gacha.
So I just got a single cheat, which is increasing my mind processing ability by twice and Primal Chaos as my next world, that's it. And then I got immediately transported without warning whatsoever. Which is kinda lame, I was expecting to at least being able to choose my own cheat and where I'm going to but well, beggars cannot be choosers. But having the so-called cheat if you can say that and Primal Chaos as my reincarnated place doesn't make me feel optimistic on my future at all. It's a dog eats dog world after all.
As I woke up from my consciousness, I quickly realized that I'm inside a young boy's body, around 10 years old of age at a random backalley. It appears that I was reincarnated as a random orphan that can be seen anywhere in this dreary place, where the sky having a red color instead of the normal blue in Earth. Getting my bearings properly, I directly headed towards the nearby market area in order to find out which planet I'm currently at.
Hearing the peoples chattering for quite some time, I've learned that this planet is one of the smaller star systems in the Northern Divine Region, where the devils lived. Welp, there goes my early plan of getting an easy power up in Blue Pole Star, where tons of inheritances are currently at. And even if I wanted to go there I don't even know the right location nor having the ability to do it. Plus there's the whole situation of my race as a devil, I'm dead if I step even a single foot outside the Northern Divine Region, we're hated by others after all.
So having no other choices, my next step is getting stronger as fast as possible since only by becoming strong you don't have to worry about anything else, this is the truth of the world I'm currently at after all. After that maybe I'll just live peacefully I guess. Oi oi what about getting dem harems and conquering places and then becoming the Primal Chaos Overlord bro? Ain't that the main goal of most isekai'd person?
…You see, I'm actually a timid person, I prefer to get strong enough so that I can at least fend common rabbles, perhaps having a warm family and then find some corners in the world where we can live peacefully. So I don't want to face the hassle of managing tons of places and having enemies aiming at my throats due to jealousy and envy. Plus I have a low ambition, there's that.
But that can't be done if I don't even have enough strength to do it. So first things first, find some sects that are willing to take me in as a disciple, which is kinda hard since I have nothing to offer, I'm just a common orphan living in the slums after all. But aha, there's some ways to get over that problem. Based from my early investigation in the market, there will be an event that will be held by the strongest sect in the city in about a year where they'll open admission for anyone who managed to impress them enough during their tests. Thus I got an opportunity to get a place if I'm successful during that time.
So my current schedule now is doing some trainings by my own, should be easy enough, probably. And thus I began my training, starting from basic physical exercises first, doing it every day religiously. How about food bro? Ya need some protein to bulk up ya know. Don't worry, due to my brain working twice as fast and my knowledge from previous world, I've managed by doing part time works as accountants for the merchants in the marketplace, sometimes giving them ideas on what products that are suitable for the masses. So I've got enough funds for my trainings.
And what about your cultivation? Ain't that hard to do if you didn't have a teacher? Ah, you see, I don't actually know if this is included in my cheat or it is the former's experience from my reincarnated body, but he does actually had started cultivating, so I can just follow the body's instinct to kept on cultivating. And this body even has 20 profound veins opened, so it was a somewhat smooth sailing. I don't have knowledge on how to open more so I just have to be satisfied with what I have right now.
Because of my race as a devil, we can only use darkness-based profound arts so there are not much that I can do apart from experimenting its usage based on my paltry knowledge and logic. I mean, I was just a common highschool student before I died so I ain't knew much. Yes, I have twice the brain power right now but 1+1=2, so nothing much improvement on that part. The only pros were now I can react faster or making faster decisions on my thoughts, that's all. But we managed that, and I continued on my training and self-experimentation during that 1 year period.
As the years end, I've managed to increase my initial cultivation of the 7th Nascent Profound Realm up to the 6th True Profound Realm, dunno if that is impressive or not for an 11 year old kid, I have no one to compare to after all. On my profound art's side, I've invented several shadow-based attacks and defend techniques, which was useful for my hit-and-run battle style. I preferred to hide in the shadows and find the best timing to attack my enemies instead of facing them head on, it's more suitable for my mentality. Better to end things fast while conserving your energy instead of going gung-ho front-to-front confrontation.
Now, it's time for the main event, getting admitted as a disciple for the best sect in the city, the MoonBreaker Sect. It's one of the branch sects for the main ones at this star system's main capital. So if I managed to enter this one I have an opportunity to enter the main ones when I'm strong enough. Turns out I do managed to enter the sect, the elders were impressed with my cultivation level and techniques at my young age.
