Chapter 31: Questions without Answers

Zach's PoV:

As we reached our mansion, I picked Irene carefully. She looked fragile and delicate.

As delicate as a flower. I carried her all the way even without passing her to any other who is here to do their duty.

The stretcher was brought in and I refused to make her lay on that, I refused to let her go. I wish there is a way to take away her pain. My heart wrenched… my whole body felt shaken.

Doctors forcefully took her inside the observation room. I couldn't leave her.

"Boss.. we need a bit time. You may take rest" the Doctor spoke carefully, asking me to leave. I refused to do so.

"Treat her well, she should be returning healthy" I warned them.

"We will do our best" they replied.

They have started treatment and Darren requested me to look into Matteo's matter and concentrate on the links until where his network must have spread to.

Nonetheless, I couldn't care about any other thing than Irene, her wounded body is the only thing I could remember.
