Chapter 3: Three Years Old

Three Years Later,

'It has been three years and I haven't learned anything about this bead except for its name. Sigh! This is so frustrating.' Gu Tan sat on the corner of the bed and thought.

The bead that brought him back in past was mysterious. It was called Bead of Space-Time which does represent its power. But, except for that, he doesn't find more information about it. He was trying to dig for more information but he was unable to do so.

After he found he can't succeed on it, he basically stopped. Instead, he started developing his body with Body Metamorphosis Technique. Unlike other techniques, it doesn't improve his physical strength or elemental energy.

It improves his bone structures. When he left the Mortal World and entered the Saint World, he discovered many secrets of the human body. It turns out there is Bone Structure rank which represents the affinity and potential of the bones.

His village was slaughtered when he had just turned ten. He had just awakened his Martial Soul which was also the reason why Buddhist Sect took him. His Martial Soul was a strange Black Cube. Martial Souls are divided into nine ranks.

His Martial Soul was actually ranked nine but the problem is they couldn't discover the use of Black Cube. And, it turns out his martial soul was actually crippled because of his low bone structure Even so, his cultivation didn't slow down at all.

It's just that he couldn't use any kinds of martial soul abilities. Although the Body Metamorphosis Technique improved his bone structure, it didn't affect the Martial Soul since it was already awakened. But now, he had a chance.

Body Metamorphosis Technique allows him to turn his meal, some spirit herbs, and even spirit stone into pure energy that can transform his bone structure. This is why he started using the Body Metamorphosis Technique. Just like martial soul, bone structure is also ranked from one to nine.

But unlike Martial Soul, the Bone structure can be improved. There are very few cultivation techniques in this world that can improve bone structure. The Body Metamorphosis Technique is just one of them.

"Gu Tan, what happened? Why do you look so lonely?" While Gu Tan was drowned in his own thoughts, a voice rang on his ears. He slightly turned his head and saw a young woman walking towards him. She had silver hair flowing down her back and red eyes.

Gu Tan also had the same eyes and hair. His look was one of a kind in the entire village.

"Mother, I want to some spirit stones but dad won't give me a single one." Gu Tan ran towards his mother and pouted with teary eyes. He needed Spirit Stone. And, unlike elemental stones, spirit stones were much more common and used for general transactions.

The Spirit Stones and Elemental Stones are divided into four ranks based on their colors.

Low Rank- Green Color, Middle Rank- Orange Color, High Rank- Red Color, and Peak Rank Purple Color.

Every commoner including low-level cultivators uses Green Spirit Stones for cultivation and transaction.

But, Gu Tan was only three years old. That's why his father doesn't give him the spirit stone.

Gu Shi smiled and crouched down. She rubbed his head and said "You are only three years old, boy. Why do you need spirit stones? If you need anything else, you can ask me and we will get it for you. But, Spirit Stones are precious, so we can't waste it, okay?"

"But mother, I just need two spirit stones. Can't you ask father to give me two spirit stones a month? Pretty please!" Gu Tan puts his hands together and begged with a cute expression. His big eyes were ready to burst into tears any moment.

He must have two spirit stones a month to cultivate his Body Metamorphosis Technique properly.

Gu Shi's smile slowly fades away. She stared at Gu Tan and asked "Is it the old grandpa who asked you for the spirit stones?"

To hide his brilliance, he told them that an old hermit has accepted him as a disciple when he turned two years old.

Children don't lie!

He used this to lie to his parents. He didn't want to lie but he can't reveal anything about going back in time and even about his village getting slaughtered. The reason is pretty simple. He knows the taboo of time. There are things that he can change but he must be cautious on what to change and how to change.

If he wants to keep his village safe, he must prepare himself to bear any kinds of effect that appear due to the breach in the timeline. Because it wasn't his soul that returned back, rather his knowledge. If it was his soul, then he wouldn't face any problem in the future.

With Saint Soul, he could pretty much wipe out every mortal in this world. But, only his memories came back in time. Although he was introduced to Daos, for him and many others, some daos were still prohibited to learn because of their extreme nature.

Life, Death, Space, Time, Creation, and Chaos.

Gu Tan knows the consequences of tampering with the stability of these daos. One little mistake and he could be erased from existence. That's why he was awed by the powers of this bead.

Hearing his mother's question, Gu Tan nodded his head and said "Old grandpa told me that I have a special Martial Soul. But, I can't awaken to its full potential because of my weak talent. And, so he gave me a cultivation technique that can help me improve my talent."

"Mother, the old grandpa taught me everything I have accomplished. I don't think he would be greedy for two-spirit stones."

Hearing her son's words, Gu Shi nodded her head with distress. It was a secret that only four people knew. Gu Tan wasn't a genius from birth. It was the old grandpa living inside him who taught him so many things from a small age.

They were worried about Gu Tan. Because to teach him so many things at such age, the old grandpa used the soul techniques and he didn't even bother to hide it from his family. This is why they didn't know whether to trust him or not.

Because the old grandpa inside him was too frank and reveals everything. But, using soul technique in a three-year-old kid was extremely dangerous.

Unfortunately, they were helpless to do anything. Of course, they were helpless. Because there was no such thing as old grandpa inside him.

But, when a lie is told by a kid while proving it correct true, nobody will doubt it. Being a complete child for a whole year, Gu Tan proved that he was completely normal.

But, when he reached the age of two, his plan finally started.
