With an ambulance transporting Monroe and a police car escorting the suspect to the nearby hospital along with police protection, Nick's job for the day was complete but not before hearing a few sarcastic words from Hank who was shocked by what Nick had done to the suspect's face.
Nick didn't know what the reason for the man to kill the 3 guys from before and attempted to kill Monroe, but he knew that a shitstorm was about to start and Nick himself was going to be the one to fan the shitstorm to spread the smell of the shit inside the entire precinct.
'The media was going to have a field day with this one' Nick cursed and decided to get back to his house for a well deserved rest but soon stopped as he suddenly remembered about the captain's invite to the dinner. It was already 7 and by the time he gets home to freshen up and reach the captain's home it would be half past 8.
Nick decided to cancel the dinner invite by explaining the case he had just completed but was somehow convinced by the captain that he could come by 9 as well while saying that he had a very important thing to discuss.
He was really not in a position to reject the invite and decided to go.
Arriving at his home Nick called Juliette and gave a brief explanation about the reason that he had to cancel their date and said that he would take her tomorrow.
'Well that didn't go as well as I thought it would. We have had dates cancelled before and I had made sure to compensate them, why is Juliette upset about this one?'.
Clearing his thought, Nick focused on the upcoming event which might just be as hectic as the previous one.
'It is already evident that my identity is compromised' chuckles "I had always wanted to say that". Watching all superhero TV series and movies as well as some spy thrillers in his previous life, Nick liked these paraphrases which according to him were cool.
Going through his closet Nick picked up a black shirt to match his grey combat pants which does have only two pockets to keep his phone and wallet. Nick used these sets of pants only for running and for tactical training which he does with the SWAT team in the precinct and he already has 6 sets of these.
The main reason for choosing this was to help him in freely using his legs in a fight. He had a feeling that if a brawl broke out he would need these to fully utilise his skills.
Nick then split the hangar right in the middle and lined his finger along the crack which was present in the middle of the cupboard. Opening the secret compartment Nick picked up his combat knife and placed it along with his dress on the bed.
Before hitting the shower Nick dropped down the floor and did 4 sets of 25 push ups and squats.
Sean Renard's apartment
Sean moved inside his room deep in thought about how he was going to tackle the situation. Despite his confidence in talking with Katherine, he wasn't sure that tricking Nick could work in his favour nor was he sure about the efficacy of the potion which Katherine was preparing.
He needed Nick's help in the upcoming battle with the royal family. He had been dabbling his hands with the resistance which his half brother Eric already knows. The only thing that was stopping Eric was that in the end Sean was his family and he had yet to fully align with the resistance.
If this dangerous line somehow snaps then Eric will declare an all out war on Sean, so he needs as many competent men who would work for him.
At first Nick didn't strike as a dominant person to Sean when he first joined the task force, but that soon changed around 2 years ago. Sean had felt this change when he solved cases after cases before Nick got dragged into the mudhole of Wesen murders.
Even if others didn't know, Sean himself knew which were Wesen murders and which were not and the infamous box man or parcel man, the serial killer who killed a total 13 woman and parcelled them to their family by chopping them up like meat was the first Wesen serial killer which Nick had handled about a year ago and he still remembered the killer who was caught was a skalengeck with a brain. Most were considered stupid but this one just was brilliant.
'I should have known he was a Grimm' Sean blamed himself. If he had found that Nick was a Grimm', he would have done what he is going to do today long back.
'I have heard from my mother that Grimms tend to become stronger as time passes. I have already called Katherine and Adalind who are full blown Hexenbiest and I myself am a Zauberbiest, it should be enough to deal with Nick' with worry and half assed self confidence Sean moved to the wardrobe and took out his gun and attached a silencer to it, just in case things get way out of line.
Time passed by and it was 8.45 pm when the bell rang inside the apartment.
Adalind walked over to the door and looked through the peephole to see a handsome young man with sharp green eyes. Just his presence was different from the rest of the tough Wesen guys she had seen previously.
Despite her mother's constant efforts to get her together with Sean, she had been hesitant because it was simply not her. She never really put the effort to try and learn the books and books of potions which her mother had and was more of a nerd during her time in the university trying to be a lawyer and settle in life quickly.
She was not an idiot, she could see her mother and Sean had slept multiple times and she could also see that Sean was just using them in his quest for power but with constant nudge from her mother, she had finally agreed to date Sean.
Her mother was just as fascinated with power as Sean and sometimes she even thought that they suited each other. 'Guess she is worried about me' is what she used to tell herself to satisfy all her mother's wishes but deep down she knew that her mother was just using her to satisfy her thirst for power.
Opening the door she smiled in the most welcoming way at Nick just like she was trained by her mother, trying to enamour Nick with her charms. The expected reaction of blush and embarrassment never came on Nick's face as she gave her a sharp stare before smiling and nodding at her.
'This is the Grimm. I have heard of him from my mother just today but it seems like seeing and hearing are entirely different things. He is different from the people whom I have met in the past. He is different from Sean. He has that energy around him as if he would break through everything that is thrown at him with sheer skill and power. I don't know if we will succeed. It's better to succeed, if not Sean might try to get rid of us for being useless'.
