Chapter 45: Fire bird

"Nyx, stop it. You can't come out. Not now." I was trembling with the effort to hold her in. It is no use for she will be out. There is no stopping her. There was a wave of anger welling inside of me, as I dashed towards the restroom. There is no way she is getting out right now. Shit, I should not have seen that.

The way Seraphina was practically in his lap. A shiver ran through my body at the strain of holding her in. There was a girl walking who stopped, "do you need anything?" she asked concerned.

I zoomed past her without answering. There is no time to stand there and have a chat with her.

"You know you can't stop me, Morana." I know but I have to try. I can't let her out now, not when she is like this. I hurried into the restroom locking the door behind me. A sigh escaped me as I closed myself in it.

"I thought you didn't like him. Why are you even trying to get out now." I tried to get my point to her thick head. But I got back was the push of her powers against me.

"Who said I like him? I just want to meet that new friend of his."

"NYX!" I was almost shouting at this point. She can't meet Seraphina. There is no way.

"She is a princess." I was cut short by her shouting in my head, "So am I." I can feel the jealousy rolling in waves inside me. My stomach twisting with nerves. She has a point though.

"You can't get in trouble. We both will get in trouble. The elves hold grudges for a long time. It could mean war if you even touch her." I can feel her not giving two cents of attention to my words.

"Nyx. You heard Asher in the café. He is trying to catch you. And Rivenn is here right now. You can't go out there. And did you forget the people that are in the studio? What if someone sees you? Stop this madness."

"Do you think that I can hide myself? I am assassin Morana. Hiding in plain sight is what I do." That is why I am worried; she is an assassin. I can feel her getting jealous of Seraphina. I can't let them meet. Or there will be a war between the demons and elves.

"Don't worry I won't harm anyone, And I can handle Rivenn, he is nothing that I can't handle." She said reading my mind. This time she pushed slowly unsuspectingly as if I would not know. I gathered my resolve; I was not giving up. This is far more than us.

"Even Seraphina?" I asked. She was suspiciously quiet. I knew it.

"I will not touch her," she said finally.

"Promise?" I asked to be sure, I have been deceived far more times by her than I want to admit.

"I promise," she said. "I just want to meet him, Morana," she added. I can feel the pull she has toward him. She really likes him. But they will not be able to get together because of me.

I can feel my resolve weaken. She can at least meet him. "Just stay away from Rivenn and Seraphina." I barely finished saying it before I could feel myself transform.

My eyes flashed with anger as a smirk formed on my lips. I made sure to hide myself with a simple spell before walking out of the restroom. Making sure that Morana was deep in her slumber, I made my way to the target.

I promised her that I would not touch her. And I am a woman of my word. But there are many forms of attacks in the world that didn't involve touching.

Gathering the magic in the palm of my hands, I crafted a little bird. This bird will make sure to remind him of me. This bird was different from the bird I made for him; it was to deliver my message to him. But this one. This one is different.

This little bird was crafted with such precision and care that it seemed to be a living, breathing creature. Its wings beat with a fury that matched my own, and its eyes glinted with a malevolent light. It was made of fire, hell fire.

With a flick of her wrist, Nyx sent the bird hurtling through the air toward her target.

The tiny creature moved with a deadly grace; its talons poised to strike, chirping loudly conveying the anger I was feeling.

The bird's eyes locked onto Seraphina, and it descended upon her with a speed that was almost too fast to follow. In a split second, it was upon her, its talons outstretched and ready to strike.

Seraphina barely had time to react. She threw herself to the ground, narrowly avoiding the bird's deadly claws. The creature continued to circle above her, its eyes blazing with a fierce intensity.

Seraphina watched in awe and horror as the bird of magic continued its deadly dance. She had never seen anything like it before. She threw her magic toward the bird, but it too was fast and dodged her attack.

Seraphina turned to Asher to find him smiling at the bird, "she is here." he said staring at the door, it seems like he doesn't even care that she was being attacked, her anger rose as she pinned the bird with her magic, rising to her feet glaring at the smiling demon.

"Asher!..." before she could say anything else. The bird broke free of its confinement and hurtled itself on Seraphina. This time it went for her dress, as soon as the bird touched her beautiful gown it burst into fire, she screamed as her dress caught fire. She quickly gathered her magic, making a protective shield around her body to make sure she didn't get burned.

"What is happening?" It was Rivenn as he hurried inside, coming towards his sister in concern.

Try as she might Seraphina wasn't able to stop the fire. It was Asher who was still smiling making her blood boil who had stepped forward and stopped the blazing fire that almost burned her.
