Chapter 2: Chapter 1
When Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. awoke the next morning, there was a green gelatinous ball of sludge trying to feed on his body.
"Huh, neat." Said Richard Newgate Jr. said in surprise of the green slime trying to feed on his lab coat. "This must be one of those slime things from those games. Never thought I'd see one that's alive." He said pulling some gloves from one of his pockets.
Richard Newgate Jr. put the gloves on and ripped the slime of his body, and began examining the slime. At first it was simply holding and looking at its behaviour, poking and pinching at its body, before ripping bits out and off the slime. Eventually all that was left of the slime was, its sludge covered nucleus.
The nucleus was like a toy bowling ball, it had 3 little holes and was as big as an apple, the only difference between a toy and the nucleus was that the nucleus was much tougher and harder. The nucleus also somewhat smelled a little like green apple and lime. Out of curiosity, Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. took a bite out of the nucleus, only to find out it tastes like soil (Don't ask weather I know how soil tastes, cause I don't). Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. left it at one bite to see if he got sick after eating the nucleus. The reason behind this was simple, if he got sick it meant he couldn't use it as a food source, but if he didn't it meant he could.
The next morning, there wasn't anything particularly wrong with him other than him needing to take a massive dump. Not wanting to soil him self and be found with a brown lump in the pants of his dead body he let on go on the base of a tree and used some of the lower hanging leaves as toilet paper. After the near embarrassment, Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. decided that dying with his dignity would be better.
Over the next few days, Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. spent his time studying slimes and losing weight. He was so hungry that eating grass would of been fine, but he refused to as he wanted to at least die human and not like cattle.
In only five days, Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. had almost 100% understood the biology of slimes. To him they seemed like a mix of a lawnmower, a composter and a cell. The slime would 'eat' the grass and leaf mulch. This is broken down into nutrients for the slime and allows it to gain mass. When the slime has enough mass, it produces a secondary core and splits. After a few splits the slime would 'die' and melt into the soil, leaving its core. The area which the slime had 'melted' into would receive a boost in it's growth rate for a period of time. With this Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. decided to label these slimes as mulch slimes and slimes that fed solely on leaf foliage would be called foliage slimes. New mulch slimes that were forcefully fed foliage, would produce a foliage slime offspring. Of course the two kinds of slimes did have a few differences. Foliage slimes, were small than mulch slimes and were a darker shade of green compared to their relative.
Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. only had a couple weeks left he became extremely apathetic and started to rethink his life. He started to contemplate weather he lived a good, fulfilling life , rather than a dull and boring one. As he was about to lose his sanity from overthinking and rethinking his life, he was found by a beautiful, light brown haired girl with a bow. Feeling pity for Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. she gave him some of her dried meat.
"■■■ ■■■ ■■■¿" she says but Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. could not understand, Even though knows over 10 languages. To him all he could hear was a bunch of black squares and an upside-down question mark. When she saw that Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. could not understand, she started chanting in ASCII Alt-code. "Now? Understand?" Were the next words to come out of her mouth. Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. shook his head up and down, not knowing if the chant allowed bi-directional translation. "Name? and what do?"
"I am Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. My farther Richard Newgate Jr. is a brilliant scientist and researcher, And What I'm doing? I... Don't know either. I just sort of found myself here a week and a half ago." Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. said in full confidence as it gradually went into uncertainty as he started to talk more about his situation.
Though the conversation was short, Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. understood that there was nothing else to talk about, especially since he came from an elitist family, meaning he could only talk to people of the same status which there was none around him or anywhere in the galaxy.
Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. decided to get a closer look at the girl. "(Her face is nice, her rack is flat, her ass is lacking, she is like an hourglass, and her thighs are an 8/10, leaving her with an average of 6.4/10. Her ears are also elf like but also covered in fur somewhat like a Faye.)" Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. thought to himself as he checked her out. "Hay... I never caught your name. So can you tell me what it is?" he asked trying to sound casual.
"Ma name is Aerin, pronounced as Air-Rin." she said with a surprisingly Scottish accent.
"So a Aerin what is this place?" Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. said trying his best to not mispronounce her name as Eh-Rin.
"This is Pril-o-cress, a peaceful forest next to Mahodel, a town, in the Bivar Kingdom."
"So... this forest is Pril-o-cress, near mahodel in a Kingdom called Bivar. Is that all I need to know?"
"What else is there to know?"
"You know, stuff like: volcanic activity; tectonic movement; political state; weather it's land locked or not and so on so forth."
"Ohhhh~. You mean the general knowledge of Bivar" she said no longer confused. " Well there are no volcanic regions in Bivar. I don't know what Tectonic Movement means. Bivar is a neutral country so there shouldn't be any wars any time soon. And the weather is somewhat predictable due to the use of clairvoyance and prediction magic." she explained.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Hold up. There's magic?" Said Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. as if his entire reality had just shattered. " Why didn't you say so sooner, Aerin?"
"I thought you knew." she exclaimed slightly flustered.
"Okay then. Explain this world to me as if I was a child, around 4 or 5."
Aerin began to explain as simply as she could to Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. (I'll explain in a side chapter). Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr., while listening to Aerin attentively, he was making mental notes on what seemed to be key pieces of information.
"So what you're saying is, if I say 'Status', a screen only visible to me, and me alone, will show me all my stats and skills?"
"If you don't believe me, try it yourself."
"Okay if you say so..." Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. said not willing to believe Aerin. "S- Status." Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. said will slight hesitation and reluctance. All of a sudden a grey, square screen with curved corners appeared in front of his eyes.
The screen was slightly transparent, and gave a grey tint to the background. The text was black and written with a digital font, as if it were from an old, old, old computer. The Board was split into two sections, both with some black, digital text. The top half of the board had stats like HP, MP, STR and similar acronyms for other stats. The bottom half had only one skill followed by three indented skills as if the three skills were a computer function that makes the 1st mentioned skills.
Totally speechless, Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. started to point at his status board while looking back at forth between it and Aerin, with his jaw hung open.
"Hay, can you explain the different type of skills?" Richard sin of Richard Newgate Jr. said after calming himself down from the excitement of waking up to his new reality.
"Why would you need that?" she said giggling at Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr.'s burst of childish excitement.
"Oh yeah. You still don't know my situation"
"Situation?" Aerin said assuming Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. was born in the same world as her.
"You could probably tell, but I ain't from around here. In fact, I am from another dimension." Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. said trying his best not to laugh, at his small reference to an old T.V show he managed to source before his transmigration.
"Another Die-Men-shun?" Aerin now confused at the sudden development.
"Yeah, im from another world? planet? galaxy, heck maybe another universe." Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. explained whilst trying to make sense of his own situation.
"Slow down. My small commoner mind cannot keep up." She said as she slowly shifts to a chibi with swirly eyes of confusion.
"You don't know?" Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. exclaimed in surprise. "Damn, this world is less developed than i thought." He muttered to himself. "Well to keep it simple, im not from around here" He said trying not to complicate things further. "Where im from we didn't have things like status boards, magic and things of the sort. But we did have many different types of swords, and little weapons known as guns, that shoot little metal arrows, however they were made fully illegal cause some people used them incorrectly."
"Whoa~ your world sounds magical!" She said, as if she was a child witnessing a magic trick for the 1st time in their life.
"*Cough cough* says the one that lives in a world of swords and magic. *Cough cough*" Richard son of Richard Newgate Jr. hiding his comment.
"Huh?"
"Hmm?"
