Chapter 8: Difficulty
I spent the next two days camping around the both shores of the river collecting herbs for dinner and other purposes .The mana around this place was huge so useful plants could be collected .
Most importantly I successfully managed to kill 4 more scouting shadow wolfs bringing my kill count to 5 .After using devouring flames I got 2 points of vitality .
I decided to carry on my journey as no more wolfs were coming indicating that the leader is aware of its scouts disappearance .My training was going smoothy I manage to fly for around 30 minutes before getting tired . With the increase in mastery of the technique , it became a proper spell
" Jet flame "
There was a major problem with this spell . It drained my stamina too fast and made a lot of noise . No matter how I tried I couldn't make it quieter .
I don't have to worry about lack of mana as mana rotation provides enough mana for continues use of bullets and phoenix robe .
My progress in mana control was slowing down . I used most of the methods I knew to improve them but I need techniques used my professionals .
Phoenix robe is an amazing spell completely healing my injuries and but takes a lot of mana and stamina which can't be used during battle until I perfect my mana rotation.
As I was walking towards an rocky area my instincts warned me about something but I responded late and got a claw mark on my leg, I utter a painful cry because of the burning pain ,the mark was deep and would take few hours to heal ,I focused on my attacker but couldn't help but curse my bad luck.
I was attacked by a flaming leopard ,these creatures had power of fire and fast attacks . Their entire body was covered with red fur instead of yellow with black patches on them .
It eyed me as if looking at its prey ,I wondered if I trespassed its hunting territory but it didn't gave me any time to think about ,it formed claws of flame and charged at me . I dodged easily with the new movement I learned and punched its on its spine ,I moved away as soon as I hit him as it was already charging a fire breath at me ,it was immune to my fire attacks to I had to defeat it with melee attacks.
I speeded towards it and prepared a kick which connected but it manage to balance itself not giving me any chances for further attack . The fight continued for the next 20 minutes , I saw the beast was getting tired . It opened its mouth wide and jumped at me , just as he was near my I made an uppercut with a blast of flames sending him it the air . Using jet flames I jumped near him and slammed him to the ground with full force . That was not the end as a flames emerged from my hand as I began punching its head . After a few repetitive punches and smashing its head I was finally able to kill it .
I looked around and found that the entire area had scorched by flames . There were a lot of claw marks on my body with my shirt almost torn into pieces.
I flew towards the top of the tallest tree using 'jet flame ' after using devouring flame leaving the area as my fight created a lot of noise and I couldn't afford to fight more of those. By the time all my wounds here healed ,it was already evening . I went to hunt for dinner and decided to rest for the day.
Next morning a sense of urgency filled me as I had only 2 days left kill 5 more shadow wolfs .I had to go to the inner area for finding them. During my fight I got inspiration for my new spells ,the flame claws .those will be useful for adding power to my punch and increase my speed on ground. I continued to look for traces of shadow wolf while practicing flame claws. I spent an entire day searching and finally found a wolf which I tracked to its layer .
The pack had an alpha and 5 underlings . I didn't go near them as they would be able to sense and just saw them from afar . I marked the area and reached for the tallest tree around ,I don't have enough power to face all of them ,specially the fight with the leader should be free of disturbance .
The formation of flaming claws were harder than estimated. I could form the shape but sometimes it required a lot of concentration ,there wasn't enough sharpness and the claws needed proper shape for my attack pattern . I figured out a plan for tomorrows assault.
Currently the pack was currently gone for a hunt ,facing the pack at night was a suicide mission. Their main hunting time was from afternoon to the night and they slept most of the morning .
I decided to prepare a trap ,I had interest in flora and fauna of this world so I researched about some poisonous plants ,I collected those plants in my bad during my travel. Whole night I prepared traps for my hunt . The next morning when the whole pack was asleep ,I entered the entrance of layer and burned the poisonous plants and covered the entrance vines and wood to block the airflow from inside . The plants I used were lethal respiratory plants ,they were harmless when raw but potent when burned .I still remember the village hunters warning me about this plant. I retreated a small distance and waited for my chance . but before that I checked my gains in these days

The practice of mana rotation and devouring spell had its benefits . I should already have more mana than all the villagers expect Yuno . His mana was equal to mine when I left the church .
I should learn to mask my mana or I would be easily detected anywhere .
