Chapter 8: Chapter 7

Samara wore a purple flower dress with light brown boots. She was meeting her fiancee today and she was super excited. She smiled as she admired herself in the mirror.

"Perfect" she whispered.

Picking up a small bag, she left the apartment.

"Maybe, if I asked, he will visit Daddy," she thought to herself.

She hailed a taxi.

"Where to madam?"

"French Laundry please." she checked her phone again to be sure. Sir Charles had arranged for their first meeting at this restaurant that she knew nothing about.

The driver's eyes widened a little. He scanned her attire again.

"Maybe she works there." he thought as he began driving. Everyone knows you can't go to a restaurant as expensive as that without wearing formal attire.

She was seconds away from falling asleep when the driver finally announced their arrival. They had spent almost two hours on the way and she was worried about how much the ride will cost.

"That will be 23 dollars, mam."She looked at his board and saw that it was indeed 23 dollars. She checked her purse and mentally calculated how much she would spend back home. She handed him the money and looked at the 10 dollar bundle left in her purse. It won't even be enough for a bus ticket.

'Maybe her fiance will be kind enough to drop her home' she thought.

" Thank you," she said to the driver and stumbled out of the car. The luxurious and expensive building caught her off-guard and she stumbled a little as the driver suddenly drove forward.

"Shit." She whispered.

Just how rich was her soon-to-be husband?

She consciously crossed her arms around her chest as customers entering into the restaurant in beautiful and formal attire looked at her with disdain. She clearly did not belong there and she knew that. She hated attention and now she had it, she could only wish for the ground to open and swallow her.

It was at that point that she realized... She doesn't even know what her fiancee looks like.

...

Neil watched the female in purple dress from the glass walls of the restaurant. He double-checked his phone to be sure he had the right woman.

'Yep, she's the one.'

Nothing was exciting about her. She had no curves, her blonde hair was turning dirty blonde, her eyes were boring and her figure was just....

He wished to be anywhere but here, yet his grandfather had coerced him into coming here. He decided to make her wait before he made himself known. After all, she had made him wait for over 10 minutes, she deserves punishment for that.

The woman looked uncomfortable. She kept glancing at her phone and looking up at the sky. It was going to rain soon. Neil sighed and leaned back in his chair eyeing the woman with utmost disgust. Right now he would prefer a prostitute with more curves than this 'child' in front of him. He wasn't ready to be seen with someone like her. She wasn't even dressed properly for a restaurant as expensive as this one. Where did she think they were meeting? Macdonalds?

When the rain started to increase, Samara knew she had to step inside, maybe her fiance would recognize her. She stepped inside and immediately blushed when all eyes turned to her. She could see the disgust on their faces as she approached an empty table. She kept her head down. A waiter dressed in a more formal attire than her approached her. He cleared his throat to get her attention. Samara's head snapped up and she caught the disgust and something else in his eyes before it vanished. Was it... Was it Lust?. Offering her a smile, he asked with a bit of an Italian accent.

"Can I interest you in a drink to start?"

"N..no thank you I am waiting for someone. We were supposed to meet here"

Guessing she was a con artist here to rob rich men of their money, he called security. She wasn't the first. They had several women last week who dressed up in formal and expensive attire and came in to 'wait' for someone. They would wait for a single man who would come into the restaurant and put up their seduction skills. The next morning they would get reports from those customers that they could not find their credit cards, wallets, and any other valuable thing they had on them.

"What? " Samara asked surprised when she saw the security guards in front of her. The whole restaurant was now looking at her.

"I have reason to believe you are a con artist madam." The waiter addressed her.

"But I'm not. I am supposed to meet my fiance here. I'm not lying."

Hearing the word fiance, Neil decided that he had had enough. He would not want anyone knowing that the disgrace in front of them was going to be his future wife....unfortunately. He planned to lock her up in the quarters behind his mansion. He signaled to one of his bodyguards to fetch her. Nodding at his boss, he approached the scene.

"Excuse me. I will be taking her." He went to grab Samara's arm when the waiter interrupted.

"I am sorry sir but this lady may be a..."

The bodyguard gave him a sharp look immediately cutting him off.

"I said I will be taking her." He replied in a tone that made the security guards take a step back.

The waiter raised his hands to show he meant no harm and took a step back.

Samara did not know who the man was but as long as he was taking her away from the embarrassing and degrading scene she was ready to follow him to the ends of the earth.....well not exactly.

"Thank you so much, sir." She said trying to ignore the strong grip he had on her arm. Everyone turned back to their conversation and ignored the big and buff man who was pulling her towards the dark and farthest corner of the restaurant.....away from the view of everyone.

Samara started to panic.

"I...Sir...Please where are you taking....."

"Sit," he said firmly, daring her to do otherwise.

She sat in the seat across from a man in sunglasses. Although she was taking in his beautiful features, from his shiny black hair that was gelled back to his firm pink lips that was set in a firm line, her mind was getting ready to flee and shout at the sight of danger.

"If you think I am going to harm your pathetic ass think again," Neil spoke coldly.

Samara relaxed as she heard a familiar voice. She was now searching her brain for where she had heard the voice before: school, work, hospital, TV.....

TV.

She looked closely at the man in front of her.

No.....fucking.....way.

She gasped loudly.

"Are you...are you....are you Neil Thompson?"

Neil removed his sunglasses. "Hello Fiancee" he smirked and Samara fainted.
