Chapter 32: Unacceptable News
"That is not even the problem. We have to unite with the werewolves in order to defeat this doom that is coming. Also, the witches have offered to help. That is not the only problem we have. She also told me that Darrell is my mate." Cyrene said.
"How can that be possible? You are a huntress. For pig's sake, you can't be mated to a werewolf that an abomination." Noel said, angry he tried to hide his frustration because of the mate thing, but he was unable.
Cyrene, not used to hearing him bust out like that, looked at him amazed but continued with what she was saying before.
"As if making me his mate is not punishment enough, we were linked together so that if anyone between us dies, the other one dies, so if you kill him, you will be killing me too," Cyrene explained to Noel, who was pacing around full of anger.
Cyrene started wondering why he was acting that way, but she did not bother to ask him what was wrong with him. She just shook her head.
"So go look for me a few soldiers so that we can go meet," Cyrene commanded him.
"You have got to be kidding me. I can't allow you to go to meet with Darrell, who is supposed to be your mate. You know how alphas are possessive about their mates who knows what he can do so that he can take you to be his mate we can't risk that." Noel said, and this pissed off Cyrene .
"You have no right to tell me whether to go or not, and I wonder why you are behaving like a possessive alpha all of sudden. Those are the life of my parents that we are going to save, so don't say that you won't let me go. Now go get the soldier before I become mad." Cyrene said as she dismissed him angrily.
She could not get what was wrong with him that he was behaving like that.
After half an hour, he came back with five soldiers, two female and three male.
She ordered those of them that did not have their weapons to look into the things that were being collected.
After everyone was prepared, they set out for the dead valley, where they arrived shortly after two, and they found the werewolves waiting for them.
DEAD VALLEY.
The handsome alpha was what seemed to capture Cyrene's attention.
They stared into each other for long until they were interrupted by someone clearing their throat loudly, and who else could that be if not the jealous Noel.
Darrell glared at him for interrupting them. Cyrene looked with a faded shade as she blushed, and this did not go unnoticed by both Noel and Darrell.
Darrell briefly smiled as he noticed the effect he had on the huntress before him while Noel just scowled.
She quickly covered her feelings and out on a business face.
"To what do I owe the pressure of being invited to the meeting by the big bad alpha?" Cyrene asked sarcastically
"You know the reason we called you to hear. So here is our offer. We let your parent-free, and you agree to be my mate, and also, you have to promise not to hunt our kind anymore." Darrell told her.
"That will never happen. You cannot have her as you mate over my dead body. You do not deserve the honor of having him as your mate." Noel interrupted Cyrene before she could speak, earning a growl from both Cyrene and Darrell.
When they had Cyrene growl, they all looked at her as if she had grown a second head.
Realizing the mistake she had done she cleared her throat, making everyone snap and look somewhere else except her.
"The last I confirmed, she could speak for herself, so I don't get why you have to answer for her," Darrell told Noel.
"Can you shut up both of you? Have I had enough of you? Here is what I have to say I am never going to become your mate. And I don't care what you think you are holding my parent in your filthy home, but you should know that you are dealing with a blood hunter here, and I will stop at nothing less than getting my parent. You won't know what happened when I decide to come for them and do you dare even think of killing them because I will make sure your life will be a nightmare, and trust me, you don't want to be on my bad side." Cyrene told Darrell firmly.
