Chapter 2: Let's Eat!
Six years later a small boy can be seen reading a book in their room. This boy is Feng Wei, and today is the day that he will start cultivating. 'Sigh, it has been six years already and I am only going to start cultivating now. I feel like I have really wasted these past six years, but I have at least made sure to sign-in every day. Although I have not been able to use any of the items the system has given me, I have been reading all of the books and cultivation manuals, so I have a good understanding of cultivation.' Thought Feng Wei as he stopped reading his book and returned it to the System Storage.
'I really didn't expect to have a System Storage as I didn't wish for it, but I guess ROB did me a favor. Although I can't store non-system items it is still a great help as I would have already filled my home with all these rewards.' Feng Wei thought while he did a small prayer to ROB.
'Anyways, before I start cultivating I need to make sure that I know what I'm doing.' Feng Wei thought as he took a book labeled "Mortal Cultivation For Dummies" out of the System Storage. Opening the book Feng Wei read 'There are 3 realm categories, those being the Mortal Realms, the Immortal Realms, and the Sage Realms. This book is for the Mortal Realms. The Mortal Realms consist of 8 Major Realms each having 9 minor realms.
The first Major Realm is the Qi Gathering Realm. In the Qi Gathering realm there are 9 layers, and each layer represents a meridian. To open a meridian one needs to use Qi to clear the blockage. The first meridian is easily opened by mobilizing a miniscule amount of Qi from the air, but they get progressively harder to open the nearer one gets to their dantien. One meridian opened would be ½ the power of someone with two opened, and someone with two meridians opened will have 2/9 the power of someone with all 9 opened. After all meridians are opened and the dantien is accessible they are considered to have entered the foundation establishment realm.
The second Major Realm is the Foundation Establishment Realm. In the Foundation Establishment Realm one needs to use the Qi stored in their dantian and meridians to strengthen their body. There are also 9 layers to this realm according to the level of strengthening. The first layer will be strengthening the marrow in their bones. The second is the bones themselves. The third is the Skin. The fourth is the internal organs. The fifth is the meridians. The sixth is the dantien. The seventh is the heart. The eighth strengthens the blood. And the Ninth is different as this is where the cultivator expels all impurities in their body, and after this step is finished they are considered to have entered into the Aspect Realm.
The third Major Realm is the Aspect Realm. The Aspect Realm is where a cultivator fuses 9 different elements into their meridians. Each meridian can only support one element, and for each element added it is one layer in the Aspect Realm. Adding elements to the meridians will give a cultivator a stronger connection with the chosen elements. Once all meridians have been fused with an element the cultivator is said to enter the Core Formation Realm.
The fourth Major Realm is the Core Formation Realm. In the Core Formation Realm a cultivator will fuse all the elements in their meridians into one core (the core being the dantien itself). Forming the core will greatly increase the control a person has over their chosen elements. This is the step where most cultivators fail as the fusion of various elements is difficult especially when some elements repel each other. Each element successfully fused into the dantien is considered a layer in this realm.
The fifth Major Realm is the Soul Forging Realm.In the Soul Forging Realm a cultivator will refine their soul. To refine the soul cultivators need to first sense their soul. After sensing their soul cultivators will refine it using Qi by fusing Qi into their soul. It gets progressively harder to refine the soul. How refined the soul is is the basis for judging what minor realm the cultivator is at. The first minor realm is at 10-20% refined. The second Minor Realm is at 20-30%, the third is 30-40%, the fourth is at 40-50%, the fifth is at 50-60%, the sixth is at 60-70%, the seventh is at 70-80%, the eighth is at 80-90% and the ninth Minor Realm is at 90-100% refined. After sensing the soul cultivators will be able to use soul attacks, and the more refined a soul is the stronger the attack.
