Chapter 22: Chapter 22
(A/N: For those of you who asked when Akatsuki uses his power, the answer is Chapter 28 onwards.)
Sona Sitri was having a rather peaceful day alone in the student council room while the others were in their respective classes, which she figured would not last given the presence of that mysterious guy in her territory. She wanted to consult Rias about what they should do once she would talk to Akatsuki about his identity and thankfully she managed to ask him to come to the student council room to talk.
As she was thinking about Akatsuki, Sona heard a knock on the door. Perhaps Rias had found another to be a member of her peerage? She would ask her later.
But right now, she had a more pressing engagement, namely the sudden appearance of four students, three females and one male. After having the three female students barge in with the famous silent prince, Akatsuki Kojou, the devil expected a rather annoying conversation seeing how together with him and her queen was also Himeragi Yukina, one of the new students and at the same time a member of the Church, while the fourth one was their classmate Kiyome Abe.
"Kaichou," Tsubaki said, pointing to the very tired guy that was beside her.
"I have brought Kojou-san here, but as you can see these two also followed me."
Sona sat up from her seat, frowning. "Why did the two of you come here?"
"Sona-Kaichou, I have to always keep my eyes on him or who knows what he could do. Akatsuki-senpai may not look like the famous trio, but he's as perverted as them, so for the safety of all females in the school, I have to keep my eyes on him."
While this kind of reason may work against most people, Sona wasn't one of them, but for the moment she wouldn't say anything related to the identity of the girl.
"And you, Kiyome-san?"
"I can't let Kojou-kun alone with you or Rias. Sorry Sona, but I'm not giving up on him, even for you two."
Sona put a hand on her forehead, finally understanding why did these two girls come with him…both of them like this guy, and while it seems that he didn't say anything to them, that annoying smile on his face told her everything.
"Fine, you can stay, but please don't interrupt me."
Akatsuki was the first one to sit on the couch while Yukina and Abe maneuvered around him and sit on his sides while hugging his arms, clearly trying to make a point. Tsubaki could only giggle as she saw her master reaching the limit of how much she could take and with the loss suffered against him…only Satan knows what she would do once she reaches her limit.
Sona rearranges her glass before she looks at the trio, especially at Akatsuki. While all of Kuoh was joint-ruled by herself and Rias, the people inside her territory were important and valuable, more than ever when some of them are special. Akatsuki Kojou was one of them, so as a co-ruler, it was under her jurisdiction to find if he was an enemy or a friend.
"Could you tell me why did you do it?" The Sitri Heiress asked, looking at Akatsuki.
"I'd think it would be better to tell me why do you want to know. After all, I didn't do anything that could put the safety of the people in danger, I only helped them."
Sona could only shake her head before opening a drawer, taking from inside the drawer a photo of his appearance from the previous night's hunt. She stood up and walked over to him, handing him the photo.
"Now can you tell me what you are, Akatsuki Kojou-san?"
"You want answers while I'm tired and bored so let's do something that would please both of us. Let's play a game where one party would ask a question while the other one would have to answer, what do you say Kaichou?"
"Deal."
"Splendid. Well, let me be the first one to answer the question. While I'm not one hundred percent sure, I can say that I'm some sort of vampire, one that was unwillingly transformed."
"I see…Does that have something to do with you changing your home?"
"Now, now, Kaichou, don't hurry without answering my question. Do you have a boyfriend?"
When she heard the question, Sona blushed while at that same time, I felt both of my sides being pinched by two very jealous girls.
"Ahem, I do not have any relationship with any male, now would you answer my question."
"Kind of. While the main reason for leaving my home was that I lost my family there and that it would be easier for my aunt to take care of me here, I truly wanted to leave that place and live my life the best I could."
"I'm sorry for bringing your past into this, but please understand my standing."
"Don't worry about it, I'm not some edgy brat that only wants revenge, I know that what happened there isn't related to me, but one day I hope to find the truth. Now, would you go out on a date with me?"
"Yes! No! No, yes I may go, but not now."
"Perfect, thank you Kaichou, I promise that I'll take good care of you in the future. "
In the end, she ask me if I was an enemy or if I just wanted to live without a care in the world, to which I answered that I only want to enjoy my life and do as much good as I could, till the day I die.
Afterward, Sona let us leave, blushing as her fingers drifted across the photo of Akatsuki Kojou. Whatever Akatsuki was, she found him annoying yet strangely pleasant for some reason Something about it was just interesting, almost as if she was hoping for him to actually ask her out and become her world. A world where she would need to keep dealing with all the devil politics, a world where she could achieve her dream, and more importantly a world where she could choose her own destiny.