Therefore my phase as a MoonBreaker Sect's disciple begins, spending a few years in the branch sect until my cultivation rises to the Emperor Profound Realm before being transferred into the main branch for further studies. During these times I've learned all the profound arts that I can and scoured the libraries to increase my knowledge more, and hailed by the elders as once in a century talent.
What about the common trope of jealousy and envy from other disciple especially from the famed young masters? You didn't experience that? Of course I did, but since I send them packing each time they pestered me plus with the elder's support I've managed to get by, and therefore I had a smooth sailing in my Profound Way's studies.
The turning point of my life is when I've entered the Divine Origin Realm while I'm studying in the main branch, where I was chosen as the sect's representative for the youth's martial arts tournament. This was the event where all talented youth were invited across the whole Northern Divine Region. There, I was invited by Chi Wuyao, the Great Realm King of the Soul Stealing Realm to become her disciple since I've impressed her with my ability to fight equally with people having several ranks higher in cultivation level than me.
Not gonna lie, I was actually scared shitless because she didn't have a good reputation amongst men, since all her husbands was killed by herself after all. But not having other choices since I'm far weaker than her I just had to accept it, albeit reluctantly. During that time the only thing inside my mind is how much longer I have to live. And thus I began my new phase of life in the Soul Stealing Realm, as Chi Wuyao's disciple.
Apparently my initial worries did not happened, as the months passed by my early assumption on her characteristic was way different from what I've thought earlier. She's ruthless towards the others, but kind towards me and her Witches, her trusted attendants. It turns out what other people think about her was just an act she'd shown towards them. She just had to do it since it allows her to live somewhat peacefully in this cruel world. And the main reason why she had chosen me as her disciple was she can detect the same vibe coming from me.
Sometimes reality is much stranger than fiction huh? Having cleared that out, our relationship becomes much closer than before, and I had gained a newfound respect towards her, swearing to be loyal towards her until I die.
And so my life went on peacefully as I continued on my studies from her, raising ranks in cultivation as the years went by. Entering the 300th year of becoming her disciple, she deemed me good enough for graduation, as my ability and cultivation rank is currently just a step under her, surpassing even the Witches. She granted me the title of Wizard, being the only one under her and becoming her right-hand man, in which only her order I need to follow.
Having enough trust on me, she then told me her grand plan of conquering the whole Northern Divine Region as the sole ruler, and then changing the current state of the region into a peaceful one. Believing in my ability, she gave me the task of becoming the leader of the forces that will conquer the region, with the Witches as my aides. To be honest, I hate fighting but since her goal is a noble one and I'm also had fallen in love with her I carried on the order.
Thus began several hundred years of hardships as we wages war on the whole Northern Divine Region. But by hook and crook we've managed to defeat all the star system's leaders that were unwilling to submit to Chi Wuyao's rule after about 700 years of strife. This began the new era of reconstruction and peace on the region, with Chi Wuyao as the sole ruler while as the reward for my success and my persistent courting she marries me and thus giving me the title of Devil God Emperor. And we live happily ever after.
…Is what you've think isn't it? Wrong, we did experience around 300 years of peace but it doesn't last long, the other Divine Regions caught the wind of our prosperity. Being afraid that the devils will expand their influence since they're now strong enough, they launched an invasion towards the Northern Divine Region, thus beginning another era of strife. By that time since I had already half-step away from entering the Divine Extinction Realm, I've managed to fend their constant attacks reliably.
However, even I got tired of it all as it continued on for several hundred years. Needing an ally, Chi Wuyao contacted her best friend, Mu Xuanyin, Realm King of the Snow Song Realm for help. Yes, you heard that right, she's her best friend. Different from the original story, they've managed to become friends after the last time they had fought with each other. The connection of soul Chi Wuyao left inside Mu Xuanyin was able to make them understand their thoughts with each other.
Since I need to meet her to formulate some plans as she had agreed to help us, I stealthily went to the Snow Song Realm via one of my abilities, Shadow Ferry, where I can teleport to the places I've seen before. I can go there since Chi Wuyao shares the location due to having seen it before via Mu Xuanyin.
Leaving the Northern Divine Region's safety to Chi Wuyao and her Witches and then arrived at the Snow Song Realm, I've got acquinted with Mu Xuanyin. To be honest, there's not much she can do to help us since she was just a Realm King for a middle-rank Star Realm. If she joined hands with the devils, her Star Realm would be wiped out by the others instantly.
However, detecting that I have the ability to cultivate the Ice Pheonix God Investiture Cannon even though I'm a devil, she decided to impart her techniques to me, and perhaps it can increase my strength further so that I can force the other Divine Regions into a stalemate.
