Chapter 9: Quest Cleared
I waited for some time and finally noticed movement in the lair. I heard some howling and out of 6 wolves I saw total 4 exited the cave with sluggish steps.
I waited till they noticed me and taunted them "how did you like my gift".
The leader looked at me with fierce eyes willing to devour me if he could instantly. It made a low grown to rest of his underlings and speeded towards me while he shot a blast of wind from his horn towards me .
I realized my taunt had worked and ran in the opposite direction and made sure they followed me. I ran in weird pattern to lessen their defense and when It was time, I heard 2 painful cries. I had dug many holes with long thorns to instantly killing anything that falls in it and coated the thorns with poison I could find for extra assurance.
By the time the leader looked back ,I had already vanished from his vision and blended myself with the environment by spaying leaf paste I prepared. I waited till the leader focused around and moved carefully to avoid traps . As soon as he did that I shot the fastest flame bullet I could muster towards the head of the remaining underling successfully killing it.
This made the leader complexly loose its sanity and speeded towards my focusing the direction of projectile.
I ran towards a nearby open rocky area as I prepared for a difficult fight I knew this wolf was stronger than the others and the leopard I faced .
The shadow wolf mage claws of wind and slashed towards me faster than the flame leopard .I realized his attacks can hurt me badly if directly hit .I created an explosion in its path blocking its vision as I propelled myself in the air and shot a flame laser towards its head . The wolf shot another wind blast from his horn to meet my attack . I increased the power output successfully hitting its head . This caused another explosion .
By the time the smoke cleared ,I saw the wolf was bleeding from its head but still standing firmly looking at my direction . His next actions make me take this fight more seriously ,the wolf forcefully absorbed mana from the surrounding and reinforced its body with it. With its new defense wide the effect of flame bullet and other spells would decrease . I had to break its defense with physical attacks
I speeded towards it creating a mini explosion from my feet . I created flame claws and slashed towards it ,the wolf did the same and out claws collided creating a shockwave ,this continued with injuries on his body increased . I inhaled a lot of air did a fire breath on its face stunning him for a moment .
I took this chance and did and uppercut kick throwing him the air ,It lost his balance and I instantly flew over him delivering a mana reinforced punch to the skull . It cried with pain and hit the ground creating a mini crater. I landed near him and saw him standing with difficulty . The horn on this head increased in height while released shock waves of winds towards me . I punched the air in front me sending a wave of flames covering its entire body but wind blast emerged him extinguishing the flames . For the next few minutes the battle continued and I was able to severe its horn decreasing tis power a lot . Blood flowed like a fountain from its head as it gave a loud howl .
I realized the final struggle and its strongest attack was coming as it dropped his body defense ,I prepared the strongest claw I could form and slashed towards it, the wolf slashed its claws in my direction creating an air slash .Out attacks collided and created an explosion scorching the area around me . I was throne back and managed to successfully balance myself.
My vision cleared and I saw that my attack had managed to prevail and spit the wolf in two. I approached the wolf and used devouring flames a black halo exited from its and entered my palm filling me with energy .
During the fight my bones were completely safe because of the insane no of body points and mana reinforcement .
I flew to a distance sat near a big rock ; I started to heal my cuts I suffered and waited for sister's return .I knew she was keeping a watch on me by her flame summons .I had to wait for an hour before sister came to my vision .
"You did quiet a hit with that last attack "she said grinning ."
"were you around me all the time ?" I asked ,"why would I follow you! ,I was keeping and eye on your kills through my summons and only approached you as It was the last day . I have figured out what you lack and where you excel at. I am satisfied with your performance .Now lets depart."
I stood up and went to get a strong branch for flying but she interrupted and said.
"you will fly without support off anything " I gave her a horrified look but she smacked my by saying that "If you disobey my orders I won't let you take a break in between ."I had no other choice and did what she wanted .
She was flying on her broom and I was flying through with ' jet flames ' draining every bit of stamina She always speeded up when she saw me adjusting to her speed .
It usually takes almost a week with normal speed ,this damn woman made me cross the distance in 5 days . I was good that she gave me regular breaks in the middle or else It would have strained my muscles too much . By the time we reached the city it was already mid night . It took another few minutes to reach the church . Even at mind night the capital city was full of lights
I followed her in the church ,she handed me new cloths and showed me my bed. I took a bath got dressed and directly fell asleep on my new bed . I was too tired to do anything and slept keeping everything for the next day forgetting I didn't have my dinner yet.
