Chapter 16: Battle Intent

Right after delivering a batch of poisonous ingredients and the materials requested by Kong Xiang, Ding Xiaolong briefed her family about how she met Kong Xiang. Yuan Meng had already retired to his private chamber, after giving Ding Bojing some replenishing fluids. Ding Peng and his wife were shocked beyond belief when their daughter recounted Kong Xiang's miraculous deeds. Upon hearing he possessed no cultivation a few hours ago and suddenly rose to his present realm relying on an impossible hypothetical sketch, they lost their minds.

Ding Bojing was awake and listened to the conversation. Having been rid of the Gu, he was too energetic to rest. More so, he was curious about this age mate of his that managed to point out what was wrong with him and worked with his father to eliminate it.

"You must not let anyone know be gained enlightenment from Hou Da's note" Ding Peng was more than aware of the bloodbath that could arise if people were aware that someone was able to cultivate an art that was outside the possible meridian system.

His daughter had a sly smile that looked just like the one on his face. "So, if we cannot lure him, we help him subtly. Providing cultivation resources even at subsidized cost is an indirect investment"

Just as the two were giving you each other scheming glances and sly smiles, Ding Bojing and his mom looked at the two and shook their heads at the exact same time. Upon realizing they had done the same thing, his mom laughed and gave him a tearful hug. Ding Bojing and Ding Xiaolong broke away from their reverie and joined the emotional moment.

The day passed quickly, and soon, it was sunset. At the guard post of the mansion, the security guard was arrogantly refusing to grant Li Luo entry.

"Miss Xiaolong said I could come to the mansion to look for her and Kong Xiang"

He looked coldly at her.

"You can ask Miss Xiaolong if you don't believe me."

He looked on, drawling. " The like of you wants to see Miss Xiaolong? An ordinary peasant like you is not worthy enough to send me to ask my superiors questions. Quickly get out and crawl away from here,"

She exploded in anger and shouted, her voice reinforced with qi. "Let me in!" Her words were accompanied by a large fist strike which encompassed the guard's vision.

'BANG' The guard slammed his back heavily against the steel gate. The commotion instantly alerted other security guards who left their outposts and rushed to the scene.

"HALT!" A tall bulky guard shouted in a menacing voice. Li Luo looked at him and said in an arrogant tone, "I want to see Miss Xiaolong."

He paused. Her arrogant tone seemed to suggest she had a background, and it could be that her shabby clothes were just a disguise to avoid detection.

"You cannot see Miss Xiaolong unless you have a token of invitation,"

Li Luo said,"She told me I could come see her. I didn't receive any such token"

The guard lying on the floor screamed, "Lies. All lies. She's just a peasant that sneak attacked me when I refused to let her forcefully enter without permission."

Li Luo's eyes turned frosty. In an instant, he was sent flying, slamming heavily against the gate. Cracking sounds could be heard from his body. It seemed some of his bones got broken.

The bulky guard did not look too happy, as he had been disregarded just now. No matter what, the guard was under his jurisdiction, and attacking him was the same as giving him no face. He looked straight into her eyes. Her eyes stared back effortlessly. Slowly but steadily, he revealed his aura in an attempt to intimidate her. Seeing her motionless, he thought she was frightened and gave a cold smirk. While he was basking in his fulfilled feelings, a far stronger aura erupted from Li Luo and broke apart his aura, causing him to spit out huge mouthfuls of blood. His shock was even more when he sensed the Intent radiating around the frosty eyed Li Luo.