The sixth Major Realm is the Mind Tempering Realm. In the Mind Tempering Realm a cultivator will cultivate their mind. There are also 9 layers to this realm and each layer represents a difficult hurdle. In each layer the cultivator must overcome a mental demon. Mental demons are a construction of the cultivator's desires. The mental demons will be more difficult to overcome if the desire is strong. The first Minor Realm will have a weak mental demon, and the ninth Minor Realm will have a strong mental demon. After subduing the first mental demon a cultivator will unlock their divine sense. For each mental demon subdued the cultivators mind will get clearer and their divine sense will strengthen. Divine sense can be used to improve control of Qi and elements, and it can also be used to further strengthen the body. A clear mind helps to improve comprehension speed. After all mental demons are cleared the cultivator will enter the Ascension Realm.
The seventh Major Realm is the Dao Seeking Realm. In the Dao Seeking Realm a cultivator will comprehend the Dao. There are as many Daos as there are stars in the sky, but they are exceptionally hard to comprehend. After comprehending a Dao the cultivator will form a Dao Seed. Dao Seeds will fuse with a cultivator's soul and will strengthen it. The Dao Seeds will not only strengthen the soul but also the divine sense. If a cultivator comprehends Daos related to the elements that make up their core the Dao Seeds will also strengthen the cultivators control over those elements. There is a limit of 9 Dao Seeds as the soul can only hold that many, and each formed Dao Seed is considered one Minor Realm.
The eighth Major Realm is the Ascension Realm. In the Ascension Realm a cultivator will undergo 9 tribulations from the heavens. The tribulations get harder the further one progresses. The tribulations will strengthen the cultivators body and improve their connection with the various elements. After a cultivator passes all of the tribulations they will no longer have a mortal body, and they will be forced to ascend into the Immortal World.'
After reading Feng Wei stored the book again and left his room in search of his mother and father. He wanted to inform them that he will spend most of his time cultivating from now onwards. He also didn't want to lose his parents in this life, so he wanted to ask if they would cultivate with him.
Feng Wei walked straight into the kitchen as his mother would usually be preparing breakfast around this time. When he entered the kitchen he saw his mother cooking eggs. "Hi mom!" Feng Wei said as he sat down at the table. "Oh, Feng Wei, I didn't notice you came in. The food will be ready soon so wait a little while. I will go and inform your father." Feng Li said as she left the kitchen in search of her husband, Liu Feng.
'In my past life my parents hated me as I was always in the hospital making them suffer from medical fees. However, in this life I have loving parents and no sickness, so I will make sure that my parents don't suffer and that they live long and fulfilling lives. The best way to make that happen is for them to become cultivators along with me.' Feng Wei finished his thoughts as his mother returned with Feng Liu, Feng Wei's father.
"Mom, dad, I have something to announce today! It is very important and involves the future of our family." Feng Wei said with a serious expression.
"Did you get a girlfriend? Indeed you are just like me. I met your mother around your age, but you must make sure to not get blinded by love." Feng Liu said this with such certainty that one would think it was a fact.
"No, I haven't gotten a girlfriend yet, father. I was going to announce that I was going to start cultivating from today onwards." Feng Wei said expecting to be rebuked by his parents for wanting to cultivate at such a young age.
"Oh, is that so? That's fine, your mother and I have noticed that you have been obsessed with cultivation ever since you were little. In fact we even expected you to say this earlier." Said Feng Liu.
"Yeah, it's not a big deal that you will start cultivating as we have already expected this day to come, but you must promise me that you will not get yourself killed by joining a sect." Said Feng Li with a stern look.
"I won't join a sect, so don't worry about that mom. But apart from announcing that I will start cultivating there is also something that I wanted to ask the both of you." Feng Wei spoke with a nervous expression as if his parents declined to cultivate along with him, he could not force them to do so.
"Well then ask it already, the food is getting cold." Feng Liu said with a serious expression while glancing at the food Feng Li prepared on the table.
"Alright, I want you both to cultivate along with me! I will gain a long lifespan from cultivating and I don't want to spend that time alone, so will you please cultivate along with me?" Feng Wei asked this while wondering what he would do if they refused to cultivate, but he soon learned that these thoughts are meaningless.
"Yes, we will cultivate too. After all, we can't leave our son all alone." Spoke Feng Li as she pat Feng Wei's head.
"Thanks mom."
"Now let's eat!" Said Feng Liu as he grabbed his plate and started devouring the food like a starved tiger.