Thus began my new chapter of studying under Mu Xuanyin for several years, travelling between both Star Systems each time Chi Wuyao needs my strength to fend the enemies. It went on perfectly, and I even managed to combine both my darkness and Mu Xuanyin's ice arts into a new profound art, dubbed the Darkness Ice Profound Arts.
Apart from the ice coldness, the darkness has the ability of corrupting others, so it was a kinda nasty art. Got a lame name but as long as it works then it's all good. Since we frequently meet with each other, it became inevitable that we've fallen in love with each other, making her my second lover. But it was hidden from the others since I'm a devil after all. My devil's characteristic was hidden well by using some of my techniques so nothing bad happened to me during my stay there.
Ending my training arc, I then went back to the Northern Divine Region, and began to form a counterattack force that will defeat the 3 Divine Region's invasion army. With my newfound strength, we've managed to defeat them easily and send them packing back to where they belong. However, since the devil populaces were still angry with the invasion they urge us to conquer the other Divine Regions but Chi Wuyao didn't want that, so we opted for a peace talks instead to solve our difference.
Sending envoys to the other Divine Region's God Emperors for the peace talks personally, they agreed to do it, and Mu Xuanyin was selected as one of the mediators. Why do you agree to do this dumb shit bro? This is clearly a trap written all over it. I know, but both Chi Wuyao and I were already tired of this constant strife shit and we just wanted it to end. Without a mutual understanding between devils and humans, this situation will never end.
And thus the peace talks began, with me as the devil's representative while Zhou Xuzi, the Eternal Heaven Realm King and his other God Emperor's friends as the 3 Divine Region's representative. Chi Wuyao stayed in the Northern Divine Region just in case of foul play happening. The God Emperors need to come together as a precaution since my strength rivals that of the Dragon God's Realm King, Long Bai.
My instinct giving red alert since Long Bai wasn't here in the peace talks turns out to be correct. After exchanging several pleasantries they all ganged up attacking me, resorting to using cursed weapons and poisons to bring me down. Fending their attacks bravely as I've gotten weaker due to being cursed and poisoned, I've barely managed to escape with Mu Xuanyin's help, her dying figure was all I can see as I vanished from the place.
Arriving at the Chi Wuyao's palace, I was shown a destroyed palace, with Chi Wuyao's and the Witches mangled corpses spreading across my views. Apparently this was their plan, where Zhou Xuzi and the others are tasked to kill me while Long Bai and his subjects will eliminate Chi Wuyao. On that day, I've lost all my loved ones, and my scream reverberated throughout the whole Northern Divine Region, destroying the planet I'm currently at and the others nearby due to my burning rage.
From that moment on, since I've got nothing else to lose and my mind focused on revenge I start on beginning my solo war with my enemies, doing guerilla attacks here and there on the 3 other Divine Regions, lasting for more than 500 years. Due to my infamy of killing peoples discreetly, they've began to call me as the Death God, where his scythes will reap all his enemies indiscriminately. The finale was where I finally managed to kill Long Bai and his dragon brethren, causing me having to recuperate for several hundred years due to my heavy injuries.
Getting tired and disillusioned from the constant fightings, I've retreated to my current location as I'm recovering before planning to do one last hurrah towards my enemies and finally die without regrets. Now back on to the current situation, where they had found my hiding spot at last.
"…Is that so? Well, thanks for coming here all together, I don't have to work hard to group you all. Wheel, do it."
"Yes, master~!"
"WAI-"
They didn't even manage to utter another word before darkness enveloped all of us, coming from Evil Infant's Wheel of Myriad Tribulation and the Poison Spirit of the Sky Poison Pearl. Both them were obtained from the Blue Pole Star during my visit there in order to heal myself. Combining both of them together will form the Myriad Tribulation Poison, capable to kill even the True Gods. This is my trump card to kill all my enemies alongside myself, kinda like a suicide bombing.
As my enemies wailed due to getting poisoned and dying with me, I uttered my final words.
"…Yao'er, Yin'er…this Wu Zetian can finally meet you again…"
Thus my life in Primal Chaos ends, my vision darkens and I know no more.

"Daddy~! Look at that!" A short brown-haired little girl shouted while pointing towards the sea, where an injured teenager was seen drifted on the beach.
"What's the matter, Miri? T-That's?! Dear, call the ambulance fast!" Her father immediately urged his wife to call the ambulance as he ran towards the beach.
