Chapter 10: chapter 9
Samra p.o.v
After I left the restaurant, I was pissed off with the way james acted as if I didn't even exist. I took a taxi back to the dorm as I got out I saw Martha talking to someone and as soon as she saw me the person left Immediately which was awkward, because she usually introduces me to her friends if I don't know them, but this time it wasn't as I expected.
She then cam up to me smiling and asked me how the date was.
"Who was that guy ?" I asked as I saw a figure of a guy and how suspicious she looked.
"Th...that's... no one don't worry about it" she said looking around.
"Martha are you alright, why do you look suspicious as if you're hiding something?" I asked curiously.
"A...am sorry samra you're right I am hiding something b...but I can't t...tell you right now please understand " she begged.
"Understand what martha ,you are not even telling me anything " I said worryingly.
"I....I might be in trouble or even get expelled but I don't want to lose this opportunity samra" she said looking around as if she was afraid of something.
"Martha calm down lets go to our dorm then have a talk" I suggested and she nod her head in agreement.
When we entered our room, she sat on a sofa and I went to her her a glass of water then sat next to her. She drank it and took a deep breath before she said what was going on.
Flashback
A year ago when I graduated from high school, I found out that my parents were getting divorced and it broke me down.
I never thought that a day would come where I would have to see my parents separating, I have always admired their lives and wished to have someone like my dad but I guess it was never meant to be.
One day as I got ready to go to college, I heard my parents fighting I ran downstairs and saw my mom at the door and my dad holding her arm as if to ask her not to leave but she didn't care.
I ran outside to catch up with her but she had already gone, she didn't even stop to at least talk to me and I felt like I never existed to her.
So I decided to let it be but for my dad he looked lost but I tried to talk to him but he reminded me to just concentrate on my studies and since then I never wanted to talk about her.
Even when I went back home for holiday,one day I saw a woman same age as my mom cleaning the dining room, first I thought she was a housemaid but when I saw my dad hung her and kissing her forehead I realized he remarried again.
I couldn't believe it, how could he replaced her in just months after divorce, for once I thought they would be back together but I guess I was wrong.
I got angry and fought with my dad,he said he never cared about her and I should move on with my life. I got angry and left ,since that day I got involved with someone who introduced me to drugs and I thought it would be fun to find it as a way to forget my painful life but I was so wrong.
End of flashback
As she was done I couldn't believe she went through all this pain as I thought she has a perfect life as she is always the joyful person who can make anyone's day a happy one.
"I am.... I don't know what to say martha" I said not knowing what to say.
"It's ok, am glad you didn't judge me unlike someone else " she said looking at the picture next to her bed.
"You mean her?" I asked as I turned around and looked at what she was staring at.
"Yeah Sophia, she was my first roommate who I can say she was religious " she said.
"You mean to say Sophia was your roommate so what happened?did you fight?" I asked showing my fist.
"No we didn't, we had our fun but one time she came back from class tour and found me super drank and the room was messy she got angry and we argued a...."she stopped as she was wiped her tears.
"Hey are you ok, what happened between you two ?" I asked her as we hugged.
"I guess she noticed how lost and confused I was, I didn't even bother but did what I thought would make me happy,party endlessly while she did her part to talk to me so I decided to talk to her but I guess it didn't work as she expected " she said .
"But that day when you introduced me to her you said she was your friend am I wrong?" I asked
"No you're not, the thing is when we came back after summer break, her side was cleared so I guessed she had changed room, when I sat on my bed she had left a letter wishing me the best and hoped to stay friends "she said.
"So you're still friends after everything that happened, so tell me who was the guy you were talking to earlier?" I asked her.
She first hesitated but then she talked and I couldn't believe what she said next.
"He is a guy whom I bought drugs from longtime ago but am having difficulty getting rid of him and am scared he might get me into trouble "she said as she sounded scared.
"What do you mean by getting you into trouble?" I asked her confused.
"As you know how strict this school is, if I get into trouble by being involved in drugs my reputation will be at stake " she said.
"So how do you plan to get out of it?" I asked.
"I think I should get help from my councillor mr. Blair he might help" she said convinced.
I never thought that Martha would ever be a troublemaker she's always active and best in studies but today I found out she was involved with drug addiction. All I pray is that mr blair would help her.
Time skip
"By the way how was your date?" She asked as she poured me a glass of milk.
"Don't even remind me,I can't believe the guy is such a jerk can you imagine he flirt with a waitress in front of me" I said angrily.
"No way, but I don't think james would do such a thing you must be imagining it "she said shaking her head.
"What makes you think like that, he is a pla-y-er I hate it" I said biting the biscuit.
"I know james, he's a good guy, give him a chance please" she whined.
"Sorry bae, I made up my mind i wont be a game to a player so not going to happen "i said winking at her.
I then went to the bathroom and did my night routine. As I got ready to sleep. I got a notification on my phone.
I opened it and it was a message from Brian.
"Hey are you ok? I saw you running out of a restaurant in anger?" He asked with a worried emoji.
I answered him and we talked for a while I found myself sleepy so I didn't answer him as I dozed off....
