Chapter 4: Chapter Four - First Day Matters

In The Dining Room

At The Stephensons' Mansion

It was such a promising Monday Morning, the warm and irrepressible rays were streaming thru my curtains. I woke up to the aroma of luscious and freshly baked scones and donuts. I quickly brushed my teeth and take my bath after my ten minutes prayers. I carefully wore my clothes, styled my hair, rub some moisturizing lotion on my skin and put on some good smelling perfume. I ran down the stairs to greet my family and take my breakfast.

We had scones, strawberry muffins, donuts and ice tea. I had already finished eating so I rushed to arrange my lunch and carefully packed it.

"Dad, aren't you going to drive me to school today?" I asked my dad who was still sipping his coffee and skimming thru the newly delivered newspapers.

My dad turned to look at me in a droll manner which made me giggle slightly. "Oh sorry dear Jemima but I can't, I will be driving your kid sister to school today 'cause she..."

"I understand." I mumbled those words as I scowled at Mildred. She was still munching on those delicious cinnamon donuts.

'She's still a child but possess the valor of an adult.' I thought and bade farewells to my family.

I sat down on the wooden bench, waiting for a bus. My neighbor, Ms Lois offered to drop me at school. She's such a kind lady. Least, I thanked her for her kind action.

I turned around and saw a large festooned billboard and I read, 'Welcome...to Skye Evander...High School...' I entered thru the gate and saw swarms of students walking to and fro. I was so amazed and confused simultaneously.

How can such large number of students fit into such...! Oh my! The beautiful buildings. There on the right was a campanile, followed by a refectory and canteen.

There was a separate land for classes and laboratories and apartment lodges. There was a crescent building far off from the other buildings, I think it's the library.

A secluded equipped area known as the sports ground and I could see the beautiful lawns, gardens and fruit orchards. There were so many buildings that I don't even know.

I decided to take the classroom building. I was walking thru the hallway and I mistakenly bumped into a young teenage girl tho she was a year older than me. She was a bluish ombré blonde with hazel-hued eyes. She was much more taller than me and looked like a croesus' daughter, judging by her ritzy and ostentatious looks. Goddamn! I was so tensed and nervous.
