Chapter 2: Prolouge
Rayla was born free. Well not entirely free, she was born a citizen of a vampire city. As a citizen she had a roughly easy life. She went to school, she had some vampire teachers. She was rather beloved by her vampire choir teacher, however, that is a story for another time. Rayla had an older sister named aria. She was about four years older then Rayla. Rayla had not been planned but was a pleasant surprise to her parents. Rayla didn't necessarily fear vampires. She saw them as the leaders as the city and respected them. She wouldn't go out of her way to talk to one but she would do whatever one asked her to right away without any hesitation. She was a good kid. She studied hard in school, she was smart but her passion was the arts and singing. God did she love to draw and sing. She had dreams of one day being a singer! She was actually supposed to preform for the entire coven at the age of twelve, right beside her sister who was sixteen at the time. However, fate and her father had something else to say about that. You see her father hated vampires, he believed that human's didn't need to be ruled and that human's should revolt against the lords and ladies. However, even he knew words such as those would cause himself or his family to possibly be killed. So that's really where this story begins with Rayla, age tweleve excitedly showing her father a piece of paper that would forever change her life.
Rayla ran home from school with her sister, both dressed the same in the school uniform a red plaid skirt stockings, shoes, and a dress shirt. Both having a bow in their hair that matched their skirt. Rayla was so excited! She was holding a golden form in her hand. Aria was excited as well but not as excited as Rayla. Aria had already learned not to get excited about anything involving vampires around their father. Aria took a seat at the kitchen table next their mother as Rayla ran and jumped in her fathers arms all excited and giddy. Acting as if it was christmas day and she was going to get a new doll. Rayla's father didn't even give Rayla time to speak before he pulled the golden slip from her hand and set her on the ground with a groan. He barely read what the paper said, he just knew that gold papers came from the lord's and there was no way in hell he was letting either of his daughter's step food inside that damn castle. He would die before he let his daughter's do anything for a damn vampire. Rayla looked up at her father as he glared down at her. Not knowing why on earth he was mad at her. " Daddy! Whats wrong? Aren't you happy for Aria and I?" she asked receiving a hard slap to her face. The first slap she had ever received. Rayla whimpered and put a hand to her face as she started to sob " d daddy" she whimpered completely caught off guard her sister sitting next to their mother in complete horror. " James!" their mother exclaimed. James was in to much of a rage to stop " NO! Im not happy for either or you I will die before I let either of my daughters do a single thing for a vampire that is outside of the blood draw" he shouted. " Were leaving tonight! I don't care what any of you say! Were leaving this damn city!" And that was the end of that. James kept to his word and as soon as it was night and dark outside he forced his family to leave with him.
They had made it maybe a block out of the city when the inevitable happened. A menacing voice rang out from the shadows. " And where do you think your going blood bags?" a voice Rayla would later find out belonged to the pet shop owner. Rayla tensed gripping her older sisters arm sight freezing dead in her tracks. She was scared, scared to death. Anna their mother was whimpering she had been caught by the vampire. Rayla for the first time in her life was scared, scared of a vampire. " No please" she begged watching in what felt like slow motion not even hearing what had came out of anyone's mouths all she could hear was her own scream mixed with her sisters, as they watched as a fountain of crimson blood poured from their mother's neck first then a few seconds later their fathers. Rayla sobbed on her knees completely helpless to what was going on. Her sister Aria was trying to despreately pull her up. " Rayla come on we need to go! We need to go back! Father was wrong we didn't choose this we can still go back!" she cried as the vampire appeared right behind her pulling her from Rayla's grasp. " Ah no sweety" the vampire purred "Its too late your both already rouges. Which is punishable by death" he sneered. Making Aria whimper as he licked her neck. " Though if you promise to be a good girl" I could be persuaded to let you and your sister live" he mused " Now what do you say? Will you be a good girl for me?" he asked Aria. Who just shook her head up and down. " I Ill do anything... just please don't hurt my little sister" she cried. The vampire snickered looking at Rayla who was on the ground watching in horror at what had just happened and shaking. " Oh I promise I wont hurt her... but you got to do something for me first girly" he mused. "A anything" Aria whimpered as she was forced to the ground. The vampire extending a claw to rip off her clothes. The vampire took her right then and there. Raping Aria while the whole time purring and telling her to be a good girl and nothing bad would happen to her or her sister. However, Once the vampire was sated with his lust he was thirsty after all and he couldn't necessarily drink from the corpses. So he bit the shaking crying girl under him. He let out a purr as her rare blood type hit his lips and he drank deeply. Deeply so much that he not only got satisfied but had sent himself into a blood lust. Aria was so weak by the time he pulled from her, she was going to die if she didn't get a blood transfusion and soon. But this was where the vampire started to actually think clearly. He couldn't take this girl to the shop. He couldn't sell her, he had soiled her and drank from her. In a fit of rage he started to claw her body ripping her flesh from bone and limbs off. All the while her sister was too scared to move. Once he was done and fully covered in the other girls blood he looked to the girl and sighed " Welp guess you lucked out you little shit.. Im full and I don't see why I cant make some money off of your hide, and if your blood is the same type as your sisters" he purred grabbing Rayla by the back of her neck " Well you will bring me more money."
